Can You Trust FujiRumors?

Another year is over.

And it was another year filled with rumors.

But the true question now is: was FujiRumors even worth your time? Were our rumors accurate? Or did I fell to the temptation to share fake (and even AI generated) rumors for the sake of traffic?

Well, there is only one way to find it out: check every single rumor we have shared in 2025 and see if it turned out to be right or wrong.

All I can say is a HUGE THANKS to everybody, who helped me out with the rumors. Without your guidance I’d be lost in a jungle of fake rumors… and the world of Fujifilm would be just way less fun and entertaining. :).

Corporate Propaganda?

And I can hear already some say: yes, you can trust in terms of rumors, but FujiRumors is biased and won’t cover the bad news around Fujifilm, since this blog just spreads corporate propaganda.

Well, to this critique I’ll only say that the most negative video about Fujifilm in 2025 was shared by Edvard. Well, as soon as that video went online, I worked for hours to make a lengthy and super accurate summary of this video in which I report about every single negative thing he says about Fujifilm, and published it instantly in full length and glory. So quite the opposite is true: even the most critical Fujifilm content gets maximum visibility on FujiRumors.

Sure, I love my Fujifilm gear. I guess that is easy to guess from many of my articles. But this does not prevent me from being objective or to express my negative opinions, as I recently did here.

Keep this in mind: this blog is run by a guy with zero connections to Fujifilm. Fujifilm does not pay me, does not send me free gear, does not invite me to events, does not request specific articles, does not give me early access to new products, does not offer me discounts, and does not lend me equipment.

The only support I get for what I do on FujiRumors comes from you, the guys reading these lines. And I owe you the best and most objective coverage on the known Fujifilm universe ;).

Fujinon XC 13–33mmF3.5–6.3 Review (ePz): “Super Little Lens, Outstanding Sharpness”

I was on one of my best hikes of the year in the Dolomites when I first shared the rumor of the Fujinon XC 13–33mm. Back then, the reaction was… lukewarm at best. Just another XC lens, many said—and not much different from the already familiar XC 15–45mm.

But things have changed.

The XC 13–33mm is shaping up to become one of the standout “best value for money” Fujinon lenses ever made, especially as more excellent reviews roll in—most recently the glowing evaluation published by ePhotozine:

  • Excellent to outstanding central sharpness
  • Very low CA
  • Modest vignetting
  • Close focusing
  • 4 stops OIS
  • Low distortion
  • Keenly priced
  • Compact and light

Cons

  • No weather resistance
  • No hood provided as standard

Verdict

If we want or need to travel light, but without compromising on quality, then the Fujifilm XC 13-33mm f/3.5-6.3 OIS lens could be just perfect for the job. It is light, compact, fast and reliable in operation, easy to handle, and stretches the wide end of the zoom range to a very useful 13mm (20mm equivalent). OK, it’s not perfect, edge sharpness does lag behind central sharpness. Even so, this is partly because the centre is pretty much universally excellent or even outstanding, so what might be considered a very high edge performance is somewhat eclipsed. Overall, images look crisp edge to edge, so in the real world where we are not constantly pixel-peeping, it is very satisfactory.

Probably the biggest negative for me is the lack of weather resistance, but then those who are routinely shooting images in sunnier climes than the UK will probably not see that as a problem.

Considering the aim of the X-T30 III with this new lens is a beginner’s kit, then it is hard to find fault with this super little lens, which as a result is Highly Recommended.

Cosina has just announced the Voigtlander COLOR-SKOPAR 18mm F2.8 Aspherical lens, which will be released in February exclusively for Fujifilm X mount. It comes with electronic contacts (but no AF). Full product page below.

Definitely in line in terms of looks and feel with the lovely Voigtländer ULTRON 27mm F2.

Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 X Series Cameras Compatibility List (Not for All X Cameras)

Samyang has announced the lovely and compact Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 X earlier today

But attention: while it is an X mount autofocus lens, it won’t work with all X series cameras.

Samyang says it is will work with X-Trans cameras, but not with Fuji’s Bayer cameras (X-T***, X-A*, X-A** lines).

But that’s not entirely correct, as not all X-Trans cameras are actually compatible. In fact, the X-Trans Fujifilm X-M1 is also not on the list of compatible cameras.

Maybe it would be more correct to say: all the cameras not made by Fujifilm (hence the ones outsourced to the Xacti Corporation), will not worked with the new Samyang.
