Bad News (Again) :: Fujifilm EF-X500 Flash Postponed To September!!!

dd

_ _ _

I’ve already told you about it last month with this rumor: the EF-X500 Flash will be delayed… again!

Sure, it was not just Fuji’s fault. For example, nobody could have predicted the Metz insolvency (who should have produced the Fujifilm branded flash). But for one reason or another, we waited and waited… and it never came.

But back at the X-Pro2 launch in January, Fujifilm was sure: the EF-X500 will hit the market in May 2016.

Well, something went wrong… again… and Fuji just officially said the release has been pushed back again to September 2016. Here is the google translated press release.

_ _ _

So what… when will the Fujifilm X-T2 be announced… in June or July?

It’s not that easy to give a definitive answer… the earthquake in Japan, the strong X-Pro2 sales, last minutes bugs and what not can influence Fuji’s decision about the X-T2 launch anytime.

But, looking at the way things are going at the moment, everything is pointing towards…

RUMOR :: Fuji X100T Successor still with 23mm lens! (SRP)

X00

[wysija_form id=”1″]

_ _ _

In the past I’ve shared an anonymous rumor, which said that the X100T successor will have a 18.5mm lens (28 equiv.). Well, I have to correct that now, since, according to a source right in the past, the X100T successor will still have a 23mm (35mm equiv.) lens.

And looking at the Poll results, that’s a good news for most out there.

Which equivalent focal length would you prefer?

.
But does this mean it will be the same lens of the X100, X100S and X100T? I don’t think so. While the X100T successor will keep the classic 23mm focal length, a SRP told us here that Fuji is designing a new lens. And considering that the camera will very likely feature the new X-TransIII sensor (rumor here), it makes perfectly sense to me… new sensor – new lens.

That’s if for now… stay tuned for more rumors :-)

have a great day,

Peter Thoshinsky‎: “Central Booking”
San Francisco, California, 2016

Officer Darla McBride completes primary booking at Central Police Station on Thursday April 21st, 2016.

Going to take a little time to geek out on photography and such.

If you are not interested in the art of photography this will be of zero interest to you.

This image was taken with a Fujifilm X-T1, 18mm f2 (28mm equivalent), shot in RAW, and worked up in Lightroom and monochrome converted in Silver Efex Pro2.

If I were to show you the original image it is bland and flat, as is the nature of a RAW image. This isn’t dis-similar to a straight printed traditional darkroom negative. Mr. Adams himself never displayed a straight print, and neither should you. The straight image does nothing to project the feeling of this dirty, smelly, decades old jail area. The graffiti and cracking of the concrete, the age of the location, are obvious in person. It is not so obvious in the RAW image, or even in a camera boosted jpeg.

It’s a depressing little 12×12 foot tank.

As a photographer we try to express more than a visual representation, we need to present an emotional representation, one that accurately reflects the scene.

That’s the role of a photographer.
