Fujifilm FF230002 Registration Found – Expect X-Pro4, X-E5, X-S30, X-T6, X-T40, X-H3, X-H3S, X80, X100VI (X200) and GFX50R Successor Rumors to Magically Appear ;)

Fujifilm has registered the FF230002, so we now have a total of 2 registrations:

  • FF230001
  • FF230002

One of them will certainly be the Fujifilm GFX100 successor, which we already rumored months ago here.

Now, I can see the “rumors” about the Fujifilm GFX50R successor, the Fujifilm X-Pro4, Fujifilm X-E5, Fujifilm X-T6, Fujifilm X-T40, Fujifilm X80, Fujifilm X-H3, Fujifilm X-H3S, Fujifilm X100VI or X200 and more pop up. But those “rumors” appeared also ahead of the X Summit on May 24, and of course none of it materialized. But I guess misleading readers for traffic and good SEO is a great deal for them.

FujiRumors will let you know what the real deal is… clickbait and misleading free as usual ;).

Fujifilm X100V Orders Suspended at BHphoto, Blocked in Japan and What it Could Mean for the X100V Successor

X100V – A Success?

We know that the Fujifilm X100V has been an incredible success for Fujifilm.

A success that reflects also in the great feedback received from all over the web, for example:

Yep, you read it right: despite all the fantastic and super-hyped and hyper-popular gear Sony, Canon and Nikon have launched, the video that most people watched in all these years on DPRTV was the X100V review.

And not to talk of the great customer reviews it is getting all over the most popular stores:

But all this popularity and love came at a cost:

And, new today, even B&H Photo has given up at this point and has stopped to take any orders for the Fujifilm X100V.

On their website now, instead of an order button, you get a “Request Assistance” button and when you click on it it says:

Unfortunately, our supplier cannot provide an accurate timeframe so we have suspended backorders for this item.

X100V – A Failure?

Given the massive interest for the X100V and the inability for Fujifilm to deliver, the question that I now have is that this can be seen as a success or a failure for Fujifilm.

I mean, clearly Fujifilm can call it a success, as the demand is high. But they could have made so much more money, if only they were able to deliver the X100V.

And while to a certain degree it’s OK to have delays for a very popular camera, coming to a point where you totally block orders for over half a year with no outlook for the situation to improve, also signals a certain failure on Fujifilm’s side to demonstrate flexibility and creativity in adjusting plans and production properly.

Yes, they did try some curious solution like the use of Blockchain to optimize supply network of digital camera parts, but that was done 1 year ago and the results can’t be seen anywhere, with many Fujifilm cameras still not available or in some cases even discontinued, despite people having those cameras on order, as it was for example the case for the X-E4, a camera MANY of you guys ordered, but did not receive because Fujifilm stopped producing it.

And in fact, back in May, Fujifilm candidly admitted that they are still struggling with parts shortage.

So from this point of view we could see all this also as a failure, as Fujifilm can’t capitalize anywhere near to what they could have, if they’d have been able to organize a realiable parts supply for the X100V.

X100V Successor?

I know some will wonder what this means for the Fujifilm X100V successor (however they are going to call it).

I am working on the rumors and as soon as I have something reliable in my hands, I will let you know.

But imagine you are Fujifilm, you have an insanely popular camera in the house and all you have to do is to manufacture as many of them as possible to make lots of money.

If I was Fujifilm, then I would not be in any hurry to come out with a successor and just use every part I can get to make as many X100V as possible for as long as it will remain this popular. I mean, why keep aside parts for an eventual Fujifilm X200 or X100VI or however they are going to call it, if they can make great money with no need of further R&D investments today with the X100V already?

But again… that’s just my personal perception of this situation.

What matters is what our sources tell us in regards to the Fujifilm X100V successor. And for that, my friends, I invite you to stay tuned on FujiRumors.

The rumors… they will… drop… for sure.

Which Sensor Would You Like on the Fujifilm X-Pro4, X100V Successor, X-E5 and X-T40 – VOTE NOW

Ok, today it’s my birthday, and I have to apologise to you.

Because, remember when I asked which sensor you’d like Fujifilm to use in future cameras, if the 40MP sensor or the 26MP stacked sensor?

Well, forget about it, and sorry that I wasted your time.

Because Fujifilm managers recently told us that they still see a future in the 26MP X-Trans IV sensor. And also our rumors about the Fujifilm X-S20 featuring the 26MP X-Trans IV sensor confirm that at least one more camera, the X-S20, will get that sensor.

So this kind of requires me to ask for your kindness and time again, and to let you again vote on the survey. But this time I’ll include the option of the X-Trans IV sensor.

Only one camera will get an additional option: the Fujifilm X-Pro4. Because, as I told you recently, I think Fujifilm will continue to experiment with that camera line; experiments that could include also a different type of sensor. But to be clear: it’s all just speculation from my side, not a rumor. Just to be clear and avoid misunderstandings.

So, down below you can vote your favourite sensor for each camera again.

Also, in the video I made today will share what my favourite sensor would be for each camera.

Fujifilm X100V Stock in Fall 2023? The Bad (X100V, X-E4, X-Pro3), the Good (X-T5, X-H2S, GFX) and the Struggling (X-H2)

It’s true, the Fujifilm X100V is hard to find these days.

But it’s actually much worst than that.

I took a look at all Fujifilm camera lines (the ones that survived, not the ones axed by Fujifilm), and we can see that the X100V enjoys great company when it comes to long waiting times.

What’s easy to find in stock are the higher end high profit margin top tier mainstream cameras.

This gives us two options on what is going on:

  1. Fujifilm gear has suddenly become terribly popular, except for the X-T5 and X-H2s which don’t sell and hence are easy to find in stock
  2. Fujifilm is struggling with parts procurement and is prioritizing high profit margin cameras that sell well and are crucial for Fujifilm’s future

I don’t know you, but I’d go for Nr.2.

Now let’s look at the situation today.

The Bad

X100V silver is expected to be in stock in fall 2023 at BHphoto. No time indication for the black X100V. You find only overpriced marketplace X100V cameras on Amazon. Out of stock pretty much everywhere.

X-Pro3 dura silver is expected in 2 to 4 weeks. No time indication for all other colors. Given that the X-Pro3 is slowly being discontinued, I am not very opmtistic about its future stock status.

X-E4 black is expected to ship in 6 to 10 weeks at BHphoto. No time indication for the other colors and kit combinations. We remind you the X-E4 was launched in January 2021 and the last time I’ve noticed the X-E4 in stock was back in October 2021. Not even the X100V has such a bad shipping record as the X-E4.

The Good

The Fujifilm X-T5 (both colors) is expected in 7 to 14 days at BHphoto. You can find it in stock at Amazon US and Adorama. There is 1 to 2 weeks waiting at Moment only for the black version.

The Fujifilm X-H2s is easy to find in stock. And you even get Capture One 23 for free if you buy it at Adorama.

The Fujifilm X-S10 is easy to find in stock.

The Fujifilm X-T30II is in stock in silver and the black one is expected in 7 to 14 days at BHphoto. It is in stock in both colors at Adorama here. You can find it in stock also via third party sellers at Amazon, and if you buy sold by Amazon it will ship in late February.

The Struggling

The Fujifilm X-H2 is expected in 7 to 14 days at BHphoto. Out of stock with no time indication given at AmazonUSAdorama and Moment. I guess the huge chunk of 40MP sensors Fujifilm has available are used for the Fujifilm X-T5, so this inevitably means that it prolongs the waiting for the Fujifilm X-H2.

The GFX

All good on the GFX front, with all cameras being easily available.
