XF LENS DEAL

New XF lens deals just started today! Here is the list:

XF 14mm (save $100 – price $799): BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama / BestBuy /
XF 23mm (save $100 – price $799) BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama / BestBuy /
XF 35mm (save $100 – price $499) BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama / BestBuy /

Other Fujnon lenses still in offer from the last XF deals are:

XF 27mm (save $150 – price $299): AmazonUS
XF 60mm (save $100 – price $549): AmazonUS
XF 18-55mm (save $100 – price $599): AmazonUS
XF 55-200mm (save $100 – price $599): AmazonUS

XF 16mm f/1.4 + XF 16-55 f/2.8 WR

Not only Adorama is the first store to have the XF 50-140 f/2.8 WR already avaialble for pre-order at $1,599, unveiling all the specs even before the official announcement, they are now also the first store listing the Fujifilm XF 16 f/1.4 and the XF 16-55 f/2.8 WR lens (there is a typo at Adorama, as it is the 16-55 WR, and not 18-55 WR).

But, unlike the 50-140, this time Adorama didn’t leak neither the price nor the specs. Adorama says that both lenses will be available in 2015.

Check out the Fujifilm XF 16 f/1.4 here and the XF 16-55 f/2.8 WR lens here.

Oh, and dear Fuji, you can decide, DOA or OIS. The poll is pretty clear! We want an 16-55 with OIS (as shown also at Adorama).

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Fuji Rep confirms: 18-135 coming next week (June 16th),16mm + 120-400 sounds right too, new firmware updates on the way

 photo 18-135FOLLOW_zpsb67ccc08.jpg

Chris had a nice talk with a Fuji rep. He asked him about some of the rumors I’ve spread in the last weeks/months, and here are his answers:

– XF 18-135: The rep said it will come „next week“ (Fujirumros says June 16th)
– X30 coming in not so distant future (Fujirumors says this summer)
– XF 16mm would be a „good idea“ (Fujirumors says a 16mm 1.4 will come)
– XF 120-400 “sounds about right” (Fujirumors said it back in February here)
– XF 35mm f1.4 mkII will come after the lens selection has been completed, so probably 2016 (Fujirumors has no idea when it will be announced.)
– X100S, X-E2, X-Pro1 and X-T1 will get a firmware update soon (Fujirumors is working on this one ;-)).

Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4: that’s Fuji’s new high speed wide angle lens on the roadmap (trusted source)

 photo ROADMAPDEF_zps1a63dfa0.jpg

Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4
trusted Japanese source

The rumor comes from the top trusted Japanese source, so do NOT take it with a grain of salt, spread the good news on facebook, google+, twitter and wherever you want (but don’t forget to quote the (original) source ;-))

Fuji’s mysterious high speed wide angle lens will be the Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4!

XF 120-400mm
new source

As I told you on February 3rd, according to a new source (see here), the super telephoto zoom lens will be the XF 120-400. If correct, we’ve just unveiled all the lenses that are currently shown on the Fuji Roadmap. So I’ve updated the roadmap for you :-)

XF 18-135mm f/3.5 to f/4.8
reminder

XF 18-135mm Reminder: We know it since the CP+ in Japan, but Fujifilm hasn’t still updated the roadmap: the 18-135 is getting faster (from f/3.5-f/5.6 to f/3.5-f/4.8). This lens will be the first weather sealed lens in the Fuji XF lineup. First rumors suggested that it would be released in April / May. But then Fuji changed its plans and delayed the release to probably June. This explains why Fujifilm has delayed the release… they are making it faster!

Stay Tuned because…

… because Fuji can insert new lenses to the roadmap in any moment. So I won’t stop it here and continue to investigate further for you.

Any hint and help would be highly appreciated. You can drop me an email (with a fake email account if you want), or use the rumor box. It will keep you anonymous (in this case you could use a nick-name so that I can recognize you in future).

Thanks in advance to anyone who decides to make my work here on Fujirumors a bit easier :-)

cheers

FR-reader Jan wrote me an email with the following information (thanks a lot Jan!):

For all the other lenses, European reader should seriously consider to grab them through the amazing US lens deals running now (and until March 22). You will save a lot even if you pay taxes and shipping on it. For more information check out the comments of European FR-readers in this FR-post here.

Here is how it goes according to the German FR-reader Oleg, who bought the 27mm: “The price is 199$, the delivery is 44$. Once you choose Germany as country of delivery, on check-out on B&H to deal with duties, you you pick one of two. 1. You can check “pay duties now” and that would be 100$ and you need not go to customs office (Zollamt), since you have basically paid all in full (btw, ebay sellers offer such option as well). So, it will make 343$, or 250 Euro. You pay 343 to B&H. And hopefully nothing else. 2. You can check “pay on delivery” and all you pay is 243$, or 178 Euro to B&H. Since I am not sure about the first option (more precisely, that I will not have to pay even more custom duties) and custom office is close to Cologne, I chose the second option “pay on delivery.”

Samyang 16mm available in June? + Rokinon 300mm f/6.3 Mirror lens

 photo 984153_546227348756521_754498152_n_zpsee181c0a.jpg

As you know, Samyang just announced the Samyang 16mm f/2.0 X-mount (click here). According to a FR-reader from Malaysia, it will arrive in stores there at the end of June.

And more good news. At the facebook page of Rokinon here you can see the first images of the new 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens (for E-mount) and a video here. The X-mount version will follow.

Seems that Samyang is about to release a whole new range for the Fuji X-mount… and now we wait for Sigma to do the same ;)

To what belongs Sigma, I’ve read here that Sigma Corporation America said “Unfortunately Fuji did not use the Micro Four Thirds mount and doesn’t have the market share Sony does, I’m not going to say we will not make lenses for your mount but not at this time.” So, buy a Fuji X to convince Sigma :)

cheers
Patrick

Samyang 16mm f/2.0 X-mount to be announced soon!

An Asian Samyang retailer unveiled on Facebook the first picture and specs of the new Samyang 16mm f/2.0 lens. It will come for Fuji X  mount too. They write: “The 16mm focus length with rectilinear imaging system ensure extra wide angle of view amounting to 83.1 degrees (for Nikon version and 79.5 for Canon). The big aperture opening of F2.0 ensure photographers able to use it for low light environment like night street shooting. The weight of the lens is just about 571g, as a result this lens will be a attractive carry on for architecture and landscape shooting.

P.S.: Save this search on Slidoo to get notified when the Samyang lens will be available one Bay.

Save Big on Sigma 100-400mm F 5-6.3 DG DN for Fujifilm X

The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 is now 16% off only at Amazon US here (shipped and sold by Amazon).

The very same lens is listed at full price at BHphoto here and Adorama here.

Sigma Japan Suspends Orders for Entire DC DN Lens Lineup

Sigma Japan just announced the suspension of orders for the following DC DN APS-C lenses:

So the entire APS-C lineup orders are on hold in Japan. I don’t know if this is valid for the rest of the world too, but for now they seem to be still available for order at stores like BHphoto.

The motivation they give is strange: the demand exceeds Sigma’s expectations.

So I wonder what happened. If all of a sudden demand for Sigma APS-C lenses rose strongly, or if maybe Sigma’s production capacity dropped for reasons we do not know.
