Fujifilm Says X-H2 Might Offer Automatic In-Camera Combination of 160MP Pixel Shift Files

Just as we rumored, the Fujifilm X-H2 turned out to be Fujifilm’s first X-Trans camera to offer pixel shift multishot.

The Fujifilm X-H2 takes 20 images, which you must then combine using Fujifilm’s pixel shift combiner software to create 160MP images.

Now, in an interview with the Japanese youtube channel of Gizmomo, when asked if it will ever be possible that the camera will combine the files internally without any need to use an external software, a Fujifilm representative answered:

[google translated] It’s very hard… (laughs). There are 40 million pixels, and the range of image processing is packed from one to here to here, so there may not be anything that can be technically impossible, so if there are so many opinions from everyone in the future, I may do my best.

So if all Fujifilm needs is pressure from us, so be it… let’s start it in the comments.

New Images of Fujinon GF30mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift and GF110mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift Macro

At the very end of the last Fujifilm X Summit, there was that “one more thing” moment, and this time Fujifilm decided to show us mockups of the Fujinon GF30mmF5.6 Tilt shift lens and Fujinon GF110mmF5.6 Tilt Shift Macro lens.

We reported about it here already.

One might remember that already back in September 2021 Fujifilm showed us the mock up of one of those lenses, but at that time it was still an f/4 lens, the Fujinon GF30mmF4 tilt shift.

That mockup showed a was rather hefty lens, so I guess that in order to save size and weight (and to make it more affordable), Fujinon redesigned it to be an f/5.6 lens.

A good decision in my eyes, as the new hands on images that now appeared (see them below) over at digitalcameraworld, show a definitely smaller lens.

The Fujinon GF30mmF5.6 T/S lens will appeal particularly to architecture and inferior design photographers whereas the GF110mmF5.6 T/S Macro to food and product photographers.

New Fujifilm Camera Remote App to Be Called “X-App”… but Will it Really Come in September?

When we shared the rumor about Fujifilm working on an all new camera remote App, we got hundreds of comments of pure joy.

And if you were wondering (like me), if the new App would also get an all new name so that we can get over the “Camera Remote” trauma faster, I am pleased to report that it will.

In fact, I have been told that right now Fujifilm is likely going to call the new app “X-App”.

  • I CAN HEAR YOU SHOUT: “Who Cares!”.

I get it… but to me, the fact that the App will get a totally new name is at the same time a strong indication that it is an all new and totally re-written App, which is great news!

As the App is not yet out, I would not be totally surprised if the final name would be another one. But for now it’s “X-App”. And in any case, it will surely be a totally new App with a new name.

  • I CAN HEAR YOU SHOUT: “When Will it Come!”

I have heard some claiming it will come in September, based on what a German manager supposedly said here. But since I speak German, I can tell you that at no point of the interview the manager mentioned any new App coming at all. It goes without saying that therefore he also didn’t say it will come in September.

So what I can say is that I don’t know when it will be released. I can’t exclude September, but I also can’t exclude October, November, December or just anything at this point.

But I just want to make clear that neither any manager nor FujiRumors have announced a new App coming in September.

So please, don’t be disappointed if it won’t come in September… but know that it will come for sure and Fujifilm is working on it.

Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II Additional Specs: 67mm Filter Size, Weather Resistant and No Linear Motor

When Fujifilm started to release the newest f/1.4 lens trinity, they all got the weather sealing, a new optical design to resolve the 40MP of the X-H2 and X-T5 and they also got a linear motor for blazing fast autofocus.

Well, according to our trusted sources, the Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II will follow that path, but not completely.

We got told this by trusted sources:

So what the XF56mmF1.2 II will lack over the the latest f/1.4 lenses is the linear motor.

We remind you that the current version uses DC coreless motor (the smallest motor). Stepping motors are better but bigger. So I wonder (not rumor) if this version has a stepping motor.

Before we make any judgment on AF, let’s wait for the real world reports, which will all drop on September 8 and we will cover live here on FujiRumors

Full Fujifilm X-H2 Specs Leaked, but Not All is Correct – I confirm 1/180,000 ES Speed

The full specs of the Fujifilm X-H2 have been leaked by Nokishita.

And it took no time for some to notice that they list the fastest electronic shutter speed at 1/80,000, and even less time for others to point the finger towards a wrong rumor I have shared.

But here is the thing: it’s not FujiRumors that is wrong.

I confirm (and it is 100% correct) that the electronic shutter will be 1/180,000 fastest.

Look, same happened with the price of the GF80mmF1.7, where FujiRumors leaked a different price compared to Nokishita, and it turned out we were correct.

And to be fair, that’s not even Nokishita’s fault. Fujifilm has just send out to press and stores the specs with an error, which Nokishita then simply copied. So it’s the stores that have wrong information from Fujifilm. No fault on Nokishita, who remains the greatest of all of us.

Anyway, 1/180,000 electronic shutter. That’s it. I wonder who needs it, but it will be there
