LEAKED: First Fujifilm X-T5 Images

So guys, these are the first leaked images of the Fujifilm X-T5.

Anyone of you guys can make a size comparison with other Fujifilm models? At the moment I am super busy, so if anybody can, feel free to make it and share it in the comments or send them to me via fujirumor@gmail.com.

With most of the specs of the Fujifilm X-T5 now leaked, I thought it could be useful for some of you to get an overview on how it compares to other Fujifilm X series cameras.

So we are going to compare the following cameras:

Fujifilm X-T5 Pre-Orders Very Likely to Start Nov.2 at 10 AM EDT (1 Hour After the X Summit at 9AM EDT)

Many FR-reader have the same problem I have: when the heck can we finally pre-order the Fujifilm X-T5?

And since this question came up often in the last few days, here is my best answer.

In all X summits I can remember, pre-orders started 1 hour after after the start of the X summit.

This means that since the next X summit starts at 9AM EDT (Nov.2), pre-orders should start at 10AM EDT (Nov.2).

Of course this is just an educated guess based on the history of every X summit we have ever seen. But I can’t exclude that for the first time ever Fujifilm will change the “pre-order embargo” strategy.

Fujifilm X-T5 Dominates Views on FR and Targets to Dethrone X-T4 and X100V as All Time Best Selling Camera on FR – Top 10 October Articles

At the beginning of every month, we look back at the most popular articles of the previous month.

And it is no surprise that with all the rumors we dropped in October, the Fujifilm X-T5 is dominating the ranking.

Here on FujiRumors the currently best selling cameras of all time are the Fujifilm X-T4 and the X100V. Will the Fujifilm X-T5 be able to dethrone them? We will soon see.

Fujifilm X-T5 – FULL SPECS and PRICE LEAKED – Same EVF of X-T4 and More Details

On an anonymous Japanese forum, Nokishita leaked the full specs of the Fujifilm X-T5.

Nokishita also says that the specs sheet might be in the process to be re-written from, so not everything might be accurate.

At the bottom of the article we list the full specs. But before that, just a few highlights.

  • X-T5 Body (Black/Silver) $1699/1699pound
  • X-T5 XF16-80mm Kit (Black/Silver) $2199 / 2149pound
  • X-T5 XF18-55mm Kit (Black/Silver) $2099/2049pound

We also see that it will be smaller and lighter than the X-T4. And without battery, it will also be lighter than the X-T3.

  • X-T3 weight:
    – 489 g w/o battery + SD Cards
    – 539 g with battery + SD Cards
  • X-T4 weight:
    – 526 g w/o battery + SD Cards
    – 607 g with battery + SD Cards
  • X-T5 weight:
    – 476 g w/o battery + SD Cards
    – 557 g with battery + SD Cards
  • X-T3 size: 132.5 x 92.8 x 58.8 mm
  • X-T4 size: 134.6 x 92.8 x 63.8 mm
  • X-T5 size: 129.5 x 91 x 63.8mm

In terms of the EVF, the Fujifilm X-T5 will use the same EVF of the Fujifilm X-T4.

RUMOR: Fujifilm X-T5 will Have Clickable Front and Rear Dial (Unlike X-H2/S)

It’s not a dealbreaker, but a dubious choice Fujifilm made: on the Fujifilm X-H2S and the Fujifilm X-H2, the front and rear command dial are not clickable.

From what I have read, this was done to prevent accidental change of ISO value, and some even say it helps for even better weather sealing.

Quite frankly, none of these explanations convinces me.

And this is why, when I asked what you’d like to know about the Fujifilm X-T5, the question if the X-T5 will have clickable dials or not came up quite a bit.

Well, today I can give you the answer: the Fujifilm X-T5 front and rear command dial will be still clickable.

Personally I am very happy about that.

Fujifilm X-T5 will Shoot 6K/30p Video

When I told you that the Fujifilm X-T5 will be smaller than the Fujifilm X-T4, some of you understood that this might be the reason why it won’t shoot 8K video (smaller bodies struggle more with heat management than bigger bodies).

But others were worried that the Fujifilm X-T5 won’t even offer 6K video.

So I am glad to report that, despite getting smaller, the Fujifilm X-T5 will still be able to shoot 6K video, more precisely 6K/30p.

So yes, it is not 8K, but 6K should be a pretty decent format for most video uses anyway.

The X-T5 is still a very nice hybrid camera.

RUMOR: Fujifilm X-T5 Shipping Mid November (Announcement November 2)

Fujifilm seems to be in a hurry with the Fujifilm X-T5.

We told you Fujifilm will announce the Fujifilm X-T5 (and XF30mmF2.8 Macro) on November 2 and in fact it is now official as the Fujifilm X summit has been annouced. That’s per se surprising, as they never launched camera gear in November.

But it gets even better.

Fujifilm will start shipping the Fujifilm X-T5 already in mid November, which means just about 2 weeks after its announcement. I can’t remember Fujifilm ever start to ship gear as fast.

Fujifilm X-T5 will have IBIS and Pixel Shift for 160MP Images

I have read speculation about Fujifilm not offering pixel shift on the Fujifilm X-T5 in order to differentiate it even further from the Fujifilm X-H2 and keep pushing sales of their higher end X-H line.

So I investigated and our sources would like to reassure us future X-T5 owners that these speculations are not accurate.

The Fujifilm X-T5 will offer pixel shift, hence it will have the capability to take 160 megapixel images. And of course this means also that the X-T5 has sensor shift stabilization (IBIS), which is needed for pixel shift.
