Godox Releases TT685 F and V860 II F with Firmware Ver. 1.0

The TT685 F and the V860 II F are now shipping, and hence, you can find on the Godox firmware page, the original ver.1.0 firmware. See the firmware here.

And just recently (August 21) Godox updated the X1TF controller with HSS support for Fujifilm GFX 50s and X100F and more  – read here. And regading this X1TF update, I got the following email by Markus Klinko… and he asks for feedback if possible…

– X1T-F easily crashes, or semi-crashes and needs to be re-set, batteries taken out etc.
I never had this issue when using the RoboSHOOT MX20 with the Godox X1T-N.
But it def was a bit glitchy in other ways.

– the new firmware V03 works actually less good with GFX. The previous version
was able to recognize when to go into HSS and back to normal flash, while V03
only recognizes when shutter speeds are set above sync speed, and does move into HSS,
but coming back to 1/125, it keeps the flashes in HSS mode. Once test flash is fired from the trigger
itself, the flashes go back to normal flash. Its not a huge deal, but indicative that sometime is wrong with V03.

Fujifilm Firmware Update Will Bring Improved AF-Tracking of X-E3 also to Other X-series Cameras

Fujifilm X-E3

Just yesterday we reported about the rumored improved AF-tracking of the upcoming Fujifilm X-E3.

Some people thought that this could mean there will be some hardware improvements over the X-T2 (faster processor, new sensor etc).

Well, instead of replying to everyone in the comments and on Facebook and Twitter, I think it’s better to say it in a dedicated article: the AF-tracking improvement will be software related only, and Fujifilm will deliver a nice firmware update to bring it to other X-series cameras, too.

So guys, the big Fujifilm Party on September 7 is coming… and I’m ready for an epic live blogging.

Stick around… and stay tuned on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter for the latest updates.:)

This Simple “Trick” Will Show You When Your Fujifilm Camera Has Been Made

Ok guys, if you ever wanted to know when your Fujifilm camera has been manufactured, here is a simple way to find it out :)

All you have to do is to check out the first two figures of your serial number.

So, as you can see above, my good old (and now discontinued) Fujifilm X-T1 serial number starts with “42“.

This means that my Fujifilm X-T1 has been made in 2014, in quarter 2.

To check if this is correct, I opened a random image of mine (SOOC or RAW) with the Graphic Converter EXIF tool. Here is what it shows me: 2014:06:18… or 18th of June, 2014. So indeed, quartal 2 of 2014.

So if your serial number starts with, let’s say, 71, it means your camera has been manufactured in 2017, quarter 1.

UPDATE: Thanks to the FR-community, we have solved the riddle. As from Fuji’s page in Russian here (google translated)

1st digit = Year:
1 = 2011, 2 = 2012, …

2st digit/letter = Quarter:
I quarter = 1, 5, A, S, E, J, N
II quarter = 2, 6, B, T, F, K, P
III quarter = 3, 7, C, U, G, L, Q
IV quarter = 4, 8, D, W, H, M, R

Examples of determining the year and quarter of production:

Serial number 1Txxxxxx – the first position of the number – the number “1” means 2011, the second position of the number – “T” – means the 2nd quarter, accordingly the product was produced from April to June 2011;

Serial number 03xxxxxx – the first position of the number – the number “0” means 2010, the second position of the number – “3” – means the 3rd quarter, accordingly the product was produced from July to September 2010.

The production date itself is taken as the last day of the production quarter. Ie, if the camera is produced in the third quarter, the warranty period will be counted from September 30.

Major Fujifilm X-Pro2 Kaizen Firmware Update Will Add 4K Video and More

There Will Be Kaizen

Heay gsiys I AMSMAZING casnT BNelive…

* * Dutch vegetable break * *

Sorry, I was too excited to type… but now I’m more calm… so let me try again to write it down for you ;)

Dear Fujifilm Shooters,

some of you might remember, when back in 2013, the godfather of the Fujifilm X-series, Mr. Kawahara, said in this interview of 2013 that they are committed to improve their cameras via firmware updates because “we want you to use our camera longer and longer in your life.” (Note: Kawahara left Fujifilm in 2016, as reported here).

And indeed, we have seen many huge Kaizen firmware updates for many cameras in these years.

The FW updates were so big, that Fujifilm had to re-write entire camera manuals several times and Rico had to republish updated versions of his Fuji Tips and Tricks ebooks. And (unless you are an X100S/T) owner, you had the pleasure to feel what it means to “download a complete new camera… for free“.

Well… today I’m very excited to tell you, that there will be Kaizen love again… also for the Fujifilm X-Pro2!

Fujifilm X-Pro2: Level Up

I hear from trusted sources, that Fujifilm is working on a major firmware update for the Fujifilm X-Pro2, which will, among the others, give X-Pro2 owners 4K video and more.

Here on FujiRumors, the community asked for 4K on X-Pro2 multiple times, in dedicated articles and comments, and finally also Fuji Guy Billy joined Fujirumors critics on February 2017, when he said here he is also “fighting with Japan” to implement 4K on X-Pro2.

Well… it seemed all this pressure helped ;)

So, dear X-Pro2 shooters… be patient, and you will get your Kaizen Love.

Oh… and feel free to share the joy with all of us at the Fujifilm X-Pro user group on facebook. We also have an X-T User Group, if you are interested.

Time To Dream

4K is sure. But what else would you like? Tethering? And maybe the ability to adjust ISO via command dial? Anything else? Well, then say it here in the comments… you know those guys at the Fujifilm headquarter read us and X-ray your comments :)

*** You’ve Got The Power ***

Can Fujifilm ignore a unique community on the world-wide web that is able to drop 11,000 votes in a single poll within 2 days? Nope, they simply can’t :)

And if there is a reason why Fujifilm’s most known top manager, Toshihisa Iida, “loves” FujiRumors, then it’s because you guys provide Fujifilm an umatched amount of (free) feedback every single day in your comment and poll votes.

Your diligent (and massive) participation allowed Fujirumors to become the privileged channel that connects Fujifilm to its customers… this is more that I could have ever hoped for this blog! Thanks guys :)

Now, to keep our feet well set on the ground, I will also say that I’m aware we can’t always influence Fujifilm’s decision…

… however, sometimes, we can :)

In fact, it was your feedback and negative poll results, that killed the monochrome X-Pro1 and your positive pressure that revived the X-E3 plans and made Fujifilm say herewe are aware of the many X-E3 request”.  The feedback you give in polls makes it to internal Fujifilm meetings with the Press and, as said before, even Fujifilm top manager Toshihisa Iida “Loves” FujiRumors.

So guys, never stop it and keep up sharing your daily feedback to Fujifilm :)

have a GREAT day,

Big Fujikina Event in Toyko September 7, 2017

Earlier this year, on January 21, Fujifilm launched the first “Fujikina” event in Kyoto, Japan. On that event, Fujifilm also announced the Fujifilm GFX and more.

Well, Fujifilm just officially announced a new Fujikina event, this time in Toyko on September 7, 2017. If you want, you can sign-up now for the event.

And if Fujifilm does it like last time, also this one could be a nice event to finally unveil to the world new gear, such as the rumored X-E3, XF80 Macro, the GF 45mm and maybe even more.

And don’t worry, if you can’t go to the event, FujiRumors will be the one place where to be, to get virtually as close to the event as possible… your window to Fujikina 2017!

New Fujifilm X-T20 Firmware Ver. 1.02 is Out (but Not Yet for Official Download)… Other Fuji Cameras to Get New Firmware, too?

There is a new firmware update on the way for the Fujifilm X-T20 (and maybe for other Fujifilm cameras too?)

A FR-reader just received back his Fujifilm X-T20 from repair, and he saw that his Fujifilm X-T20 has already firmware 1.02 installed (latest official version is 1.01).

When will Fujifilm release firmware 1.02 for every X-T20 owner?

As we told you earlier today here on Fujirumors, Fujifilm will have a big Fujikina event on September 7. That could be a good date to release the latest firmware update for X-T20… but I have no rumored date for now.

What we have seen in the past, is that Fujifilm usually releases updates for several cameras on the very same day, so I wouldn’t be surprised if also other Fujifilm cameras will get an update. But also in this case, just a speculation of mine.

Anyway… whatever comes, I’m 100% focussed to give you guys the fastest udpates, the most reliable rumors and the freshest news in the Fuji world.

*** The fact that Fujirumors is consistently the first to break the news and rumors, is only made possible thanks to your support. By sharing with FR, you allow me to keep the entire Fuji World up to date (and excited) in real-time. I couldn’t do all this alone, so thanks so much for your help… and feel free to keep up sharing… I can’t wait to see what you guys spot next :)
