Fujifilm X-T5 Rumor Recap: 3 Way Tilt Screen, November Announcement, No Battery Grip Option and More

We have just share the rumor about the Fujifilm X-T5 having a 3 way tilt screen.

But I realized that I never made any Fujifilm X-T5 rumor-recap list in the various X-T5 rumors, so I thought I make one now that I will re-share and keep updated in future Fujifilm X-T5 rumors

Fujifilm Managers Interviews: About Competition and Alliances, Dreams of Modular and Fixed Lens GFX and More

There have been two interviews with Fujifilm managers, one in French (the more comprehensive one) and one in Japanese (short).

I will sum up both of them, but the Japanese one only because it involves Koji Matsumoto, the president of Fujifilm Imaging. It does not say much at all, but if we hear from his mouth that X-H2 and X-H2S are selling better than Fujifilm thought, than it has its value.

The French manager was definitely much more talkative and if you don’t speak French, our summary below will cover it all.

Fujifilm GFX100S vs Hasselblad X2D Dynamic Range Test

The web is full of professional reviewers suddenly discovering how amazing the Hasselblad X2D is, how gorgeous its dynamic range, the flexibility of those files. It’s all so amazing. Forget full frame, medium format is the future!

Sadly many of those reviewers have since now totally ignored that the Fujifilm GFX100S exists. And by the way, they also ignore the Fujifilm X-H2 and X-H2S. Fujifilm simply does not exist.

Luckily for us, Bill at Photon to Photos did not forget that Fujifilm makes digital cameras and has them all in his database.

And he also added the Hasselblad X2D now.

How you can see, the Fujifilm GFX100S matches the Hasselblad dynamic range at base ISO, but starting from ISO 400 and beyond there is not competition and the GFX100S beats the X2D in terms of dynamic range.

So Fujifilm is able to take out more of the sensor than Hasselblad.

You can access the data here at Photon to Photos.

UPDATE: Jim Kasson, a very respectable and competent fellow GFX shooter, has a different view on the chart. He writes:

Bill’s PDR tests don’t take sensitivity into account. My tests show that, at base ISO (64 for X2D, 100 for GFX 100S), the two cameras are within 0.2 stops of having the same sensitivity. Once you correct for that, Bill’s curves for the two cameras are nearly on top of each other. So the Fuji Rumors claim is at best misleading, and at worst just plain wrong. C’mon folks, these cameras have the same sensors, albeit operated slightly differently. How far apart can the DR be?

Fujifilm X-T5 Announcement in November: What do You Want to Know?

The Fujifilm X-T5 will be announced in November.

And some of the big questions we had, FujiRumors has already answered them:

But while some of the big questions are answered, there are still other questions (big and small) that remain open.

So this article is here to ask you what you’d like to know about the Fujifilm X-T5. Is there any question that you’d like me to investigate?

If so, just drop in the comments down below, and I will see if I can answer it before the official announcement of the Fujifilm X-T5.

Oh… also… the other way around….

I mean, if you don’t have any question, but you have answers about the Fujifilm X-T5, feel free to contact me at fujirumor@gmail.com, via rumor box (use a nickname if you want) or via personal message on my Facebook, my Twitter or my Instagram.

So guys, before going to bed my son wants me to play a bit of soccer with him (he has still a long way to go to beat me as you can see in the video below).

After that, I’ll come back to check your questions and instantly start to work on them.

My evening/night will be dedicate to find the answers to your questions.

LEAKED Internal Fujifilm Document Shows Name of New new Camera Remote “X-App”

I have received an internal and confidential document about the Fujifilm X-H2 and X-H2S.

It shows a list of specs that are known to us, but towards the bottom you can read “new remote X-App”.

This confirms our previous rumor about the fact that new camera remote App would be called X-App (at least that’s Fuji’s plan at this point in time).

I explained already why the fact that it will get an all-new name is also an indication that it is a totally re-written App.

When will it come?

I don’t know. Certainly the fact that it is circulating in internal documents means that Fujifilm is at an advanced stage regarding its development.

My hope is that they will at least announce it during the Fujifilm X-T5 launch very soon. But that’s not a rumor at all, just a mere speculation. And my speculations are just as valid as any of yours. Only when sources tell me something we will have something more solid.

The Fujifilm X-T5 Dominates…

The Fujifilm X-T5 dominates our dreams and desires.

And how do I know that?

Well, because on the month where Fujifilm dropped a true stunner, the Fujifilm X-H2, the rumors and speculations of the Fujifilm X-T5 crushed anything X-H2 related in terms of views here on FujiRumors.

And guys, if the Fujifilm X-T5 is what you want, then you’ll get it… very very soon they say ;).

But while the Fujifilm X-T5 dominates your interest, there are some articles shared in September that you should not have missed. And if you did, here they are.

Fujifilm Manager Teases Another Launch Event “Very Very Soon” and adds “Oh, I Should Not Have Said That” – Fujifilm X-T5?

The House of Photography in Sydney was packed with guests for the Fujifilm X-H2, XF56mmF1.2 R WR and GF20-35mmF4 launch event, when the whole presentation came to an end, and the Australian Fujifilm manager closes the event by saying:

Thank you everyone here, thanks to everyone out there in the web world for tuning in and watching us. I am sure we will be doing this again very very soon… oh, I shouldn’t have said that, shouldn’t I? Alright. Good night everyone. Thank you again!

So he just teased that another launch event is just around the corner.

What could it be?

Some might say he is referring to the only remaining gear Fujifilm already said would come in 2022 and we are still waiting to be announced: the Fujinon XF30mmF2.8 Macro.

But frankly I doubt that for this lens alone Fujifilm would set up a bigger launch event with guests at the House of Photography. And also, why say “I should not have said this“, when Fujifilm already announced it for 2022, so it’s all but a secret that it is coming.

He is probably referring to something we don’t know about yet… unless you follow FujiRumors of course. In that case you know what it is (hint: Fujifilm X-T5) ;).
