Fujifilm has released new firmware updates for the Fujifilm X-T4 (currently on sale) and the Fujifilm GFX100.
All details down below.
A limited number of Fujifilm GFX100S cameras is now in stock at Adorama here. So far they always sold out rapidly and stores struggled to get back stock, so if you want one, it might be better to grab it right now.
As a happy owner of the Fujifilm GFX100S myself, I can only say that if when you press the shutter button, all you want is the best possible image quality, then look no further, the GFX100S is what will satisfy you. I only miss the X-T alike dials on it, which is why I am stunned, blown away and sincerely admire the GFX100S, but I can’t love it the same way I love my X-T4* and X-E3.
The situation looks much better for the Fujifilm GFX50SII, which is available pretty much everywhere.

Here is an updated in stock check for the gear Fujifilm announced in North America.
GFX100S
Adorama and Moment had a few samples in stock, but as to expect, they run out quickly. The next one to possibly have a few available should be Amazon, who expects stock by October 20 here.
GF80mmF1.7
It’s available at AmazonUS here, at BHphoto here and at Moment here. Not available at Adorama and Focuscamera.
GFX50SII
It was originally planed to ship by the end of September, but Fujifilm issued an official delivery delay notice for the GFX50SII with GF35-70 kit, so let’s see how this will change things.
So far all stores expect the body only version as well as the kit version to be available on October 21.
GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6
So far stores expect it to ship on November 30. Only Adorama is slightly more optimistic and gives us November 20 as shipping start.
X-E4
Currently available only at BHphoto here (black version).
XF70-300mmF4-5.6
It is back-ordered everywhere. The only time indications we get comes from Moment here, who expects to deliver by November 4.
XF27mmF2.8 R WR
Fujifilm announced it. But they can’t deliver. I consider myself lucky to be able to have grabbed one a few months ago, last sample in stock. Since then, nothing. Whoever ordered one, better be armed with lots patience. A patience that will be rewarded, as it is the perfect lens ;).
X-T30II
It is expected to ship on October 21. Adorama is more pessimistic and expects to deliver in January 2022.
XF 33mmF1.4 R LM WR
It was supposed to start shipping on September 29, but pre-orders are very high and forced Fujifilm to issue an official delivery delay notice. Now it is expected to ship on October 21 in North America. Oddly enough, in Europe it is shipping and in stock.
XF 23mmF1.4 R LM WR
It is expected to ship on November 30.
XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR
Good News. This one is in stock everywhere!

Earlier today Fujifilm dropped a bunch of firmware updates, some more substantial, some just bug fixes. You can see the full list here.
The biggest changes come for the Fujifilm GFX100S and Fujifilm GFX100, which get Blackmagic RAW support.
This required Fujifilm to update the Owner’s manuals for those two cameras.
But there are firmware updates also for Fujifilm X-T4, X-T3, X-H1, X-T30, X-E4, X-Pro3, X100V, Fujifilm GFX50S and Fujifilm GFX50R. Make sure to check out all the details and download the latest firmware at our dedicated article here.
And even though I am not into video with my Fujifilm GFX100S, I will update my camera anyway, because who knows what Fujifilm fixed with that “fix of minor bugs” phrase. Sometimes they fix major bugs actually.
Don’t ask me why they do it. It’s a great news if Fujifilm fixes a major bug. No need to hide it behind a generic “minor bug fix” phrase.

I own the Fujifilm GFX100S and it astonishes me every time with its image quality.
But so far I haven’t shot a single video with it, and quite frankly, I think I never will.
However, that sensor, 70% fuller than full frame, is also astonishing video performer. Philip Bloom for example shot an entire documentary with the original Fujifilm GFX100. Gosh, some of you even mount a GFX camera on a drone for some epic areal footage!
And since the GFX system is flexible enough also for video work, there GFX cages out there, for example from Smallrig.
Now we have a new addition, coming from LockCircle, and it’s made for the Fujifilm GFX100S. You can see some images above and you find the press release, details and links below.
This cage is designed for high end professional medium format cinematography. So if this is your thing, definitely check it out. And since the GFX50SII uses the identical body, I guess it would work on that one too. But I the GFX50SII does not shoot 4K video, so I guess it is not as an attractive video option as the GFX100S.
After Adorama here, now also the official Fujifilm retailer Moment has the Fujifilm GFX100S available here.
Now, I am Fujifilm GFX100S shooter myself, so I might be a bit biased. But to everyone who has the budget and is out there looking for the best image quality, then just get one and enjoy its power.
DPReviewTV published a video about their favorite camera and lens combinations for portraits at different price points.
Before we go to their top picks, a few thoughts.
In all combos below $3,000, DPRTV picked third party AF lenses to couple with Sony, Canon or Panasonic bodies. This just shows how precious third party autofocus lenses for a system are, as they help to keep the overall costs down by offering at the same time a good image quality.
Only for Fujifilm, who won the sub 2K category, DPRTV went with the Fujifilm X-S10 and native Fujinon lens: the XF56mmF1.2 (which according to our sources will get a refresh in 2022). Btw, that lens was one of my reliable and trusted workhorses at the recent wedding I shot.
Overall this denotes that Fujifilm just made a terrific error to close their mount for so long. An error, that they finally fixed. Better late than never.
Also, APS-C dominates the sub 2K segment, showing that this sensor size (and lenses) just offers a terrific value for money.
For bigger budgets below 10K, the Fujifilm GFX100S wins coupled with the Fujinon GF 110mm F2.
And if money was no issue at all, they’d still get the GFX. It’s simply the best of the best, if you value also features like autofocus, eye detection and other advantages a modern digital camera can offer.
With that said, here are DPRTV’s top picks:
Under $1,000
Under $2,000
Under $3,000
Under $5,000
Difficult to pick Canon R series, as there are not really nice mid-range options and the better lens options are too expensive and break the budget
Under $10,000

Adorama was able to get a few more Fujifilm GFX100S cameras and hence marked it as in stock now here.
It will surely sell out quickly. Still not available at other stores listed below.
In a record time of only 8 months, Fujifilm was able to ship enough Fujifilm GFX100S cameras to finally have a few samples now in stock at Adorama here.
But the delivery bottleneck is definitely not yet over. The camera remains out of stock at BHphoto here and AmazonUS here, and once they are sold out at Adorama, who knows for how long it will remain on back-order again also there. Last time I found the GFX100S in stock was 1 month ago at Moment. It sold out within minutes and has been unavailable since then.
Just 7 months after its annoucement, the Fujifilm GFX100S is finally in stock. You can find it at official Fujifilm retailer Moment here.
And after 7 months, it is still not in stock at BHphoto, AmazonUS, Adorama and Focuscamera.
