Three Fujifilm Cameras Registered, But When Will they Come? Time Span Between Fujifilm X/GFX Registrations and Announcement

Fujifilm has recently registered three cameras:

The inevitable question that pops up in the comments when this happens, is how long the time span is between registration of a camera and its announcement.

To answer that, I looked back to the past time span between registrations and announcements, and here is what we see:

  • 1 month = 4 cameras (X-T2, X-E3, X-T100, X-T30)
  • 2 months = 3 cameras (X-T20, X100F, XF10)
  • 3 months = 3 cameras (X-T3, GFX50R, GFX100)
  • 6 months = 1 camera (X-H1)

It’s clear that we usually get a camera between 1 and 3 months after registration (with exception of X-H1, which needed 6 months).

Clearly this would indicate of 3 cameras coming within November, although the X-H1 shows that a longer wait is not impossible, hence an announcement within February 2020 (6 months).

What could these cameras be?

The contact form on FujiRumors is open for any hint (thanks), and the comments for the wildest speculations :).

New Fujifilm Summer Deals: Save up to $500 on X and GFX Cameras

The Fujifilm summer deals are back.

This time, the deals include Fujifilm’s rangefinder styled cameras, but no X of G mount lenses.

I remind you that the Fujifilm X-Pro3 is coming this year, as FujiRumors already told you months ago. That’s the reason for the nice X-Pro2 price drop. And also my lovely X-E3 gets a discount.

The Rise of Chinese Lenses and Top 7 Chinese Fujifilm X Mount Lenses

The Rise of Chinese Lenses

In the last few weeks, we covered a couple of new Chinese Fujifilm X mount lenses here on FujiRumors, such as the brand new 7Artisans 60mm F2.8 1:1 Macro and the Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 MK II.

In 2019, a lot of buzz has been created also by the first third-party reverse-engineered autofocus X mount lens, the Chinese Viltrox 85mmF1.8, whereas in 2018 the Lawoa 9mm f/2.8 was the very best seller here on FujiRumors (yep, it sold better than ANY Fujinon XF lens amongst FR-readers).

Chinese lenses: the price is (mostly) low, the quality goes up and the sales explode!

Here are the best selling ones.

  1. Meike 35mm f/1.7
  2. Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 AF
  3. Neewer 25mm f/1.8
  4. 7Artisans 35mm f/1.2
  5. Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 MKII
  6. Meike MK 25mm F1.8
  7. Meike MK-35mm F/1.4

It looks like the lable “made in China” is no longer something photographers are too skeptical of.

Today I’d like to ask you if you own any of these lenses, and if you want, you can share your feedback in the comments down below. Your feedback might be helpful for the rest of the Fujifilm community.

Fujifilm GFX100 Sets New Benchmark in DPReview Studio Scene

Fujifilm GFX100

The first test was flawed, so DPReview had to update its Fujifilm GFX100 studio test scene

They now published the new results, and in their own words:

As you can see, the camera is extremely sharp and capable of resolving nearly everything in our test scene. Many of the finest targets that exhibit aliasing on the already impressive GFX 50R (shot with the same lens) are more convincingly resolved by the 100MP camera, meaning that its images look better than the older camera’s shots do, even when downscaled to the same resolution.”

In short: it’s the best camera ever tested, and they now borrowed a 150MP Phase One IQ4 to try to beat it!

Check out the results at DPReview here.

Oh Boy, I loved shooting the GFX100 this weekend!
