It’s done… another Fuji Year is over. I hope I could give you some fun moments in 2016, even though you had to go through a total of 860 articles written in my crappy English ;) .

I’ve tried to give my best, also in my personal email exchange with you (gmail says that I’m now reaching 4,700 emails written in 2016… not counting the easily 1,000+ private messages on Facebook and Twitter).

You can be sure that I’ll put all my passion/fun/excitement (and a lot of time) into this blog also in 2017, in order to make your time here on FujiRumors the most informative & exciting as possible.

TOP Blogger Moment 2016:

• Going to Photokina was, by very far, the highlight of my year. I was undercover, hence 100% anonymous. And I liked it this way. I could watch all the Fujifilm X-photographers, like Kevin Mullins, making their speeches and stage performance, I salivated on the window that protected the GFX, tested out some lenses that I never had the pleasure to play with (like the XF100-400), and I was able to do all this without Fujifilm kicking me out of the booth… wonderful :). And… I have never seen so many X-shooters on one spot, all together, sharing my same passion, with the Fuji X photowalk at the end of the day being the final touch on the top of a wonderful day. I could have stayed there the whole week, but sadly, I had to go back teaching (with some evident difficulties, though ;)).

FLOP Blogger Moment 2016:

• When a trusted source informed me the Fujifilm X-T2 will come in early July (and not in June like originally planed), and I had to cancel my trip to Iceland in order to be able to cover properly the announcement as well as the busy time after the announcement. S*it happens. Next time, Iceland :)

Fujifilm 2017: Massive Rumors Coming
… and how you won’t miss them (New Options!)

I hear whispers… secrets, too fragile to be unveiled at this stage. But whisper can become rumors, and rumors can become facts… and when the moment comes, I will take you with me into the deepest secrets of the Fujifilm rabbit hole. I hope somebody out there will follow me in this journey… and if you do, well, then we are going to have fun! :-)

All I can anticipate now, is that the Fuji year 2016 was great for sure… but you will also love to see what hits the market in 2017 ♥. Fujifilm X100F, GFX and X-T20 as well as new lenses… and, who knows… maybe some surprises. And I’m sure of one thing: even the last folks out there, who ignored Fujifilm so far, will hear the name of the cameras we’ve learned to love so much :-)

So, Photokina is over. The most important announcements have been done. So it’s high time to put some order in the remaining rumors.

But first some facts:

• 650+ blog post published in 2016 so far
• 101 rumors shared in 2016
• 13 rumors still to be verified
• 81 correct rumors (+1 one more correct, but not in ranking. Read why at the bottom of this post)
• 8 wrong rumors (but actually at least 4 of them were right at the time of sharing. It’s just Fuji that changed plans… that’s the risk I pay for sharing early rumors, and I accept that)
• 91% correct rumors shared so far in 2016 (and it would be at least 95+%, if Fuji wouldn’t have changed plans on some long term rumors)

And now… what to expect next!

I don’t think Fujifilm will launch much more in 2016… but surprises are always possible. If I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

In 2017 we should see the X100F and the X-T20. And of course the Medium Format Fujifilm GFX will hit the market. It’s also rumored that Profoto will add flash support for X-series cameras. And maybe, so my hope (but not a rumor), after some small and compact weather sealed lenses (35, 23, 50, 80), Fujifilm will also work again on the long rumored 8-16, 33/1 and 200. NOTE: the 33/1 and 200 were rumored in 2015, so they are not included in the 2016 overview.

Sounds already now like a very interesting 2017… and I’m confident Fujifilm will surprise us with something more. Stay tuned on FujiRumors to find it out.
