LEAKED: Fujifilm X-T5 and X-S20 Kit Price with XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 and GFX100SII plus GF500mm Price Confirmed

We told you already in September 2023 from a stunning Dolomite mountain peak, that the glorious Fujinon XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 would be replace by a new kit lens, the Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8.

This means it will come not only bundled with the new Fujifilm X-T50, but also with other Fujifilm cameras such as the Fujifilm X-T5 and the Fujifilm X-S20.

And today (THANKS!!!) we can also tell you the price of the bundles as well as confirming the pricing we shared earlier.

  • X-T50 body only = €1,499
  • XF 16-50mmF2.8-4.8 = €799
  • X-T50 + XF16-50 = €1,899
  • X-T50 + XC15-45 = €1,599
  • X-T5 + XF16-50 = €2,399
    X-T5 body only = €1,999
  • X-S20 + XF16-50 = €1,799
    X-S20 body only = €1,399
  • GFX100S II = $4,999 / €5,499
  • GF500mmF5.6 = €3,899

So overall you get the lens for €400 if you buy it bundled with a camera body. The XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 alone will cost €800.

Fujifilm shared the official teaser for the upcoming Fujifilm X Summit event on May 16.

As you can see from the brightened image here, we can spot 2 cameras and 2 lenses.

Here on FujiRumors we have already shared very clear images of all products, except for the GF500mmF5.6.

All of it will drop on May 16.

Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6 Announcement on May 16 and Priced €3,899

The Fujifilm X Summit on May 16 is getting bigger and bigger.

Not only will we get the Fujifilm X-T50, the Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 and the Fujifilm GFX100S II, but according to our sources also the Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6 will be announced on May 16.

And we also have the price for you.

The Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6 will cost €3,899 in Europe. So far I have no indication about the price in US Dollar.

Shocked?

Well, that’s actually a bargain compared to what other brands charge for equivalent lenses.

Fujifilm has released a new G mount roadmap that includes the following lenses:

  • Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6
  • GF powerzoom (for movie shooting)

During the Fujifilm X Summit (full summary here), Fujifilm did show us the silhouette of the Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6.

So I decided to take that silhouette and mount it on a brand new Fujifilm GFX100II.

Also, I compared its size to the currently longest prime Fujifilm offers, the Fujinon GF250mmF4. You can see the results down below.

This is as accurate as it gets. But keep in mind that, while historically Fujifilm shares pretty reliable silhouettes of upcoming gear, the shape we see now is based on the current state of development.

The Fujifilm Fujinon GF500mm f/5.6 will hit the market only sometimes in 2024, hence minor design changes might still occur until its final release.

Fujinon GF50mmF3.5 Firmware Still Suspended

Suspended Firmware

Back on April 27, Fujifilm released firmware updates for lots X and GFX lenses (plus some cameras).

Among them there was firmware 1.10 for the Fujinon GF50mmF3.5 with some welcome improvements.

However, at some point Fujifilm removed the firmware and said:

It has been confirmed that there are some rare cases where the upgrade process fails with Ver. 1.10 released on April 27, 2023. For this reason, we have just removed the download button for this version here. We will resume the download button as soon as a fix is ready.

Customers who have successfully upgraded this firmware can continue to use the product.

Since then, nothing happened and the firmware is still suspended.

As an owner of the Fujinon GF50mmF3.5 myself, I just share this friendly reminder to Fujifilm that there is this suspended firmware and that we would really appreciate if they’d fix it… just in case Fuji forgot about it.
