Fujifilm X100VI In Stock at Adorama – But it Won’t Last Long

The Fujifilm X100VI in silver is now in stock at Adorama here.

It will sell out very quickly.

Fujifilm CEO FY2025 Q&A: “We Have Several New Products in the Pipeline – X100VI and X half are Doing Very Well”

Recently Fujifilm presented its Q1 results for the fiscal year 2025.

Now also the Q&A has been published at Fujifilm, and here is what Fujifilm CEO Teiichi Goto hat to say about the imaging division.

To give you a concrete example from the supply chain side, Imaging was the segment most affected by U.S. tariffs. We used to produce in China, but we also have manufacturing facilities in the Philippines and in Japan, plus we use some contract manufacturers in Southeast Asia. So, we reallocated production across those locations, basically shifted manufacturing away from China, and that was one of the key responses.

[…] Q1 was indeed a very strong quarter for us. The reasons include solid performance from the instax line, WIDE 400, WIDE Evo, and also Link 3, which we launched in the previous fiscal year, all performed well. In April, we launched the mini 41, which has a classic design, and that product also generated solid numbers.

As for digital cameras, the X100VI, an X100 series, and the half-frame X half model are both doing very well, with a significant backlog of orders building up. Demand continues to be strong. We still have several new products in the pipeline, and we expect the upward trend to continue.

Now, we know that Fujifilm is going to launch at least two more cameras in 2025, the Fujifilm GFX Eterna and the Fujifilm X-T30II successor. There will also be this new GF lens.

But keep in mind that the fiscal year in Japan ends March 31, so when the Fujifilm CEO talks about “several new products in the pipeline” for this fiscal year, he means everything that will be launched between now and March 31, 2026.

Could that include also the launch of the new 6th generation platform?

Well, recently, we analyzed Fujifilm’s sensor refresh cycle. If the company were to maintain the same pace as in the past, the 6th-generation platform would likely arrive around late 2025 or early 2026. Of course, this isn’t a rumor—just speculation based on Fujifilm’s historical timeline.

Whatever the CEO ment with “products in the pipeline“, he is definitely confident that those products will contribute to the “upward trend” Fujifilm is experiencing all over the world. Sure, maybe he means just new Instax cameras or maybe some other bold X half alike experiment. But from our humble point of view, we believe that a Fujifilm X-T6 or Fujifilm X-Pro4 would not hurt the positive trend either ;).

As far as the tariffs goes and their impact on the imaging division, the CEO has to say this:

Even if inflation in the U.S. leads to weaker demand or consumer hesitation, we believe there are still plenty of other markets globally where we can absorb that impact. We can shift focus to those areas, and if we do that well, we expect the strong performance to continue through the rest of the year.

This sounds like Fujifilm is willing to accept a sales decline in the U.S., while aiming to compensate for it by strengthening its market share in other regions.

Fujifilm X100VI in Stock Now (Made in Japan) at BHphoto

The Fujifilm X100VI made in Japan is now in stock at BHphoto here.

Both versions are in stock, the black version here and silver version here (sold out).

I guess they’ll sell out very fast, like last time in June when it was in stock for maybe a few hours only.

Adorama expects stock in October, Moment can’t give any estimate and at Amazon you can find it overpriced via third parties.

Confidential Guide Reveals who the Fujifilm X-E5 is For — and the X100VI Key Role in Its Appeal

I have received (thanks) the confidential “Fujifilm X-E5 first look guide” that has been distributed two weeks prior to the announcement to the press and retailers.

I will share it for all of you below.

I will highlight only one part of the document: the one where Fujifilm explains who this camera is for. If you want to see the full document, check out the screenshots below.

The primary target audience for FUJIIFLM X-E5 are experienced photographers. Many will be looking for a second Fujifilm camera body, or will recognize that X-E5 offers the perfect blend of X Series benefits: classic design, portability, straight out of camera image quality. Others may already own an X-E camera and/or have experience of film photography. For this group, the camera will be an everyday carry, used for a variety of image making and likely to be paired with a compact prime or smaller zoom lens.

FUJIFILM X-E5 will also find favor among newer photographers keen to document key life stages, such as travel or starting a family. This demographic will be less knowledgeable from a photography perspective but will value the aesthetics and size of the camera. These users will potentially be drawn to the Fujifilm brand by the popularity of X100VI – with which the X-E5 shares a similar design and style – as well as the interchangeable lens capability.

I dare to spread a theory: without the incredible success of the X100V and X100VI, the Fujifilm X-E line would have been axed. Change my mind ;).

In any case, not only the Fujifilm X-E line is back… but it’s back with its by far best model ever, the Fujifilm X-E5.

Sony RX1rIII vs Fujifilm GFX100RF vs X100VI Specs Comparison – GFX100RF Looking Like a Bargain and X100VI Like a Steal?

Sony has just launched the Sony RX1rIII fixed lens camera.

Now, for the full specs comparison (vs X100VI and GFX100RF) you can check out the dedicated BH comparison page. Frankly, I trust B&H more with reliable specs rather than asking AI to do that ;). But let me highlight some RX1rIII specs:

Sony RX1R III

  • $5,098
  • no IBIS and no OIS
  • 61 MP
  • 2.36m-Dot EVF
  • no joystick
  • has film looks called “film 1”, “film 2”, “film 3”
  • no mention of weather sealing

Well, at that price, it makes the Fujifilm GFX100RF look like a bargain, which also has no IBIS or OIS, but offers a 5.76m-Dot EVF, 100 megapixel, weather sealing, joystick and it costs $4,899.

And the Fujifilm X100VI looks like a steal, as you can get it for $1,599 and it comes with IBIS, 3.69m-Dot EVF, hybrid viewfinder, joystick, weather sealing (if used with filter)  and 40 megapixel.

The main advantages for the Sony RX1RIII are the autofocus and the f/2 lens, even though that makes the lens bigger which might be a negative for those, who look for ultimate portability.

In my view, the Sony RX1R III is a very welcome and much-needed addition to the fixed-lens camera market. Sony made a smart move by reviving this line, especially given the growing popularity of fixed-lens cameras. That said, I still believe Fujifilm offers the more refined and well-rounded option overall—though the Ricoh GR series remains a compelling and tempting alternative.

Used Fujifilm X100VI Now Selling Below Retail Price at BHphoto

A couple of second hand Fujifilm X100VI units are now sold below the retail price at BHphoto here.

I highlight “below retail price” because that’s rarely the case when it comes to X100VI. Some heroes tried to sell the X100VI for as little as 18,000 dollar :)

Anyway, a few used units are now available at BHphoto here.

Thanks Craig :)

Fujifilm X100VI Pre-Orders

Fujifilm X100VI at Regular Price at Amazon USA – Preorders (UPDATED)

The Fujifilm X100VI is now available for order at regular price at Amazon US here (shipped and sold by Amazon). There is currently no estimated shipping date.

You can’t order the X100VI anymore at BHphoto (request assistance) and also not at Adorama (notify when available).

Outside U.S. there has been a huge stock surge for X100VI due to the reasons we explained here.

UPDATE: no longer available

This Guy Added a Film Lever to his Fujifilm X100VI

Let me say it bluntly: I genuinely like the idea of the thumb winder on the Fujifilm X half.

And to make things worse (or better, depending on your view), I think the film-style multifunction lever would actually be a great addition to future Fujifilm cameras—like a potential Fujifilm X-Pro4.

I know, 67% of you will probably disagree with me. But hey, at least 33% are with me on this one—as the poll clearly shows.

For now, though, the thumb winder remains a unique feature of the Fujifilm X half. And who knows… maybe it’ll stay that way forever.

But apparently, some folks loved the idea so much, they couldn’t wait for Fujifilm to (maybe) implement it in a future camera—so they went ahead and mounted their own film-style winder on the Fujifilm X100VI, as you can see in the images above (and the video below).

Of course, this is purely a cosmetic “dumb-lever”. It doesn’t do anything—other than give you something to fidget with between shots. And for some, that alone might be reason enough to get one.

Personally, though, I think a thumb winder only makes sense on a digital camera if it also serves a functional purpose, like it is in the case of the Fujifilm X half.

Still, this “dumb-winder” shows that some folks want this feature back on digital camera—one way or another.
