The X70 is a perfect example about how Fujifilm can plan a new product (and FR sources tell you about), then drop plans (and FR sources tell you about), and then, a few years later, change opinion again and work on the same product again and this time really lauch it (and FR sources tell you about). Makes 2 wrong rumors anyway ;)

I’ve shared the first rumor about the X70 back in September 2013, saying it would be smaller EVF-less X100S.

Well, we are almost in 2016, and the camera might finally come. As spotted by digicame-info, it has been registered at the Chinese radio wave authentication institution. You can download the EXCEL file here.

Fujifilm X70: Coming with 16MP X-TransII sensor for less than $1000 and with a New Lens!

I’ve 2 updates regarding the Fuji X70

1) A source, who was right in the past, says that the X70 it will feature the X-TransII 16MP sensor. It will cost less than $1000 and be very compact.

2) A trusted source (who contacts me via rumor box using a nick-name) says it will feature a 28mm lens (which I suppose to be equivalent, this would mean about 18 or 19mm lens on APS-C).

As already rumored earlier, it will be EVF-less

Fuji X70 already in the hands of selected photographers for testing – New Source

According to a new source, Fujifilm already shipped some X70’s to selected photographers for testing.

The X70 rumor is one of the oldest here on Fujirumors. A few years ago Fuji already was close to make it, but they stopped its development and put plans on ice.

If this rumor is correct, than Fujifilm not only decided to make it, but it’s development is actually at an advanced stage and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it become real within the first half of 2016 (but I have no rumors about it’s release date for now).

According to the rumors, the X70 is an EVF-less & smaller version of the X100 line.

And yes… don’t forget the grain of salt

RUMOR COMEBACK: Fujifilm will launch the X70, little sister of the X100 series… with a NEW LENS! (TRUSTED SOURCE)

Do you remember the rumor of September 2013, where I wrote: “Fuji will launch a cheaper and smaller X100S without viewfinder, smaller body and 23mm f/2.8 lens. The name could be X70.” ?

Well, I knew the rumor was right at the time of sharing, but Fujifilm has dropped plans on it later on.. and so I had to live with the usual S*itstorm on FR ;).

But we could have a comback now, at least according to our trusted Japanese source. The source said that this time Fujifilm decided to go ahead an make it. Our source did not specify the specs, but it did say that there will be a New Lens.

Looks like the X100 series is going to get a little sister… and the Ricoh GR a serious competitor!

If the Japanese source is (once again) correct, then it shows how rumors can be right at the time of sharing, then wrong, and then eventually right again, according to the continuously changing plans at the Fuji HQ. This drives me nuts… but that’s my problem ;-) .

That’s it… feel free to tell us your dream lens for this little camera… and there is a first poll about the X70, too.

New rumors about the second X-camera: X-E2 and … X70?

At the moment the X100S is in stock at Pictureline and [shoplink 16889 ebay]ebayUS[/shoplink]. Also AmazonUS has it via third party, but you have to pay more. It’s out of stock at BHphoto and Adorama

As you know, the trusted Japanese source confirmed the launch of the X-E2 in October (the precise date should be October 18). But what about the second camera that should be announced too (according to a new source)?

Well, it’s still a mystery… but I’ve received the first rumors from an anonymous source about it. It’s still unconfirmed, but I thought you should know what I know. Here we go:

The anonymous source told me that the second camera would be a cheaper and smaller X100S without viewfinder, smaller body and 23mm f/2.8 lens. The name could be X70.

But, you know it, it’s still unconfirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.

That’s it for now! But I’m sure that October will be a hot rumor month. I’ll use every short break I have at work to keep you posted on the latest rumors (as I’m doing now ;))

When I shared the price in Euro for the Fujifilm X-T50, many thought that this must be an error and that I am very likely referring to the kit price.

But no, we don’t do errors here on FujiRumors ;).

So I confirm: unless Fujifilm decides to change the price last second, these are the prices.

Fujifilm X-T50 body only: €1,499
Fujifilm X-T50 with XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8: €1,899

This is rocksolid stuff.

And yet, I have seen Fujifilm changing prices on the fly just days before announcement. And actually you might remember how they even did that shortly after announcement of new gear.

In fact, just a few days after the Fujifilm X70 was launched, and while it was still in full pre-order phase, Fujifilm changed its price from $799 to $699.

So if Fujifilm can change the price just a few days after announcement, then it is also possible to change it a few days before announcement.

But right now, this is the price in Euro. It’s very unlikely to change at this point, but not impossible.

Fujiilfm has a dedicated page, in which they show which products are no longer being repaired.

This year (2024) Fujifilm has ended repairs for the Fujifilm X100F and Fujifilm X-T20. Both cameras had been announced back in January 2017.

Fujifilm X100VI to Cost €1,799 (and $1,599?)

I have been asked about the Fujifilm X100VI price in Euro.

Well, according to our trusted sources, it will be €1,799.

And one more thing regarding the price in US Dollar.

I told you recently that according to a new source it would be of $1,599 (hence $200 more than X100V). I also asked you to take it with a grain of salt for now until I can confirm it by trusted source.

Now, given that the price in Euro will be €1,799, the US price of $1,599 is definitely realistic.

As a reference:

X-T5 costs $1,699 in USA and €1,999 in Europe
X-H2 costs $1,999 in USA and €2,249 in Europe

So there is this 250/300 difference between the USD and EURO price. And if confirmed, there would be a 200 difference also between the US/EURO price of the X100VI.

But an anonymous source (who decided to use a nickname – THANKS), gave us a different price in USD. I am now checking that information (and also the rest you’ve sent me, thanks a lot), and will share an update here on FujiRumors. And if I can’t check the price in a reasonable time with my trusted sources, I will share the one given to me by the anonymous source anyway.

It’s just, usually when I need to correct a potentially wrong rumor, I want to to be sure the correction is 100% the final word on that particular rumor. That’s why I take a bit of time to try to get it confirmed by trusted sources.

It could also be that both sources are accurate, just one source got a more updated information than the other.

Fujifilm really loves to change its mind on the pricing a couple of times before they release the gear. And actually it also happened that Fujifilm made rapid changes shortly after announcement, as for example with the Fujifilm X70, which was launched for $799, and just a few days after launch, while still on pre-order, Fujifilm lowered the retail price to $699 as you can see here.

Anyway… I will try to figure out which is the most up to date information.
