FAST DELIVERY: Fujinon GF23mmF4 Takes a Delightful 6 Feet Drop – VIDEO

Here is a little weekend curiosity.

A fellow FR-reader ordered the lovely Fujinon GF23mm F4, but the courier had the brilliant idea to give that $2,6K precious box a delightful 6 feet drop. You can see it all captured in the video. He tested the lens, and so far it seems the lens survived jump. And yet, things like these should not happen.

And do you have a horror delivery story to tell?

My worst, was a courier, who simply left my new computer in front of my door, right on the street, where all the people pass and it could have been taken away by simply everybody. Lucky me that I live in a super small village where everybody knows each other, and I think the last “crime” we saw in our forgotten village was a drunk guy pissing on the walls of the church a few years ago ;).

I mean, I understand we all want our package as quickly as possible, but I prefer to arrange a delivery for another day and a wait a bit longer, rather than having my gear flying around or abonded on the street.

ePHOTOzine Fujinon GF80mmF1.7 Review: Impressive Chromatic Aberration Control, Outstanding Sharpness, Superb Image Quality

When the ultra fast Fujinon GF80mmF1.7 was launched, some noticed a minimal sign of fringing when pixel peeping into images to ultra detailed pixel level. Something to worry about?

Apparently not.

According to ePHOTOzine, who just published its full technical review, the GF80mmF1.7 is able to contain chromatic aberration extremely well. They write:

CA (Chromatic Aberration) is also very impressive, centrally being close to zero as we stop down slightly. The edges are also kept well under control.

I did play around with the GF80mmF1.7 of my close friend too (he sold all his Nikon Z gear for the GFX system) and quite frankly it’s a stunning performer in terms of optical quality.

Down below you can see the Pros and Cons of the ePHOTOzine review.

ePHOTOzine Fujifilm X-E4 Review: “You Can’t Deny How Beautiful it Looks!”

I always told you that Fujifilm X-E line cameras are Fujifilm’s best looking cameras (after the X100 line cameras).

Now this is official, as ePHOTOzine writes in their review.

one thing you can’t deny is how good it looks

I owned all X-E cameras (except for the mysterious X-E2S, still today I wonder if it was worth for Fujifilm to release a new camera just for single AUTO button). And if I would not yet own the X-Trans IV Fuji X-T4, I’d grab the X-E4 immediately, as I love the hidden LCD screen on the X-E4. But there must a be reasonable limit to the gear I buy ;).

Now I put all my hope in a Fujifilm X-E5 with newer sensor that keeps the hidden screen. For that one, I’ll sell my X-E3 and X-T4.

Back to the review. ePHOTOzine ends up highly recommend the Fujifilm X-E4. Here are their Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Beautiful styling and looks
  • Most affordable 26mp Fujifilm camera
  • Compact and well-made body
  • Great image quality and noise performance
  • High-speed AF and continuous shooting
  • Wide range of X-mount lenses

Cons:

  • Exposure compensation dial easily knocked
  • Lacks of in-camera IS, and no digital IS for video
  • Fewer controls, and lack of grip without the accessory pack
  • Small buttons

Apple Adds RAW Support for More Fujifilm Cameras Including Fujifilm X-T4 and X-S10 with MacOS Big Sur and iPadOS 14.5

FR-reader Moritz made me notice on Twitter here, that a couple of weeks ago MacOS Big Sur added uncompressed RAW support for additional Fujifilm cameras.

This means you can now edit RAW files from Fujifilm X-T4, X-S10 and more in all major image editing apps on iPad as well as apps on macOS that use the RAW engine provided by iOS (Apple Core Image RAW), such as Affinity Photo or one of my favorites, RAW Power.

Sadly not yet supported are the Fujifilm GFX100S and the original GFX100. Also the Fujifilm X-E4 is not yet included.

Down below you can find the fill list of currently supported X and GFX cameras.

TIPA AWARDS 2021: Awards for Fujifilm, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Panasonic, Pentax, Tamron, Laowa and More

TIPA has worked very hard and made a brutal selection, in which only the very best of the crème de la crème of the top of the top could win their extremely prestigious TIPA award.

Or in other words: camera companies paid again a lot of money to win meaningless awards.

And in order to make it even easier for companies to win (and hence make more money by selling award licenses), they created tons of categories, such as “expert”, “advanced” and “professional”.

Now to the winners.

RUMOR UPDATE: Affordable GF Zoom Lens Coming Second Half 2021

This is an important update.

According to our sources, Fujifilm has moved the announcement of the upcoming affordable GF zoom lens from the first half 2021 to the second half 2021. Don’t worry, it won’t be delayed further to 2022. It will 100% arrive within 2021.

I don’t know if this delay is related to the shortage of parts announced by Fujifilm. Anyway, I thought it was worth to keep you up to date with the latest developments.

Anyway, it makes little difference to the substance of that rumor, which is that it will be Fuji’s most affordable G mount lens and come soon.

More details will follow on FujiRumors.

Fujifilm X-H2 with X-Trans or Not X-Trans, That is The Question! VOTE NOW if You Prefer X-Trans or Bayer for X-H2

Maybe it’s my bad English, maybe it’s the hurry with which some readers read the articles, maybe it’s a bit of both, but somehow over the last few days the idea spread over the web, that FujiRumors claimed that the Fujifilm X-E4 would be the last camera to feature an X-Trans sensor.

Well, that’s not really what I said (or wanted to say).

What I said is that the Fujifilm X-E4 will be the last X-Trans IV camera and that Fujifilm’s next camera, the Fujifilm X-H2, will have a new sensor. No more and no less than that.

Will it still be X-Trans? Or Bayer? Or anything else?

Well guys, keep trust that FujiRumors will let you know the answer at some point ;).

But until then, I’d love to hear from you guys, which one you consider better overall, Bayer or X-Trans.

If you need something to make up your mind about this very Fuji-centric dilemma, feel free to check out the article I wrote in 2018, where I explain the Pros and Cons of sticking with X-Trans or switching to Bayer.

Feel free to vote the survey down below.

I hope the Fujifilm X-H2 will have
