X30 rumor update: 6 functions buttons and view mode button

 photo x30tiltmockup_zps59576f96.jpg

Here is one more little update on the X30 front:

A source, who was right in the past (SRP), said that the X30 will feature a view mode button (I’d love that on my X-E2!!!) and a have 6 function buttons.

I hear you asking for the price, and that is often one of the trickiest part of rumors. But let’s say that the rumored specs list is correct, what is the maximum you would spend for it?

Fujifilm X30: Announcement August 26? With 3“ Tilt Screen & WiFi (with remote control)

 photo x30tiltmockupAnnouc_zps76c272da.jpg

Announcement

An anonymous source told me that the Fujifilm X30 will be announced on the 26th of August. It confirms it has the same lens and sensor of the Fujifilm X20, it’s a bit bigger, has quite a different design than the X20, features a fast EVF and WiFi. It also confirms the new film simulation mode ‘Classic Chrome’ (we first heard from a source, who was right in the past, about the Classic Chrome film simulation. Now, apparently, the Fujifilm X30 will be the first camera featuring it).

I’ll try to confirm the announcement date with trusted sources. For now, take it with a grain of salt.

Nevertheless, in the meantime, mark the date, and stay tuned on Fujirumors. Follow FR on facebook, google+, RSS-feed and twitter

MORE SPECS

Now, also other 2 sources shared some specs, which are not really a surprise, but I’ll share them out of a pre-emptive self-defense, because if I wouldn’t share it, there would be some reproaching me for not being able to see it coming ;-). The rumors come from a new soure and an anonymous source, but, as said, I really think that this will be part of the new features of the X30.

– The X30 will feature a 3“ Tilt Screen (2.8-inch on the X20) and the a 2/3 12MP sensor X-Trans II – (anonymous source).

– It will have the WiFi with remote control capability and the exposure compensation dial will go from +/-3. (new source)

Time to upgrade the rumored specs list again:

X30 lens: 28-112mm f/2-2.8 (same as X20)… but with dual ring (SRP)!

 photo x30mockup_zps9602bde0.jpg

A source, who was right in the past (SRP), claims to have the following information: the lens on the X30 will remain the same (28-112mm f/2-2.8)! Also a new source shared with me the same information, thanks!

But, always according to the source, who was right in the past, the X30 will feature a new dual ring on the lens (Zoom ring + Control Ring).

Although the source was right in the past, I invite you to take it still with a grain of salt.

EDIT: Someone asked in the comments what a control ring is. Well, check out Fuji’s XQ1 page and you’ll learn more about it.

Three non-interchangeable lens X-cameras coming within this winter? X30, X100T and ? (anonymous source)

 photo whatathaJPEG_zpsd5ee7f77.jpg

First off: please take this rumor with a grain of salt. It comes from an anonymous source (with nick-name), so for now you should take it as a low rated rumor and not as a fact.

That said, here is what the anonymous source told us: Fuji will launch 3 non-interchangeable X-series cameras within this Winter. The source didn’t say anything else.

X30, X100T and ?

In the past we’ve heard rumors about an X70 (a cheaper version of the X100S). I know it was in Fuji’s plans last year, but, as far as I know, Fuji rejected projects for such a camera. So I don’t think it will be the X70 (but with Fuji you never know as they change plans often and quickly… which really drives me mad !!)

So, until now I’ve heard of an X30 and X100T. At the moment, I’ve honestly no idea what the third camera could be, but I promise you to follow the hint and try to dig up something for you…

… and in the meantime, the comments are open for your thoughts and wishes. An X100Z with zoom lens? A hybrid pixel or organic sensor camera? Whatever you dream of, feel free to drop it in the comments down below.

And of course, any help is highly appreciated (and in case you use the rumor box, feel free to use a nick-name).

Long Live the Fuji X30: Battery life better than X-T1 + USB charging (anonymous source)

 photo EVFONLY_zps7ee85cbd.jpg

The X30 might be the next release in Fuji’s house. And a good soul out there decided to share, anonymously (and unfortunately didn’t even use a nick name), the following rumor with all of us.

The X30 will have a much longer battery life (the source said “over 400 shots”. The X20 can take about 270 shots, while the X-T1 approx. 350 frames). Plus: you’ll be able to charge it via USB cable.

The anonymous source didn’t say if Fuji will continue to include an external charger too, or just an USB-cable… and as I cannot contact it directly, well, in case you read this post dear source, please let us know (if you know).

For now, please take it with a grain of salt.

However, the question now is: do you prefer the classic external charger or the USB-charging? Feel free to drop your thoughts in the comments and to vote the poll.

X30 coming on July 3rd? (via dpreview)

 photo disc_zps3d7370f3.jpg

silver X20 discontinued at BHphoto

X20 (save $50): AmazonUS / BHphoto / Adorama / Pictureline

Hi all!

There is a forum member over at dpr, who claims to have the following information:

The X30 will be annonced on July 3rd. It will have a 1″ X-Trans sensor. There will also be a “cheaper compact based on the X100.” (the X70 rumored by Fujirumos already months ago here).

The source of the rumor? Well, the author (“labe”) gives different sources for his information (at one point saying “XJR china” (xjrumo) and another point saying “PM from a friend”).

I have to agree with FR-reader John (who passed me the link, thanks): „I guess it might be slightly more reliable (but only slightly) if there’s some photography event that day.“

The X30 was rumored to come in February/March by digicame-info. A FR-source corrected it and said that it was to early, as it will come in “summer”.

X20 discontinued at B&H… X30 (with sensor bigger than 1“) on the way?

 photo disc_zps3d7370f3.jpg

These days, all eyes are set (deservedly) on the umpteenth version of Sony’s RX100, the RX100MIII. It’s crazy how frenetically Sony updates its products (see also the Sony A7-R-K-S).

That’s not really the same policy of Fuji. The X-PRO1 is about 2 ½ years old, and still hasn’t been replaced. And of the 13 X-cameras currently available, only 4 were replaced by newer models in about 3 years (X10=X20, XF1=XQ1, X-E1=X-E2, X100=X100S). Fujifilm seems to focus more on firmware updates to improve the performance of older cameras. This Kaizen philosophy might be bad for electronic imaging field of the company (which is still losing money), but it’s definitely good for us customers.

Now, one of the next cameras that could be replaced in foreseeable future is the X20. The X30 is rumored to come in “summer”, and, as the usually well informed xjrumo said months ago, the sensor will be bigger than the 1” sensor of the RX100III.

Another hint that the X30 could be in the pipeline: the silver X20 is already discontinued at BHphoto… and US stores that have some left in stock, are selling it now with a $50 price drop. Check it out at AmazonUS / BHphoto / Adorama / Pictureline.

And what do you think? Should Fuji follow Sony’s path and release udpated cameras with new (even minor) hardware changes more often (e.g. X-PRO1S)? Over at the Fujirumors facebook page Anurag said that Sony is “keeping up with the market“, while Olle said: “I myself value a brand that constantly keeps improving their current firmwares and meanwhile produces cameras with bigger improvements (x-t1) and great lenses. I work in a camera store and if its something the nex-users are asking for its the non existens nex lenses.

So the question is, if it’s better to launch an X-PRO1S/T/N or whatever, instead of waiting 3 years for the “major breakthrough” promised by Fuji with the X-PRO2.
