Ok, this is the X-E2s… an X-E2 with an “s”marking and with a slightly different hand grip. And the hand grip might be already the only “hardware-improvement” compared to the X-E2 (still 16MP X-TransII sensor and EXR II Processor, no tilt screen)
The improvements are Firmware based, like the Electronic shutter, New AF-system and Classic Chrome (CC already available alsoin X-E2. X-E2s will not have new X-Pro2 Acros film simulation).
According to a source, who was right in the past (thanks), Fujifilm is right now putting lots of R&D into creating a complete new interchangeable lenses Medium Formatcamera system (so no fixed lens MF).
Of course, take the grain of salt. This is still Not really the Medium Format Rumor Breakthrough we are waiting for, since, until now, no trusted source confirmed that Fuji is really working on it!
And while I’m dazzled by this rumor, I know that a humble enthusiast photographer like me is probably not the target of such a camera, and it would be out of my budget anyway (not even tax deduction for teachers buying cameras :( ).
But I believe that an interchangeable lenses Medium Format Fuji could find its niche amongst PRO’s and turn out to be a profitable business for Fujifilm.
Now, I have no idea how much this camera would cost, but if it was priced somewhere between the Pentax 645D and the Pentax 645Z digital MF cameras, then the MF-Fuji might even become Fujifilm’s new golden egg laying goose (this, and the Hello Kitty Instax, of course :) ).
It’s hard to get on MF rumors, really hard… but it’s not a Mission Impossible. So stay tuned on FR via Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter,
I’ll try to get a confirmation by trusted sources ASAP… since then, take the grain of salt, and then start dreaming :)

I have the long expected “OK” from the source, and so here it is, the hottest rumor I’ve every published. Just sit down before reading ;).
A source, who was right in the past (!!) told me that Fuji is forging, in secret, a Master Medium-Format Camera! (as some of you correctly guessed at the brand new Fuji X Forum… but some other great ideas amongst it, too. Just read them here if you want)
I know you are dazzled just like me. But I still recommend you to take the grain of salt for 2 reasons:
1) the source was right in the past, but is not yet trusted. 2) the Medium Format Fuji release is everything else but imminent. This is the real crazy variable… I’ve seen Fuji too many times changing plans, even after having tested prototypes. So I’ll wait for a trusted source feedback to be 99% sure.
For these two reasons I’m just 75% to 80% sure for now that it will come… again: the release is everything else but imminent!
And before you start saying it’s the usual FR BS, I’ve just checked all the rumors shared so far in 2015… out of 37 verifiable rumors shared in 2015, 34 were correct so far (91% correct). I really try to be accurate, folks.
Now, this is just the very beginning of the Medium Format rumor. Will it be something similar in design and size like Fuji’s glorious GF670? Or will it have more a design of the Medium Format Pentax 645D? Work in progress ;)

Iridient Developer vs Lightroom – A Detailed Comparison at alikgriffin / My final thoughts on Capture One Pro 8 and Fuji X-Trans Files at 13thfloorphotography
Mike: “Not a rumor, but a question to share. As I continue to use the X system as my only tools, I find that the main downfall to the X-T1 for fast motorsport work is the lag in the viewfinder when shooting CH, when you pause, you loose your target. What do your readers think of adapting some sort of Sport Finder to the shoe? This could eliminate the problem of loosing and regaining your target. This problem does not exist with the 100 series or the slower XPro1, as there was the ability to view a pass-thru in the viewfinder with those. What do you think? Worth passing on to your Fuji contacts?”
LeFred: “Hi Patrick! You made a poll about a monochrome sensor. There is another feature that would make an X-Pro2 or any other high-end camera stand out : Eye Controlled Focusing. From Wikipedia : “Through the tracking of eyeball movements, EOS cameras equipped with eye-controlled focusing (ECF) (some identifiable by the suffix E) were able to select the desired autofocus point in the scene, based on where the user was looking in the viewfinder frame. ECF was especially useful in sports photography where the subject may shift its position in the frame rapidly. EOS cameras equipped with ECF were the EOS A2E (U.S. model names are shown; see the table below for equivalents in other countries), EOS Elan IIE, EOS IXe, EOS-3, EOS Elan 7E, and EOS Elan 7NE. Canon did not continue its use of eye-controlled focusing in its digital SLRs. The EOS Elan 7NE was the last EOS camera to have this function.”
Lamartiny: “Hi Patrick, I have just read your Open Letter to Fujifilm about Kaizen e Firmware update. I sugest you to add another approach in your list, is a path that Canon made allowing the “parallel” firmware modification wiht MagicLantern (http://www.magiclantern.fm/about.html). Read a bit about it and you’ll figure out that it’s a good way where Fuji can avoid spend a lot of money to keep updated old cameras but still possible the community do this. Beside this the community can implement feature never imagined by Fuji. Things like this happened to Apple and Jailbrake, feature ware implemented by Apple after Jailbrake had already implemented. So, I hope you like and embrace this idea.”
In PART 1 of his review, jonasjacobsson tested the autofocus speed of XF 50-140 (on a X-T1). The subject? A dog running full speed in any direction. So how did it work? From the conclusions.
“The toughest test was for sure the first one, when he came towards me, resulting in 5 missed shots. Otherwise, for the most part, the lens performed admirably. Fast and accurate. And like I stated above, some of the missed once are a result of me not being used to shoot fast-moving dogs and it was really hard to predict the movement sometimes, so do keep that in mind. Without a doubt this is the best lens suited for action and sports among the Fuji lenses. In terms of autofocus speed the XF 50-140 is miles ahead of the slower XF 55-200, along with many other advantages like weather sealing and a fast constant aperture of f/2.8. It is however also almost 2.5-3 times as pricy as the older sibling. Once you lock on target the lens tend to keep that focus very well unless you do a some drastic movement that might interfere.”
“Image quality is fantastic throughout regardless of focal length, with pleasingly sharp details and accurate focus. Without Fuji’s current speed king, the X-T1, I wasn’t able to test out the upper end of its autofocus abilities, but it performed quickly enough on my trusty X-E2. As for bokeh, out-of-focus background elements were generally smooth and not distracting, meaning this should be a solid portrait lens if that’s your thing.”

Fiji Workshop
F Stop Lounge just announced their Fiji (not Fuji ;)) workshop 2015. Many PRO’s will share their knowledge with you, and amongst the others also X-photographers such as Elia Locardi. Check out more at F-StopLounge.
BHphoto is offering the X-E1 with 18-55 zoom lens for just $699 here. This is $400 less than the price at AmazonUS. Considering that the lens alone is sold for $629, you basically get the X-E1 for $70. But act fast, the deal expires on December 9.
If you are looking for the cheapest way to enter the Fuji X MILC world, then you should take a look at the X-A1 offers at Adorama. They sell the X-A1 with 16-50 & 50-230 for $499!
