HOT!!! Fujifilm GFX 50R First Image Leaked?

Fujifilm GFX 50 R

Could this be the first real life image of the Fujifilm GFX 50 R? (thanks for sharing)

If yes, then here is what we can say:

  • rangefinder style camera
  • EVF only
  • diopter adjustment like on X-Pro2 and not on X-E3
  • makes a compact impression
  • in this image, there is probably a flash trigger attached to the hot shoe

We remind you that the Fujifilm GFX 50 R will be launched around photokina (which takes place between 26 to 29 September). It will be rangefinder styled medium format camera and if this image is real, with EVF only, hence more similar to the Fujifilm X-E3 than to the Fujifilm X-Pro3.

The final Fujifilm GFX 50 R price has not yet been set, I guess also because Fujifilm wants to see at what price tag the Full Frame Canon EOS R is. But in any case it will be significantly less than Fujiilm GFX 50S

But already now I feel pretty confident to claim, that the Fujiflm GFX 50R will look much better than the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

Fujifilm X-T3 vs Nikon Z6 vs Z7 vs Fujifilm GFX 50R vs 50S vs X-H1 vs X-T2 – The Complete SPECS & SIZE Comparison

Fujifilm Vs. Nikon Mirrorless

The Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 have been announced and are now available for pre-order.

So how do Nikon’s new mirrorless cameras compare to Fujifilm’s offering?

Well, I have created a comprehensive specs comparison, and included also the Fujifilm X-T3 and Fujifilm GFX 50R to the list.

While we know a lot about the Fujifilm X-T3 and I can already insert lots of specs in the list, we know not so much about the GFX 50R. However, it should have about the same specs of the GFX 50S, just in another form factor (rangefinder) and for a much cheaper price. So there won’t be big surprises with the GFX 50R.

Both Nikon’s are surely very good cameras. There are many specs to love, but also some, that might not really incentivize Nikon DSLR shooters to switch to Nikon mirrorless Z6 or Z7.

In fact, both cameras have:

  • only 1 XQD card slot (might be a dealbreaker for Pros)
  • battery life is around 310/330 shots (welcome to mirrorless, Nikon)
  • there is no eye-detection AF (let’s hope it comes via firmware update)

But as said, Nikon did lots of other things right. Check out the Nikon Z6 specs at BH and Nikon Z7 specs at BH.

Down below you can find the complete Nikon Z6/7 Vs. Fujifilm X-T3, X-T2, X-H1, GFX 50R and GFX50S comparison. If you prefer, download the PDF comparison file form our dropbox.

Also, Camerasize has now the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 in their database. You can compare it to all the cameras you want at camerasize here. The Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Nikon Z comparisons can be found at photosku.

NOTE: I notice that all our Fujifilm X-T3 rumors keep up getting copied (even the wrong ones ;) ). This means that despite constant shitstorms on FR, they trust and love us. Hence, I send them back some love ?. Just don’t forget to quote fujirumors.com ;)

Fujifilm GFX 50R Announcement NOT in July / August, but Photokina (or shortly before). No Price Set at this Stage

Fujifilm GFX 50R

There is some confusion right now, when the Fujifilm GFX 50R will be announced. June, July, August… simply every date leaks all over the web, except for the correct one ;)

So we confirm again: the Fujifilm GFX 50R will be announced at photokina, or shortly before. And given that Photokina takes place end of September 2018…

Given that the announcement is not imminent, Fujifilm has not yet set a price on it, so at this stage everybody can claim and dream what they want. The only thing we know, is that it will be cheaper than the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

Fujifilm GFX 50R: Concepts of the Most Affordable Digital Medium Format Camera Ever!

It’s no secret anymore that Fujifilm is about to launch the Fujifilm GFX 50R, a much cheaper and rangefinder alike version of the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

Since we shared the first rumor back in December and the latest rumor just last week, our terrific Fujifilm GFX facebook group members not only started dreaming about it, but also designed some concepts.

One of them is Mario C. who made 2 Fujifilm GFX 50R mock-ups (and GFX 100R) I will share in this article. He writes:

“Two ideas for a future Fujifilm GRX. The 100RD rangefinder or the 100XD viewfinder. Both with large LCD touch screen and DIGITAL LCD Dials. Price $2995. Would you like any of these cameras to become a reality? Which one? The RD or the XD?Digital LCD dials are fully programmable. Rotate to change the value. Push and rotate to change the control. Push once to go to a favorite value, push twice to go to another favorite… Etc.”

And remember, tomorrow, April 12, there will be a NON STOP LIVE BLOGGING here on FujiRumors, covering the launch of the Fujinon GF250mmF4 (& more). Stay tuned… and be ready to be blown away by its image quality ;)

Size Comparison: Fujifilm GFX100RF vs GFX50R vs X100VI vs Leica Q3 vs Sony RX1rII vs Hasselblad X2D

Camerasize has added the Fujifilm GFX100RF to their database. Now you can compare its size to any other camera.

In our case we are going to compare the Fujifilm GFX10RF vs GFX50R vs X100VI vs Leica Q3 vs Sony RX1rII vs Hasselblad X2D.

Overall the Fujifilm GFX100RF is indeed very compact for sporting a sensor that is about 70% fuller than full frame.

I know some wish it would have a hybrid viewfinder, IBIS and a faster f/2 lens. But then, besides the much higher price, they’d probably hate the Fujifilm GFX100RF because it is too big to carry around for everyday shooting, which would be the biggest tradeoff of all.

A hybrid viewfinder would have been nice, but I am also fine with a huge and crisp top notch EVF (the GFX100RF has it) instead of a hybrid viewfinder.

And as Fujifilm explained here, the wide lens (plus almost vibration-free leaf shutter) actually allow to shoot at about 1/40th with sharp results. Not to talk of the terrific ISO performance of the GFX system, which also helps to keep shutter speeds higher. But for final judgment here I’ll wait some technical reviews about it. All I have seen demonstrating low shutter speed tests, is a launch video of Vistek (shared in our live blog), in which he showed samples at 1/30th and he was happy with the sharpness. I guess below that it will become harder to get very sharp results handheld.

But if that holds true, then it is indeed a tricky dilemma for Fujifilm: if images are still sharp at 1/30-1/40th of a second, is it still worth to trade off compactness and price for IBIS?

Out of curiosity I checked the shutter speed in my images of my last summer holiday (travels, landscape and city trips with family). When I shot handheld, I have found one image at 1/80th of a second (a picture of my son at sunset in Pienza, Tuscany). Then there are images I shot on tripod anyway because shutter speeds are so low that IBIS can’t help.

So I guess for my use case, IBIS would be nice to have, but the lack of it won’t have a terrible impact on my photography. In most of my images there are people in the frame (my kids, etc), so I can’t go too low with shutter speeds anyway.

Check out the size comparisons below.

Fujifilm FF230002 Registration Found – Expect X-Pro4, X-E5, X-S30, X-T6, X-T40, X-H3, X-H3S, X80, X100VI (X200) and GFX50R Successor Rumors to Magically Appear ;)

Fujifilm has registered the FF230002, so we now have a total of 2 registrations:

  • FF230001
  • FF230002

One of them will certainly be the Fujifilm GFX100 successor, which we already rumored months ago here.

Now, I can see the “rumors” about the Fujifilm GFX50R successor, the Fujifilm X-Pro4, Fujifilm X-E5, Fujifilm X-T6, Fujifilm X-T40, Fujifilm X80, Fujifilm X-H3, Fujifilm X-H3S, Fujifilm X100VI or X200 and more pop up. But those “rumors” appeared also ahead of the X Summit on May 24, and of course none of it materialized. But I guess misleading readers for traffic and good SEO is a great deal for them.

FujiRumors will let you know what the real deal is… clickbait and misleading free as usual ;).

  • FF230002
  • 5.8GHz/5.1GHz/2.4GHz
  • ≤20ppm
  • 5725-5850MHz 5150-5350MHz 2400-2483.5MHz
  • 2023-06-19

The patent has been found at cmiitid by the Japanese website asobinet.
