Fujifilm Registered a Third Camera with Code FF190003

Nokishita spotted that Fujifilm has registered a third camera, the FF190003 here.

So we now have a total of 3 registered cameras:

  • FF190001 = ?
  • FF190002 = X-Pro3
  • FF190003 = ?

Usually it needs a few months, for cameras to be announced after they have been registered.

Guys, Photography Gear is Not Real Estate, or Why We Should not Complain that Fujifilm X-H1 costs $299

The Controversial Deal

So Fujifilm just launched a mega deal on the Fujifilm X-H1, where you can get the X-H1 body with vertical grip and 2 spare batteries for $999.

Even better, if you bundle it with the Fujinon XF8-16mmF2.8, you are basically going to pay the X-H1 with grip $299 only, or $499 if you bundle it with XF16-55mmF2.8.

Now, I understand it can be annoying, that our gear loses a lot of value.

But guys, the sooner we stop considering our gear an investment that has to keep most of its value over time, the earlier we’ll start feeling better.

It is inevitable, because…

Fujifilm X-H1 Costs $ 299 Only if Bundled with Lens

There was some confusion yesterday, since the BHphoto system shows different prices for the X-H1 bundles, depending if you add the free accessories to your purchase or not.

So let me clarify for all:

At the time of this posts, at BHphoto you will get the full discount and best price on the X-H1 + lens bundle, ONLY if you add the “accessories kit” to your purchase.
[Update: BHphoto fixed it now and the discount is available also without the free accessories]

Do that, and you will pay:

So the best deal on X-H1, is if you get it with XF 8-16mm f/2.8, since you are going to pay the camera $299 only. But also bundled to the XF16-55mm f/2.8 you’ll pay only $499 for the X-H1.

And then there is the body only, that, including grip and two spare batteries, costs you only $999.

Not Only Fujifilm X-Pro3: One more Fujifilm Camera Coming in 2019? FF190001 Registered

New Fujifilm Camera

Just recently we reported, that Fujifilm registered a camera with the code name FF190002.

We know that the Fujifilm X-Pro3 is coming. But now nokishita spotted a further registration. It’s the FF190001 (see below).

Usually the time span between registration and announcement is about 1 to 4 months, so we can assume that one more Fujifilm camera is coming in 2019, in addition to the Fujifilm X-Pro3.

I know, given the massive rebate on the Fujifilm X-H1 (which can be purchased for as little as $299 if bundled with the XF8-16), there will be the whole internet world saying this is the Fujifilm X-H1S or Fujifilm X-H2.

Guys, listen to me: it’s not an X-H1 successor! 100% sure. Trust me! It is something else ;). And whoever tells you it’s the X-H2, is just clickbaiting you.

It is also not the Fujifilm X100V, since that one will come out sometimes in 2020 only, so that’s definitely too early to be registered already.

  • FF190001 = ?
  • FF190002 = X-Pro3

So, if you buy the X-H1 today, don’t worry about the FF190001 or FF190002 being its successor.

It’s Crazy: Fujifilm X-H1 now Below $1,000 for Limited Time

Now that’s a steal. The Fujifilm X-H1 is now sold for $999. And bundled with lenses, you still save up to $1,000, which makes the deal even better!

Dear Fujifilm X APS-C Shooters, I didn’t Forget About You (despite GFX100) and Here is a Fujinon XF Lens Roundup

It’s the same old story:

New camera comes, FujiRumors covers its launch, people not interested in that particular camera complain that FR covers that camera.

That’s why, back at the GFX50 launch, I wrote the article, “Dear FR-readers, we have to talk“.

The article was extremely effective, since, using hardcore numbers, it showed how readers perception can be so different from the truth.

But writing that article cost me a lot of time. And I just returned from an 8 hour drive from my holiday in Croatia, and I am exhausted, also because I was on holiday with the SonyAlphaRumors guy, which lead to some epic fanboy fights discussions and photowalks.

So I’ll just say this:

  • FujiRumors is free
  • I write over 1,000 articles a year
  • FujiRumors is a hobby I run in my spare time from my teaching job (and it’s not always easy). Maybe next year I will vlog about a day in FR-life. Bring you inside my teacher day life, so you might understand better how it is to run FR

But who cares. I mean who cares about how much time and effort I put into this. It’s not your business.

Blogging on FR is my passion since 8 years now, and I do it with the joy to share the Fuji passion with all of you.

I ask you just one thing: please, just do not complain, when, in coincidence with the launch of a massive camera like the Fujifilm GFX100, I share a bit more GFX news than usual.

You don’t like it? Just skip the news.

With all that said, of course I do not forget about Fuji’s APS-C system.

And so I thought to dedicated this roundup to the most important part of our beloved APS-C system: the XF lenses.

If you want, down below are about 30 links and videos covering all kind of XF lenses.

2020: A Fuji Odyssey Ends with the Fujinon XF33mm f/1.0, but Do We Really Need it?

Do We Need Super Fast Lenses?

Five years ago, in April 2015 here and May 2015 here, we shared the first Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.0 rumors, and in 2020, this long rumor-odyssey will finally end.

Thanks to the XF33mm f/1.0 we will soon:

  • stop complaining that APS-C does not deliver enough shallow depth of field
  • start complaining that the DOF at f/1.0 is too shallow and we will stop down at f/1.4 or f/2 anyway :)

And, although I am a bit scared about the recently guessed price tag, I am looking forward to this lens.

However, many of you argued in the comments, if such a fast lens really makes sense.

Tony Northrup thinks its makes sense, and in a recent video he even suggested Fujifilm should focus on making even more super fast lenses.

Others think that Fujifilm should focus on smaller, slower, and more affordable lenses.

So the question today is: do we really need the Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.0 R WR?

Today I will go against my own believes, and give you two reasons, why we do not need this lens (and yet I want it badly ;) )

REASON 1: ISO
