Fuji X-Pro2 (and XF100-400) available for pre-order at AmazonUK – Release February 26

For some reason, Amazon Europe is pretty lazy these days, to add the Fujifilm X-Pro2 to their system. However, it’s now finally available for pre-order at AmazonUK. In Europe, the X-Pro2 is also available for pre-order since day one at WexUK and PCHstore.

Also the XF100-400 is now available for pre-order at AmazonUK here for £1549 (available Februar 22). Other Amazon EU store have it listed, but without price. You can find it for €1899 here at PCHstore.

The Fuji X70 is listed at Amazon Europe, but without price and not available for pre-order. However, PCHstore shows it for €699. Maybe, just like in USA, Fujifilm has revisited its price tag on the X70, and that’s why some stores still have to display it with the correct price.

The X-E2S is listed at AmazonUK for £549. Listed without price at other AmazonEU stores, it comes for €699 at PCHstore.

Fujifilm X-Pro2: USA: BHphoto – Win $1,699 by pre-ordering at BH via FR* / AmazonUS / Adorama / EUROPE: AmazonDE / AmazonUK / WexUK / PCHstore / AmazonITA / AmazonFR / AmazonESP /   AUSTRALIA: CameraPro
* pre-order the X-Pro2 (body or kit) at BHphoto using the FujiRumors shoplink and you’ll already have entered the sweepstakes. The lucky winner will get an Amex gift card pre-valued at $1,699.00. By joining this Sweepstakes, you agree with the Full Terms and Conditions. More detailed description of the Giveaway here.

According to an anonymous source with nick-name (thanks), the XF100-400 will be announced on January 15 (along with the Fujifilm X-Pro2, with its combined ISO/Shutter dial a la Pentax Spotmatic).

Always according to this source, it should cost about $/€1,800… 100 more, 100 less ;)

Up to you to the the grain of salt or not ;)

The internal Fuji roadmap that you can see below, says that the XF100-400 will be available in March.

XF100-400 mock-up shows a 4.5 to 5.6 aperture range. No further delay :) :: Fuji X-PRO2 available early 2016 (New Source)!

 photo 100-400_zpsgmbbchw6.jpg

IIRC, in all the photo shows of 2015, Fujifilm always omitted to show us any aperture markings on the XF 100-400 lens. But this changed now, on the current Digital Show in Melbourne.

A kind FR-reader, who attended the show, shared the following pics with the FR-community… and they show a mock-up of the XF100-400 with an aperture range that goes from 4.5 to 5.6. So it seems Fuji decided to contain its size & weight. And according to the poll we launched earlier, many FR-readers will welcome this decision.

The XF 100-400 has already been delayed from late 2015 to early 2016. Will there be any further delay, as an anonymous source told us here? According to the latest information I got, no further delay! The XF100-400 should hit the market latest in March, as indicated in this roadmap.

And here is another tidbit: the same FR-reader, who attended the Photo Show in Melbourne, said that the X-PRO2 will be available in…. SUMMER. Don’t worry, Summer in Australia is Winter in the northern hemisphere :) . So the X-PRO2 will be available early 2016.

XF 140-400 RECAP

  • Photokina 2014: Fujifilm showed a mock-up of an XF 140-400 F4-5.6 coming in late 2015
  • New Roadmap in February: DELAY: Fujifilm shows an XF 100-400 lens with no aperture marking, with no indication of aperture range. Coming in early 2016.
  • CP+, February 2015: a journalist of ValueTechTV says that the XF 100-400 release was delayed, because Fuji decided to change the aperture range at the wide end and make it slower and smaller.
  • The latest roadmap shared by FR-reader Stalkdog here, shows that Fuji will release the XF 100-400 in March 2016. The aperture range is marked as 4.5 at the wide and 5.6 at the long end, confirming what the journalist at ValueTech said.
  • At the photo show in Melbourne, Fujfilm displayed an XF 100-400 with an aperture range that goes from 4.5 to 5.6.

RUMOR: XF100-400 and XF120mmF2.8 delayed! (anonymous source)

 photo 100-400 and 120 delay_zpsutvagaye.jpg

An anonymous source told me that both, the XF100-400 and XF120mmF2.8 1:1 Macro, have been delayed.

The reason for the delay? The source said that Fuji was not fully satisfied with the IQ of the 100-400 and they want to improve it further. Also, Fuji was (and still is) very busy to satisfy the high demand on current WR lenses.

In the latest roadmap here, Fuji expected the XF100-400 to be available in March, and the XF120mm in May. The anonymous source did not share any new expected release date for now.

MESSAGE TO THIS SOURCE: Thanks for sharing. In case you decide to share more information in future anonymously via rumor box, feel free to give yourself a nick-name. If you do, please write your next message in a way I can recognize you are the same person, who shared this rumor.
