Guess What? The Fujifilm X100VI Grabs Nr.1 Best Seller Spot in Japan at Mapcamera

The Fujifilm X100VI was release only on March 28 in Japan and orders at certain stores had been suspended due to high demand just a few days later on April 2.

But a few days are enough for the Fujifilm X100VI to skyrocket instantly at the top best selling spot at Mapcamera in Japan (one of the largest retailers in Japan).

Mapcamera says that they sold all their units “instantly”, suspended orders and still don’t know when they will accept orders again.

The New Kit: Fujifilm X-T50 to be Announced Together with XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8

Well, I guess that after all the rumors we saw this one coming. But at least now it is official in terms of “rumors”.

The Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 will be announced together with the Fujifilm X-T50.

So the Fujifilm X-T50 will be the first camera to be offered bundled with the new Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8.

The Next X Mount Lens

5th Generation X Gear

5th Generation GFX Gear

There Will NEVER be a Fujifilm X-T40, because it Will be Called Fujifilm X-T50 ;)

Most people and all websites are calling the successor to the Fujifilm X-T30II the “Fujifilm X-T40“.

However, according to our sources, there will be no Fujifilm X-T40, because the X-T30II successor will be called Fujifilm X-T50.

That makes sense to me, because it belongs to the 5th generation Fujifilm cameras (with 5th generation processor, AF goodness etc).

And yes, I know. The X-H2, X-H2S and X-S20 are also part of the 5th generation Fujifilm lineup, and yet they don’t feature the numeral “5” in their names. However, transitioning directly from X-H1/X-S10 to X-H5/X-S50 would likely have been too big of jump. In this case, it makes sense to maintain the “2” designation, indicating the second generation of this series.

So, from now, shall we call it the Fujifilm X-T50.

The Fujifilm X-T50 will be the next APS-C camera that Fujifilm will launch.

Fujifilm X100VI: Monthly Production Set at 15,000 Units – Can it Satisfy Overwhelming Demand?

Nikkei reports that the initial monthly production for the Fujifilm X100VI will be 15,000 units, equivalent to the Fujifilm X-S20 initial production, which faced shipping challenges.

But will it be enough to satisfy demand?

Because to my knowledge, the Fujifilm X100VI has garnered an unprecedented number of preorders, surpassing all previous Fujifilm models by a large margin.

And while this success is excellent for Fujifilm, the allocated 15,000 units per month may fall short of meeting the overwhelming demand. And with social media fueling the X100VI hype, the demand is not likely to slow down in the coming weeks and months.

I can comprehend if many of you, myself included, are growing concerned about the possibility of the X100VI experiencing shipping challenges similar to those faced by various other Fujifilm X gear in recent years.

But whether and how quickly preorders are shipped doesn’t just rely on the current production rate. It also depends on how well Fujifilm prepared in the months leading up. Let’s hope they’ve been producing plenty of X100VI units in recent weeks to avoid extended waiting times due to the high demand.

One certainty remains: the demand is exceptionally high. While this is undoubtedly positive for Fujifilm, I hope the impact on customers awaiting the shipment of the X100VI won’t be too severe.

And in fact, I just participated in the Fujifilm USA tech talk. During the session, the Fuji representative assured that the shipping situation for the X100VI will be an improvement compared to the “V.” However, given the overwhelming popularity of the X100VI, he advised preordering to secure your unit at the earliest opportunity.
