Fujifilm X-T2 Firmware ver. 1.10 Available for Download at Fujifilm China (Now Removed) – Full Details of the Update

x-t2-fw-1-10-details

As you know, Fujifilm originally planed to release FW 1.10 for the Fujiflm X-T2 on October 29. It has then been postponed to November 8. But yet another bug forced Fujifilm to delay the release even further. The new deadline is November 29.

But apparently Fujifilm China was not aware of the delay, since they published the Fuji X-T2 firmware ver.1.10 file on their site. It has since then been removed, but an attentive Fujirumors readers grabbed a screenshot and even downloaded the file.

I won’t share the file here, since it’s buggy and I don’t recommend anybody to load it on their X-T2. However, what I will share, is the list of updates that Fujifilm introduced with the new Firmware (kindly translated by our Chinese FR-reader – thanks!)

The FR-reader told me that the improvement notes are a bit of confusing, because the Chinese version was very likely badly translated from Japanese.

1. Take shots thru USB from PC.

Use below software for remote control.

a) Download “FUJIFILM remote plug-in PRO” from Adobe Add-ons website.

b) Download “FUJIFILM remote plug-in” from Adobe Add-ons website. T2 will support the 1.3 version.

c) Buy HS-V5 software.

2. Lock operations while shooting.

3. Screen will display shutter speed when disable AE and turn on auto ISO and aperture priority.

4. Fix overexposure with AF-C.

5. Fix AF unusable with XF18-135mmF3.5-5.6R LM WR.

6. Fix system hung with “PC auto save” setting.

7. Improve compatibility for Nissin i40

UPDATE: New Firmware for Fujifilm X-T2 (ver.1.10) on Thursday… and New Firmware for Fuji X-T1

 photo KAIZEN_zps1fdb780f.png

The Fujifilm X-T2 will get a new Firmware (ver. 1.10) and it should be available for download on Thursday. Of course, keep in mind the (many) lessons we have learned from the past: last minute bugs can always happen and force Fujifilm to postpone everything.

UPDATE: As FR-readers pointed out in the comments, the Firmware will apparently make the Nissin i40 work again on the X-T2 without any need of a firmware update by Nissin. I can’t confirm this for now.

Fujifilm will also release a new Firmware for the X-T1. I’m not sure if it will come on the same day of the X-T2 Firmware and what it will about, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Fuji would give us one last nice Kaizen Firmware ;)

Fujifilm GFX Listed for Sale for $8,500 (with lens) at Vietnamese Fuji Premium Reseller :: POLL: How Much Would you Pay for the GFX?

fujifilm-gfx-pre-order

Fujifilm GFX – Price

Official Vietnamese Fujifilm Premium Reseller (with Fujifilm Showroom) Phú Quang Camera has the Fujifilm GFX with GF 63mm listed for sale for 189.900.000 VND ($8,500 – €7,700) here. They also say it will ship in February 2017. – thanks to the FR-reader for the link :)

Now, I don’t think that, at this stage, Fujifilm has set a 100% final price on the GFX. The camera is still in development and Fujifilm can change the supposed price tag anytime until its launch. And as indicated by dpreview here and by Swiss Fujifilm Managers here, the camera is more likely to hit the market in Spring (early spring according to the Swiss Manager)

At the moment, the only official statement Fujifilm made is that the Fujifilm GFX will cost “way under $10,000 (exlcuding tax)“.

Well, let’s grab this occasion to launch a survey. Sure, we all want it as cheap as possible, but the poll is about how much you would spend ** maximum ** on the Fujifilm GFX + 63mm. What’s your uppermost investment limit?

UPDATE: Metz will launch the METZ MECABLITZ M400. HSS and TTL Fujifilm X Compatible. More here (translation)

Fujifilm & Flash… a long (and often painful) story. However, over the last years, we have seen some improvements, and some companies, like Nissin, started to support Fujifilm X-series cameras.

But it’s when you think that things go better, that Fuji is able to make it worst again ;)

In fact, with the launch of the X-T2, Fujifilm also introduced changes in the flash protocol to support the EF-X500 flash system. New protocol… and hence flashes that work on the X-T1 are now no more supported on the X-T2.

The good news is: everything can (hopefully) be fixed with Firmware updates.

So here is a Recap:

Tell us something about you

Professional Photographer or Amateur or something in between?

As an amateur you have the priveledge to be free of economical influences. This way you can concentrate on your passion.

What is your kind of photography? (Motives, Approach …)

dpi

Landscape and architecture are like “unequal sisters”. On the surface they seem to be different, but secretly they are connected through an invisible bond. Landscape and architecture are the “Ying and Yang” of photography.

Landscape is a very romantic kind of photography in which lyric and poetry take a great part. For this reason, many landscape photographers unconsciously are oriented towards the pictures of William Turner and other famous romanticists.

Architecture on the contrary, often prefers coolness as well as strict shapes and lines. It often seems to be technological, monochrome and cold.

In the daily routine of photography, architecture and landscape both subsist on wide angle shots or abstract tele shots. And certainly they are increasingly influenced by postproduction.

dop

Where can we find more about you on the web (website, Flickr, Facebook, portfolio)

I have a portfolio on 500px (https://500px.com/don-pino) and on some German websites.

What’s your favorite image taken with a Fuji?

I only started taking pictures two years ago with Fuji. Therefore I haven’t got a very big choice. In my opinion, the pictures of the mushroom pickers are two of my highlights. Especially, because I intentionally visited the Italian Monti Sibillini in June to take pictures of the poppy blossom. Unfortunately, the poppies started flowering lately because of the low temperatures. The pictures were taken in the morning at three degree

Your Move to Fuji

What’s the main reason for you to own a Fuji?

Like many others I was looking for an alternative second system with a compact design which meet the high expectations especially regarding the low-light photography. Not until I bought the X-E2, I got to know the fantastic fixed lenses. After two years of experience, I’d say that Fuji achieved the perfect balance between quality and compactness, simultaneously creating a “brand with a soul”.

Is there something you miss from your previous system?

Since I’m frequently using the DRI technique for night scenes and indoor shootings, I miss the extensive AE – Bracketing possibilities my 5DMKIII had. The X-Pro2 now provides AE bracketing function of +/- 2 which at least is a small step in the right direction.

What’s your favorite lens?

That’s a difficult question regarding the fantastic range of Fuji lenses. I love the 16 mm 1.4 lens as a universal fixed focal length with an extremely close focus distance. Apart from the 10-24mm, the 55-200mm became one if my favourite lenses.

What’s your favorite camera bag?

I like Think Tank. Since I started using Fuji I changed to a more compact model of airport essentials.

What’s in your bag?

X-T1, X-E2 and (hopefully soon) the X-Pro2
16mm, 23mm, 56mm, 10-24mm, 55-200mm and at least the XC16-50
Several 77mm B&W and Haida ND Filters
Three Lee ND-Graduate Filters
Several Step up rings
Nissin i40
A Rocket Blower
Two SanDisk 32 GB SD cards
Undefined lens-cleaning cloth

Your Advice to Fuji

Which lens, that is not yet in the roadmap, would you like Fuji to make?

A new 60mm weather sealed and stabilized “Allround Macro” which can be also used for Portrait Photography, like the popular Canon 100/2,8 L .

Tell Fujifilm what’s the main thing they should still improve in the X-series system via Firmware and/or Hardware

Although I keep told that 80% of the X-users take their “tripod pictures” using a mechanical cable release, I desperately wish for a newer version of camera remote which will make bulb shots and exposures of more than 30 Seconds possible and the remote release dispensable at the same time. Concerning long exposure, I’d like to add that I really could use a “live bulb” function.

Decisive Questions

OVF, EVF or Display?

The EVF of the X-T1 is already great. I don’t even dare to imagine how good the EVF of the X-T2 will be.

Rangefinder style or DSLR shape?

For me this isn’t an “either/or” question. I use them both. It depends on the moment and on the lens.

RAW or JPEG?

At the Moment 100% raw. With Acros this may change.

Curiosity & Customize you X

You most & you least used feature in Fujifilm cameras (like film simulations, build-in RAW converter, Extended DR(100-200-400), advanced filters, panorama, digital split image etc…)

According to me, there should rather be too many options for technical features than too less. At the end it’s up to me anyway whether I use them or not.

Which functions did you place on the FN-buttons of your camera?

I very often use a tripod, therefore I placed the Self-timer at the Top FN Button.

What’s Your favorite film simulation

I am still waiting for Acros.

Your favorite photography quote.

Truly all photographs are self-portraits. (Elizabeth Opalenik)
