Fujifilm X100F Firmware Update 1.01 Available

I’ve already reported about the Firmware update for Fujifilm GFX, X-T2, X-Pro2, X-T20 and X-T1 earlier today first here on FujiRumors.

Well, Fujifilm also released the Firmware update for X100F. The firmware update Ver.1.01 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

  1. The phenomenon is fixed that ISO cannot be changed by the command dial when ISO is set to AUTO by Camera Remote via WiFi connection to a smartphone or a tablet.
  2. When a camera turns on in MF mode, the focus position comes to the original position where a camera turned off.
  3. The phenomenon is fixed that in MF mode, a focus can shift in a specified condition (ex. repeated CL shooting).
  4. Improvement of operability for the command dials.

You can download the X100F Firmware 1.01 here.

Ok, I’ll admit it… sometimes I wake up, in the middle of the night, after having had a crazy dream. I dream I’m selling all my X-gear and buy the X100F with TCL and WCL… and that’s it.

And you know what? The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. I guess that, at this stage, it’s only the Fujifil X-E3 that keeps from doing the switch to the X100F.

The X100F with TCL/WCL would be such a wonderful and light mini system… so should I switch? And which color? I’d get it in silver. I think that rangefinder cameras with OVF look better in silver, whereas those with EVF only (like the X-E line) look better in black.

And now, after this confession… a bunch of X100F links :)

There are many fellow camera friends out there, who are still waiting for their X100F to come and/or have a hard time to find it in stock.

Till then, you can enjoy the great images photographers all around the world are sharing at the X100F facebook group and also check out the links below, for more images and reviews.

There is also a little bit of pixel peeping, although I know that X100 lovers are usually not really hard core pixel peepers.

New Firmware for Fujifilm X100F and X-T20 Coming in Autumn, 2017

Happy Monday, fellow X and G Shooters!

Let’s start the week with a rumor, but take this one with an extra grain of salt, because it’s not only a quite long term rumor, but also a firmware rumor.

With that said, here is what I’ve just heard.

According to a source, right in the past, Fujifilm is planing a firmware update for Fujifilm X100F and Fujifilm X-T20 in autumn 2017.

I have no indication about what it will bring. I doubt it will be huge firmware update, like the one the X-T2 recently got, but it could definitely be a “Kaizen light” firmware update.

I’ll investiagte this, and update you guys as soon as I hear something new. So stay tuned on FujiRumors via Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

And I remind you that Fujifilm announced firmware updates for Fujifilm GFX, X-T2 and X-Pro2 in late May.

Fujifilm X100F: “Passion for Photography Condensed to a Little Beautiful Box” :: Ken Rockwell X100F Review :: Dust Proof X100F Viewfinder & More

Fujifilm X100F Zone

Time for another dedicated roundup about Fujifilm’s most sexy camera, the Fujifilm X100F. But it does not look only super-good, it also takes gorgeous images, as you can see at our 8,000+ Fujifilm X100F facebook group. I’ll just share 3 images from the group down below.

But let’s start with the ThePhotonauts video review that I’ve shared at the top of this article. I’d like to highlight the final conclusions the reviewer makes, because I think he really brings the whole X100F (and Fuji X) shooting experience to the point. ThePhotonauts says:

Fujifilm X cameras have helped me to enjoy photography again, when I had a big low in my career a few years ago. The X100 series is what started it all, but to this day and with the latest iteration, this hasn’t changed one bit.

Some of you may not get the same vibe, but to me and many others, these cameras are passion for photography condensed to a little beautiful box.

Just looking at it makes me want to get out and shoot. I think that’s more than I could ever have asked from any camera.”

And now a few more X100F links to enjoy :)

Fujifilm X100F HACK: How to Convert Old WCL-X100 and TCL-X100 into Version II with Magnets :)

When Fujifilm launched the Fujifilm X100F, they also annouced a new TCL-X100 ver.II and WCL-X100 ver.II.

This second version of the WCL and TCL are optically identical to the first generation. What changes, though, is that inside the WCL and TCL ver.2, there is a little magnet, placed in different positions. These magnets allow the Fujiiflm X100F to automatically recognize if the WCL or TCL is attached, since they are designed to match one of to two magnets placed inside the 23mm lens of the X100F.

That’s handy :)

Now, if you already own the first generation WCL or TCL, you might not have to purchase the second version WCL or TCL, to enjoy this feature.

In fact, FR-reader Haoyuan came up with a “hack”, that makes the old WCL/TCL recognizable by the X100F. You just need 2mm x 1mm magnets, an electrical tape (or a Blu-Tack Adhesive), Plastic Tweezers, Sharpies, and a permanent adhesive (optional). And how exactly does it work? Well, jump over at haoyuanren to find out more :)

I wish you guys a GREAT weekend :)

Another one Hacked it too, using the magnet that comes with the X100F box and a gaffertape. You can’t do it cheaper :)

TIPA Awards 2017: Fujifilm Most Awarded Camera Company. Prizes to GFX, X-T2, X-T20, X100F and XF23mmF2

If you were lucky enough to attend the Photokina 2016 (like me), you will have noticed that the by very far busiest booth was the one of Fujifilm. So it was clear to me, that Fujifilm must have done many things right over the last year, in order to attract all these people.

So it’s not really a surprise, that the latest Fujifilm products are highly awarded. I’ve already reported how:

  • the Fujifilm X-T2 got the Gold Award at DPReview (story here)
  • 14 Fujifilm products won the IF Design awards (story here)
  • the Fujifilm GFX got the DPReview Gold Award (story here)
  • the Fujifilm X100F earned the DPReview Gold Award (story here)
  • 17 Fujifilm products won the red dot design award (story here)
  • the Fujifilm X-T20 got the DPReview silver award (story here)
  • Only the Fujifilm X-System broke the DSLR Hegemony at World Press Photo Awards (story here)
  • at the DPReview Awards 2016, DPReview declared the Fujifilm X-T2 and Nikon D500 “Way in Front of the Rest” (story here)
  • the Fujifilm X-Pro2 Best Professional CSC and XF100-400 Best CSC Zoom Lens won the EISA Awards (story here)

Well, Fujifilm now sets another record. At this years’ TIPA Awards (2017), it is the most awarded camera company out there, with a total of 5 awards for:

As usual, at such competitions, there is an award for basically every brand out there. But it might be still significant, that Fujifilm is the most awarded brand.
