Tony Northrup Fujifilm 2019 Predictions: Fujinon XF 400mm2.8, 70mm1.0, 16-55mm1.8, 50-120mm1.8 and 16mm1.0

Fujifilm 2019 Predictions

It’s time for gear predictions!

Techradar started here, by predicting the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and maybe also the Fujifilm X100F successor in 2019.

Now it’s time for Tony and Chelsea Northrup to predict new gear.

Tony says he noticed a trend at Fujifilm, which is making full frame equivalent fast lenses (XF200mmF2, XF8-16mmF2.8, XF33mmF1.0). Hence, according to his predictions, Fujifilm will launch:

Over a year ago, I told you that Fujifilm will NOT launch more than 2/3 X and 2/3 GF lenses a year (at least not until they finish to expand their lens factories).

And since Fujifilm already has 2 lenses scheduled for this year (the XF16mmF2.8 and XF16-80mmF4), I’d not expect more than 1 “surprise” lens to come (if any).

Fujifilm GFX50S: Can Hasselblad Compete With Fujifilm, GFX 50S vs Nikon D850 vs Sony A7RIII vs Canon EOS 5DS, Gigapixel Image

Fujifilm GFX

With the release of the more affordable, smaller and lighter Fujifilm GFX50R, Fujifilm has dropped the price of the Fuji GFX50S to $5,499 (check BHphoto, Adorama and AmazonUS).

The Fujifilm GFX 50S might be still more expensive over the “R”, but if offers features the Fujifilm GFX50R does not have, such as the 3 way tilt screen, a tiltable and ultra large EVF, top LCD screen and more.

And after months of buzz only around the Fujifilm GFX50R, I decided to decdicate a roundup to the Fujifilm GFX50S only.

And at the bottom you will find a few images from our gigiantic Fujifilm GFX facebook group.

Fujifilm X-Pro3 (and Fujifilm X200?) Coming in 2019 According to Techradar

Fujifilm 2019 Techradar Predictions

According to techradar predictions, the Fujifilm X-Pro3 will come in 2019. And they seem pretty confident about that, since they write here:

We’ve pooled together what we know for sure with our predictions for the next twelve months.”

Less likely, but also a possibility according to techradar is the Fujifilm X100F successor (may it be called Fujifilm X200 or Fuji X100V or anything else).

If techradar is accurate, this means that Fujifilm changed their usual camera-refresh cycle, and that they will not skip one sensor/processor generation with the Fujifilm X-Pro3, as they did with the X-Pro2.

Here on FujiRumors we have already shared Fujifilm X-Pro3 concepts and wish lists.

Oh, and did you know that the Fujfiilm X-T30 is just around the corner? ;)

Fujifilm X-T3 Lensmate Thumbrest Available

The Lensmate Fujifilm X-T3 Thumbrest is now available in black.

  • Note the X-T3 thumbrest will not fit the X-T2, see our other listing on Amazon. No-compromise design specifically for the Fujifilm X-T3 with ideal length and curve geometry
  • Makes one-handed operation easier and retains access to all controls while preventing unintentional button presses
  • Integrated silicone insert provides thumb grip and bumper between camera body and thumb grip
  • Hidden silicone insert in hot shoe tab provides resistance to unintentional ejection
  • Since the X-T3 has a threaded shutter release all our custom soft release buttons will fit. See our other listings

Lensmate says they are still working with their Anodizer on a Silver X-T3 Thumbrest, because the Fujifilm X-T3 Silver topped camera is slightly darker than, say the X100F, it is challenging to get a satisfactory finish.
