X-Pro2 Rocks :)

Yes, the Fujifilm X-Pro2 might not sell nowhere near as good as the Fujifilm X-T2, but there are enough people out there, who love it, and prefer it over any other X-series cameras… and I will feature a few of them in today’s mixed zone.

Just one thing could Fujifilm do better: give it as much Kaizen love as to the X-T line. I’m still quite annoyed, that a recent firmware allowed the X-T2 to control ISO with command dial (as it’s possible on X100F), but they did not add this function on the X-Pro2. Seriously Fujifilm… you’ve got to fix this! And let’s hope that Fuji Guy’s Billy fight with Japan for 4K video on X-Pro2 will be successful, too.

The success of the Fujifilm X100F is beyond everything Fujifilm could have ever imagined, and hence, the X100F is still not easy to find in stock.

The X100F is also a wonderful example of how higher end fixed (prime) lens cameras are still something highly requested on the market.

Photographers are not scared by the fixed focal length. On the contrary, the feedback I often get from X100 shooters is that it’s actually liberating not to think about switching lenses anymore.

One camera, one lens, one focal length… go and get creative with it!

In my recent 1 week trip through South Italy, I brought the X-T1 with XF 18-135, XF 35/1.4 and Samyang 12 with me. But while climbing up and down the astonishing city of Matera (a city that can easily match in beauty all other more well-known Italian cities), I noticed a guy with nothing but a X100T on his neck… and in that moment I thought: “he’s doing it right… that’s the best way to travel“.

And of course, you can still add the WCL-X100 and TCL-X100 converters, if you want a little more of flexibility.

Ok, I’ll admit it… sometimes I wake up, in the middle of the night, after having had a crazy dream. I dream I’m selling all my X-gear and buy the X100F with TCL and WCL… and that’s it.

And you know what? The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. I guess that, at this stage, it’s only the Fujifil X-E3 that keeps from doing the switch to the X100F.

The X100F with TCL/WCL would be such a wonderful and light mini system… so should I switch? And which color? I’d get it in silver. I think that rangefinder cameras with OVF look better in silver, whereas those with EVF only (like the X-E line) look better in black.
