Fujifilm X-T2 coming pretty soon after the Fujfilm X-PRO2 (source right in the past)

 photo comparison_zpsqgtcwkhv.jpg

A source, who was right in the past, told us that the X-T2 will be announced from 2 to 4 months after the X-PRO2. Remember, the X-PRO2 announcement could be in late 2015 (according to this rumor).

It all looks like we are going to have an epic battle: X-PRO2 Vs. X-T2, Rangefinder Vs. DSLR-shape, HVF Vs. EVF…

The Fuji X-PRO2 will be weather sealed (Trusted Japanese Source)

 photo PRO2 weather sealed_zpsjmyayfo4.jpg

I got an email from our beloved trusted Japanese source. It simply said:

Patrick, you better add weather sealing to your X-PRO2 specs list!”

And so I did ;)

I have NO rumors about it, but I can’t stop thinking that the 35mmF2 WR (scheduled to come in November according to this roadmap) would be the perfect kit lens for a weather sealed X-PRO2.

And the weather sealing? Is it a gimmick or must have? There is a debate about it over at the FXF! Take a look here and feel free to share your opinion, too.

2) XF35mm – NOVEMBER
3) x1.4 Teleconvertern – NOVEMBER / DECEMBER
4) XF 100-400 – MARCH

That 35mmF2 looks like a perfect kit lens for the X-PRO2. And don’t miss it to read the amazing Fuji X Camera dream list here… some suggestions amongst it, that I really would LOVE to see come true one day… and why not, join us over there with your dreams ;)

Thanks FR-reader Stalkdog for sharing here the roadmap.

X-PRO2 with bigger sensor ( ≈ 1.3x crop), compatible with existing lenses (New Source – Grain Of Salt)

 photo X-Trans III 1.3 Crop_zpsgp8tf1s2.jpg

The rumor comes from a new source, so take the mandatory grain of salt… especially since I haven’t heard about it from any of my trusted sources until now.

The source confirms what dc.home forum member joofei said here: there will be an X-PRO2 with a bigger sensor. It will have more or less a 1.3x crop factor and all the existing Fujinon lenses will be compatible with it.

Reminder: joofei said there will be two X-PRO2 versions: one with 24MP APS-C sensor and one with 25-27MP APS-X sensor.

After the previous APS-X rumor, FR-reader Axel did a little measuring and put different sensor sizes into the X-mount.

„There is room for more sensor w/o pushing the corners too far out. They can probably go up by 2 mm w/o trouble and with a change in aspect ratio they can go up by 3mm in each dimension – with a square format 22-24mm can be achieved. 21 mm fits right now but 24mm would probably be near the limit and show up in the corners with some lenses. The cool thing is that with a small up-scaling they have a bigger sensor AND 100% 4K video in a near APS-c size sensor by cropping. It has to be faster to dump the unused pixels instead of dealing with scaling.“

Source Confirms: Fujifilm X-PRO2 with 1/8000 shutter… and Sync Speed faster than 1/180th!

 photo snyc_zpsei2zfiox.jpg

I’ve just received a confirmation from a source, who was right in the past, that the mechanical shutter of the X-PRO2 will go up to 1/8000 s. Moreover, the X-PRO2 will have a faster sync speed than the current 1/180 of the X-T1 & CO.

The source also says we won’t see it coming before September. So once more the release in late 2015 seems to be confirmed. I keep up hoping for an X-PRO2 under my X-mas tree.

Since this source contacts me anonymously via rumor box using a nick-name, I can not contact it to ask for more details about the sync speed or the X-PRO2 in general.

Wild Rumors Episode 3: Fujifilm X-PRO2 with APS-X sensor (25-27 MP) and compatible with current XF lenses (src – dc.home)

 photo aps-x_zpsd1akyi94.jpg

You might remember dc.home forum member joofei, who shared a bunch of wild rumors about Fuji’s upcoming gear at the Chinese forum (see wild rumors 1 and wild rumors 2).

Well, he just shared some new information here at dc.home. Some sound very weird… but I’ll just report them here and leave any considerations to you.

Joofei says that there could be 2 versions of the X-PRO2.

VERSION 1: This version matches exactly with the rumors shared here on FR over the last months: APS-C sensor, 24MP, Dual Card slot… so nothing new.

VERSION 2: The second X-PRO2 version will have, according to joofei, the following specs:

– 25.6 x 17.3 APS-X sensor
– 25-27 MP
– OLD LENS WITH 1.x FACTOR [admin: if I understand the google translated version correctly, all current XF lenses will be compatible with this new sensor] – BIG OVF + EVF

I have no rumors about an X-PRO2 with a completely new 25.6 x 17.3 APS-X sensor format (that’s between APS-H with 27.9×18.6 and APS-C with 23.6×15.6). For now I give to this rumor a very low rating. I’ll just note that, if you look closely at the April’s Fool Joke made up by an official Fujifilm X-photographer here, you’ll see that some of his “fake” features match with those of joofei. Here are the X-photographer specs:

– Sensor 10% bigger than the previous one, so that you can use the “old” lenses, with a crop factor of 1.2x [admin: FR-reader David calculated a drop factor of 1.4] – 27 MP
– Hybrid viewfinder (as X100T, but with X-T1 dimensions)

As the X-photographer himself said in the comments about his joke: “Who knows how many of these features will be in the next Fuji?”

Now, either both are just having fun and posted similar fake specs, or there is something worth to investigate behind these very wild rumors.

Fujifilm X-PRO2 will have 1/8000 mechanical shutter speed (trusted source)

 photo 18000_zpsif1ajomk.jpg

Hi all

I hope you had a great Easter break.

Let’s start this week with a very fresh rumor brought to you by our top trusted Japanese source, who dropped me an email a few hours ago, with a rumor that I guess will make some X-shooters out there pretty happy.

The source says, that the Fujifilm X-PRO2 will have a mechanical shutter (MS) speed that goes up to 1/8000 of a second.

That’s it…. now feel free to spread the word… and if possible quote FR as the original source ;) .

And here is the updated X-PRO2 specs list.

(TS= trusted source / NeS =New Source / AS = Anonymous Source / SRP = source who was right in the past / OS = other sites)

– APS-C sensor (TS + AS + AS)
– 24MP sensor (AS) – More than 16MP (AS)
– 1/8000 of a second mechanical shutter speed (TS)
– dual SD card slot (NeS)
– coming late 2015 (TS + AS)
– coming September / October (OS + OS)
– tilt screen (AS)
– WiFi (AS)
– Non organic ASP-C X-Trans sensor (OS)
– Price about 20% to 30% more expensive than the X-T1 (AS)
– 4K video (TS + NeS)
– Faster Processor EXR III (TS)
– smaller than X-PRO1 (OS)
– Sync Speed faster than 1/180th

No April Fool’s Trick :: Fujifilm X-PRO2 will come in September / October (sources: Tom Grill & SLRClub)!

 photo ddda_zps0312o52k.png

Earlier today I posted an April’s fool Trick about a leaked image of a prototype X-PRO2. The guys behind this funny joke told me yesterday that they’d appreciate the support of FujiHumors… and I didn’t want to be the spoilsport ;).

But now let’s go back to FujiRumors… and this time it’s about the X-PRO2 release. We now have 2 more confirmations that the X-PRO2 will probably come in late 2015 (September or October).

SEPTEMBER: According to Tom Grill (aboutphotography-tomgrill) the X-PRO2 could be released in September. In an article written on March 23, he says:

The impetus for this post came because I heard last week that the X-Pro1 would be replaced by a newer X-Pro2, probably in September of this year.”

A part from the rumor, it’s overall a good read. Check it out at aboutphotography-tomgrill (found via macfilos).

OCTOBER: DicaHub spotted (on March 31) a slightly different release date. It was shared by SLRClub user Daniel SON. Here is the translated text:

I’m not a user of Fujifilm digital camera. I have a job related photography and am working in U.S.A. For this time when I visited WPPI at Las Vegas, I heard this from Fujifilm booth. Because I was considering to use Fujifilm cameras for shooting, I had tested X-Pro1 and X-T1 at Fujifilm booth and talked with Fujjifilm rep. He said X-T1, recently launched, might be better than X-Pro1 in overall performance and new model in X-Pro1 line is ready to be launced about Oct. of this year. Because he is staff of Fujifilm, might his words be sure? I bring this information because I think there might be someone to get information.”

There is light at the end of the tunnel… and I can see the contours of the Fujifilm X-PRO2… under my X-mas tree … let’s hope …  ;)
