And we also have the price for you.

The Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6 will cost €3,899 in Europe. So far I have no indication about the price in US Dollar.

Fujifilm X100VI – A Massive Roundup: 40MP Sharper than 26MP (Spoiler: YES!) and Much More!

Don’t Panic ! :)

A Hello Kitty Fujifilm X100VI?

Well, Fujifilm has given us Hello Kitty Fujifilm camera in the past. :)

But don’t panic. As far as I know Fujifilm has no plans to launch such a version. But maybe you can ask fellow FR-reader Christian about it, since he shared it in the comments on FR here. But until I don’t hold this Hello Kitty thing in my own hands, I will trust this is a rendering

The true undertaking by Fujifilm is not launching new X100VI special versions, but deliver the regular ones that are on order and people are waiting for.

And if you are waiting for your copy too, here is a roundup for you.

Lots is covered. From the comprehensive review made by Pal2Tech to the take of PetaPixel and the Northrups on the X100VI, an in-depth review of Gordon from Cameralabs and also some channels that are currently smaller, but do a great service to the Fujifilm community, such as the one of Luca Petralia.

In the first video shared below, The Hybrid Shooter looks at the resolving power of the 40MP X100VI over the 26MP X100V. His conclusion: there is definitely a sharpness boost and added crop capability. So if sharper images and more cropping power is what you want, then the X100VI will do the job.

Fujifilm Discontinues Legendary Fujinon XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 Lens – Long Live the XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8

I can say I was there.

I was there, when Fujifilm launched what would become their all time bestseller, the Fujinon XF18-55mm f/2.8-4.

I was there to blog about it, to talk about… and to buy it for myself.

And actually, I bought two of them.

The first one I destroyed it when I had to jump into the Mekong river (story here – only the legendary Fujinon XF35mm f/1.4 survived that adventure, the rest of my gear broke).

I loved the XF18-55 so much that I bought a new one after destroying the first one.

The second sample did stick with me until I decided to sell it along with my XF55-200mm, in order to replace both of those lenses with the king of versatility, the Fujinon XF18-135mm.

I have had wonderful years with my Fujinon XF18-55mmF2.8-4. It has taken some of my favorite images. And I am sure it has given great joy to many other fellow X shooters out there.

But now it is time also for this glorious lens to retire.

Because the Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 is coming on May 16

As a consequence, the first stores in Japan are starting to mark the Fujinon XF18-55mmF2.8-4 as discontinued as reported by asobinet.

The Fujinon XF16-50mm will certainly be a fantastic lens. We leaked the images, we reported about the internal zoom, it will be sharper than the XF18-55mm, weather sealed and what not. But the XF18-55mm will always have a special place in the hearts of many as one of the best kit lenses ever made by any company.

Fujifilm GFX100SII goes Retro or PSAM? Here is the Answer!

Fujifilm GFX100SII

If there is one camera I am asking for since a long time, than it’s a GFX100 that looks like a Fujifilm X-T camera.

A camera that Fujifilm had actually already shown us in form of a mockup here.

And when FujiRumors started to share the first Fujifilm GFX100SII rumors, suddenly “rumors” about the GFX100SII started to appear pretty much everywhere.

One of them was shared here, and it was given to us 100% rocksolid. The rumor said the Fujifilm GFX100SII will certainly have a retro layout like the X-T5.

Of course I was super excited about it and at the same time hopeful that our sources would confirm it.

Well, now our sources have spoken. Trusted sources. And here is what they have to say about.

The Fujifilm GFX100SII will not use retro dials, but have the usual PSAM dial we already know from the new GFX100II as well as the GFX100S and GFX50SII.

Don’t get me wrong: PSAM cameras are easy and fast to operate. Nobody denies that. And I can live happily with my PSAM styled GFX100S cameras. It would just be even more fun (and better looking) if it would have retro dials.

Fujifilm X Summit on May 16: What is Coming and What Not, What is Rumored and What We Hope For

So Fujifilm has announced the Fujifilm X summit for May 16.

We reported about it earlier today and in that article I also said that our sources told us the Fujifilm GFX100SII will be announced on that day.

Now the question came up if that’s the only gear Fujifilm will announce. So let me try to give you an answer.

First things first: so far I have only been told about the Fujifilm GFX100SII coming mid May.

However, we also know Fujifilm has other gear in the pipeline for the first half of 2024:

The questions are:

  • will Fujifilm announce it all together?
  • does Fujifilm prefer to give the GFX100SII a dedicated launch day, and make a separate announcement for the X-T50 and the new kit lens?
  • did I share a wrong rumor?

Well… don’t worry. We don’t share wrong rumors here. Everything will happen as we tell you it will.

But I will contact our sources and see what they have to say about it. And as soon as I can I will share an update here on FujiRumors.

And beyond that?

Well, the only gear Fujifilm has pre-announced, is the Fujinon GF500mmF5.6, but that one is listed on the official G mount roadmap as coming sometimes in 2024. So it could be on May 16, but also later on.

What’s not coming is definitely the Fujifilm X-Pro4 and also no Fujifilm GFX100R.

Hopes?

Well, I am growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of a new X mount roadmap. I keep asking for a new one since years and Fujifilm keeps ignoring our wishes. So at this point I have no expectations anymore.

Anyway… answers will come. Some of them on May 16, but many other answers will come well before that.

Stay tuned on FujiRumors ;).
