I’m The Fuji-tive, so I can’t share too many details on my personal FXF profile ;). But for all the others, it could be worth to take a few minutes and fill it in properly.

And here is why:

Starting from the next “Best of FXF zone” (see episode 1, 2 and 3), I’ll link DIRECTLY to the FXF Profile of those Forum Members, who have launched a hot thread or shared a top voted image.

And today, one month after the Fuji X Forum launch, allow me to express my thanks to:

1) Thanks to all those, who already joined the FXF. It’s great to see how quickly a friendly community is coming together. I’m having lots of fun there and learn (and share) many things… feel free to join us, too.

2) Sure, when the Admin of the 5 years old German Fuji-X-Forum and my humble self decided to cooperate and launch the English FXF sister Forum, I knew that I was in professional hands: he had the knowledge, the experience, the workflow, was familiar with the forum software and more… but the reality even exceeded my expectation. He’s working hard and meticulously, always ready for a Skype call, quick replies to emails and has great ideas for the future of the Forum! Just Amazing! Thanks, FX Admin!

That’s it… I’ll now prepare the next “Best of FXF zone“, which should go online soon.

XF 100-400 Aperture Range now from 4.5 to 5.6? – POLL: Better Slower & Smaller (and cheaper) or Bigger & Faster?

XF 100-400 Recap:

– July 2014: Fujifilm releases a new roadmap, showing a super tele-photo zoom lens coming in late 2015.
– Photokina, September 2014: Fujifilm shows XF 140-400 mock-up with an aperture range that goes from F4 to F5.6.
– February 2015: Fujifilm updates the roadmap and now shows an XF 100-400 coming in early 2016… no aperture range indication on the roadmap
– CP+, February 2015: a journalist of ValueTechTV says that the XF 100-400 release was delayed, because Fuji decided to change the aperture range at the wide end and make it slower and smaller.
– The latest roadmap shared by FR-reader Stalkdog here, shows that Fuji will release the XF 100-400 in March 2016.

Now, FR-reader aki noted, that the roadmap shows an XF 100-400 that is 4.5 at the wide and 5.6 at the long end, confirming what the journalist at ValueTech said.

Well, since we now have the unequivocal evidence that FujiFilm reads FujiRumors, we can let them know what we think about the XF 100-400 aperture. Is it better not to care about the size (since it will be big anyway) and make a F4 constant zoom out of it? Or should Fuji try to contain its size (and price) by making it slower (F4.5-5.6)? Or maybe just keep the aperture range they displayed at Photokina (F4 to F5.6 – at that time the lens was planed as 140-400)?

My XF90mmF2 R LM WR pre-production sample is probably the most amazing lens I’ve every used. This is weird, because in their notes accompanying the lens, Fujifilm emphasized that hardware, firmware and image quality weren’t quite final. I had again a talk with the new source, who told me about the EU X-T10 Kit Price of 849… and now I have an update for you… or better, a correction to make: the price for the kit is of 849 in Switzerland (so CHF 849 and not €). The same source said that the price in some other EU countries is actually of €699 for the X-T10 body and €799 for the X-T10 kit.

However, this does not mean that the X-T10 will cost €699 in all EU countries with € currency. There will be changes. For example, the XF 16mmF1.4 costs 999 at AmazonDE. That’s €50 cheaper than the same lens at AmazonITA, where it is sold for €1,049.

I’m sorry… you might remember that when the X-T10 EU price post went online, it had some errors in it. I wrote the price for the body, but the new source actually said it was for the kit, I made the wrong dollar/euro conversion and had to correct everything later on. This can happen when you are under stress and have just 3 minutes time to write a post.

To make it now unequivocably clear, here is the rumored price list so far:
