Fujifilm just issued an official press release announcing the new dates for the X-H1, X-T2 and X-Pro2 firmware updates, that were originally scheduled for the end of May, but then have been postponed due to issues with X-T2 firmware 4.00.
Full details of the X-T2, X-H1 and X-Pro2 updates at the bottom of this article.
Here are the new dates:
FUJIFILM X-T2 Ver.4.10: middle of June 2018 (revised firmware of ver.4.00)
FUJIFILM X-H1 Ver.1.10: middle of June 2018
FUJIFILM X-Pro2 Ver.5.00: end of June 2018 ]
*Regarding the upgraded “FUJIFILM Camera Remote” planned to release in May 2018, it will be release in the middle of June 2018 at the same time of the release of X-H1 ver.1.10.
Today Fujifilm also released firmware ver.3.10 for Fujifilm GFX 50S as well as a new features guide for GFX. Check it out here.
As you know, Fujifilm said they will release a firmware update for the Fujifilm X-T2, GFX, X-Pro2 and X-H1 in May.
Now Fujifilm China has made the firmware file ver. 4.00 available for download here.
We DO NOT RECOMMEND to upgrade your X-T2 until it is available at Fujifilm’s global site here, which currently still shows firmware ver. 3.00.
It looks like somebody at Fujifilm China has pushed the “publish” button too early.
Do NOT upgrade because:
Fujifilm could find a last second bug before the official release, and hence fix the bug before the official launch
If you download and install the Chinese X-T2 ver. 4.00 now, and if Fujifilm really finds a last second bug and delays firmware 4.00, once the official ver. 4.00 will be out, your camera could have problems to upgrade to the “official” ver. 4.00, since there could be a conflict and your X-T2 will say that firmware 4.00 is already installed.
Wait… please wait… it can’t be long anymore… must be a matter of a few days
I do share the information here on FujiRumors about the Chinese firmware leak, because it includes the full list of features the X-T2 will get with firmware ver. 4.00.
Well, this year is the worst for Fujifilm, since the “X-series era“. They won 1 award only, and it goes to the Instax Square SQ10 for the “Best Design“.
I am surprised, though, that not even one of the astonishing Fujinon lenses has made it into the list. For example, while the winner of the best mirrorless prime lens, the Samyang AF 35mm F2.8 FE, is surely a fine lens, I can’t see it being superior to the equivalent Fujinon GF 45mm F2.8.
So despite TIPA creating overall 40 categories, there is not much love for Fujifilm this year.

Introduction
The Fujifilm X-E3 is Fuji’s fourth iteration of the X-E series camera. It was the X-E1, X-E2, X-E2S and now the X-E3 (although I stand corrected if I missed one). I’d love to say my journey started with the X-E1, but back in those days, I was in Nikonland oblivious to the world of mirrorless. Some hardened Fujifilm users would say I haven’t paid my dues. My journey in the X-E series started with the X-E2s and despite it being a great camera, it’s been a little frustrating for me, in part because I also had an X-T2. I liked the image quality but I wasn’t using it much for a couple of reasons:
The AF was not great coming from DSLR’s, it’s only really with the arrival of the X-Pro/X-T2 that we saw DSLR like AF performance.
The button layout was poor compared to the X-T2 – It was probably good at the time it was released, I think I was spoilt by the X-T2 and that made the X-E2s experience seem substandard. It was simply too hard to do what I wanted coming from the X-T2.
I miss Acros whenever I use it – Acros is one of my favourite film simulations so having access on the X-T2 and no Acros on the X-E2S meant more often than not I’d be reaching for the X-T2 over the X-E2S despite it’s smaller size.
I miss the joystick from my X-T2 – For AF, the joystick is a pleasure to work with and having worked with the X-T2, I find it hard to shift back to my X-E2S or X100T.
When I started looking at a replacement for my X-E2S, I looked at the X-T20, but the joystick was missing from the camera.
For a period of time, I was stuck on the choice between the X-T20, another X-T2 and perhaps even an X-Pro2 as a second body. I’d given up on the X-E3 as the X-T20 didn’t have a joystick so why would the X-E3 have one?
Fortunately it turns out I was wrong but the choice still wasn’t a foregone conclusion: It came with the joystick, but minus the tilt screen and minus the D-Pad. The lack of tilt screen I could live with as I could use my X-T2 for that, the lack of D Pad I wasn’t so sure about. As I started looking at the videos of the X-E3, I realised it may not be that big an issue if Fujifilm was right about their implementation of the touch screen so I decided to give it a try.
The US retailer price is US$899 or about AUD$1300 in Australia (where I live). I picked mine up at CameraPro who seemed to be one of the first with stock of black X-E3’s. It’s fairly reasonable pricing given the specs and performance. The X-E3 also comes with two kit lens options, a XF23mmF2 or XF18-55mmF2.8-4 option, both of which are very good lenses and not “kit” lenses in the conventional sense of the word. I’d highly recommend considering one of these options if you don’t have either lens.
The new GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR and the optional GF1.4x TC WR teleconverter lens bring genuine telephoto capability to the evolving Fujifilm GFX medium format system. Featuring impressive detail resolution and three-dimensional subject rendering, the rather moderately priced GF250mm equals a 198 mm lens in 35 mm “full-frame” terms, and its reach can be stretched to 350 mm by attaching the new 1.4x teleconverter. Fujifilm’s GF product introductions are completed by two macro expansion tubes that work with almost all existing GF lenses and can turn the GF120mmF4 into a true 1:1 macro lens.
So is it all worth it? You should be able to decide for yourself after reading this first-look review based on pre-production samples of the GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR, GF1.4x TC WR, MCEX-18G WR and MCEX-45G WR.

Complimentary upgrades will provide new functions including a new PDAF algorithm, Flicker Reduction and Select/Create Folder, and additional compatibility of the newly introduced MKX18-55mmT2.9 and MKX50-135mmT2.9 lenses.
Nokishita just leaked the full details of the upcoming firmware for Fujifilm GFX 50S, X-T2, X-H1, X-Pro2 and X-H1 that we rumored here, as well as the first images of the Fujion GF 250mm F4 and GF 1.4x Teleconverter (all specs here).
To my knowledge, also the Fujiflm X100F should get a firmware update, but it is not included in the list of nokishita.

Introduction
There are a number of videos and manuals around which cover the Fujifilm autofocus system and settings in detail. The big problem isn’t the things they cover, it’s what they don’t cover. Guides often talk about how to configure and setup your camera, but with this guide, we’ll focus on the hidden things, how to use it to get the best outcomes.
I’m not going to try to cover the basic configurations here, for example, what AF-C or AF-S is. If you want to know how to use the basic settings, I’d recommend the Fujifilm autofocus site or this video from Fujifilm. Now please bare in mind, this is only my experience with the Fujifilm autofocus system, and more specifically my experience with the Fujifilm X-T2 and X-E3 systems. This isn’t an official Fujifilm guide, but in the absence of such a guide, I’m giving it a go.
Personally I do own the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm F2 as well as the Fujinon XF10-24, so actually I do not really “need” the Laowa 9mm F2.8. However, the lens performs well and looks so ridiculously small, that I can imagine it’s just a joy to travel with such a small and light super wide-angle lens.
Well, let’s try to make your decision if to order it or not a bit easier, so here are a 3 reviews, that might help you in your decision.
The article includes a technical sketch of the Fujinon XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR mounted on the brand new Fujifilm X-H1.
I used the technical sketch provided by Fujifilm (and camerasize.com) to photoshop a size comparison of the XF200mmF2 against the other big Fujinon glass, the XF50-140 and the XF100-400.
Keep in mind that there could be changes, since the sketch shows the current estimated size of the XF200mmF2. We are still in pre-production phase, so the final lens might see some changes.
The article linked above also says the XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR will weight more than 2kg and that in order to withstand the stress, the mount part of the Fujifilm X-H1 has reinforced ribs.
FR-reader Panther wonders if Fujifilm implies, that the mount of the X-T2 can’t handle that stress. I guess we will get more answers soon, when the XF200mmF2 will be announced (witihin 2018).
