No Party, No Problem

We’re used to Fujifilm turning every product launch into a big X Summit party — but this time, there’s no party on the calendar.

A pity, really, because the Fujifilm X-T30 III and the new XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 could end up being very important releases for Fujifilm.

Still, while there may be no celebration stream, the presents are coming anyway: Fujifilm will announce the X-T30 III and XC13-33 October 23 at 1 AM New York time (7 AM Berlin time).

That’s also when reviews will drop and preorders will go live — so get your refresh finger ready, FujiRumors is ready for the live blog :).

Down below you’ll find the links to the X-T30 III and XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 at several stores. They might not show the new gear right now, but at 1:00 AM New York time they will lead you to their product pages.

Fujifilm X-T30 III vs X-T30 II – Here are the Main Differences

According to our sources, the upcoming Fujifilm X-T30 III will have lots in common with the Fujifilm X-T30 II: same body, so much so that at a first glance one might not see any difference at all.

However, there is one exterior and one internal difference.

On the outside, instead of the drive dial, you’ll get the film simulation dial with the FS1 to FS3 position, in which you can also store your personal film simulation recipes.

On the inside, you’ll still find the trusted X-Trans IV 26MP sensor, but this time coupled with the new X Processor 5.

Of course this means a certain performance boost for the X-T30 III, such as 6K 4:2:2 10bit recording (X-T30II shoots 4K max), the better autofocus algorithm with all sorts of subject detection modes, more film simulations (all 20 currently available) and more.

I guess those are the main differences: not many, but relevant ones.

Official Teaser: Fujifilm X-T30III and XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 Coming October 23 at 1AM New York / 7AM Berlin

Fujifilm has officially teased new gear coming October 5AM GMT (for example Fujifilm UK here). That would be:

  • October 23 at 1AM New York Time
  • October 23 at 7AM Berlin Time

They show a compact new lens and a camera with the silhouette of an X-T30II.

Wondering what it could be?

Well, thanks to our sources we know the Fujifilm X-T30 III and the XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 are coming October23. And we also told you that the new X-T30 III will have a film simulation dial, which is also confirmed in the video.

You can see the video below.

Fujifilm X-T30III and XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 Announcement October 23 – Anything Else Coming?

We told you that the Fujifilm X-T30 III and XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 will be announced on October 23.

So far Fujifilm has not published any teaser nor made any X Summit announcement, so it might well be a more quiet announcement this time.

That’s an error in my view, as the Fujifilm X-T30 III could turn out to be a very important camera for Fujifilm, since it will be its most affordable 5th gen camera with EVF, closing a huge gap in the current camera lineup.

With that said, some asked me if we can expect more to come.

My answer: so far I have no indication of anything else coming. Not in terms of announcements, development announcements or new lens roadmaps.

And the fact that there is (at least until now), no official X Summit announced, could indicate that October 23 won’t hold any major surprises besides the new gear we mention in this article.

But that’s just a speculation of mine, so don’t crucify me if on October 23 Fujifilm suddenly releases a new roadmap or announces the development of the Fujifilm X-Pro4. In fact, also the Fujifilm GFX Eterna development announcement happened all of a sudden, without any rumors, with a simple press release.

So, everything is still possible.

RUMOR: Fujifilm X-T30 III Coming with Film Simulation Dial on X-T30 II Body

According to our information, the Fujifilm X-T30III will use basically the same body of the trusted Fujifilm X-T30II.

However, there will be one difference: the X-T30II drive dial will be replaced by the film simulation dial we find on the Fujifilm X-M5 and Fujifilm X-T50.

As an Fujifilm X-E5 owner, I can say Fujifilm’s implementation of the film simulation dial on that camera is wonderfully elegant. On the X-T30III, though, such a solution won’t be necessary due to its different SLR-style layout compared to the X-E5’s rangefinder design.

EXCLUSIVE: Fujifilm X-T30 III Announcement Date Leaked

→ In Short – This is the Date of the X-T30 III “Birthday”

Fujifilm has so far vehemently denied the arrival of any X-T30 II successor.

And indeed—unlike Fujifilm’s usual practice—we’ve seen no teasers and no X Summit announcement up to now.

But despite all that, the Fujifilm X-T30 III is coming this October. In fact, we can now confirm the date.
