Time to check how accurate our rumors were in 2024 and get an outlook on the remaining rumors for 2025 (and beyond) with reliability ranking.

As usual, I will be brutal and merciless in my rumor accuracy rating.

How brutal?

Well, here are two examples.

I told you the X100VI would be basically same in size of X100V despite having IBIS. The difference is 1mm. Well, turns out it is 2mm thicker. So while it is substantially an accurate rumor, I list it as wrong.

Also, we misunderstood a source regarding the X100VI silver color. We needed only 3 hours to clarify this misunderstanding and correct it. But still, for 3 hours only, an inaccurate info was online.

WIth that said, here is how things went:

  • 99 rumors shared in 2024
  • 24 rumors still to be verified
  • 72 correct rumors out of 75 verifiable rumors
  • 3 wrong rumors (normal people would say 1 wrong rumor -not about Fujifilm-, but I am brutal to myself)
  • 96% correct rumors

Fujifilm GFX100RF Coming with New Crop Zoom Lever under Shutter Button

The Fujifilm GFX100RF is coming with more ergonomic novelties than we could have expected.

Not only it will feature a dedicated aspect ratio dial on the back of the camera, but our sources have told us that it will also have a “crop zoom lever” placed under the shutter button.

I don’t know you, but with these kind of rumors really get me excited. The more tactile controls it gets, the better it is.

Fujifilm X-Pro6 in 2026 with 6th Generation Platform? Let’s Talk About it!

We told you that there won’t be any Fujifilm X-Pro4 or Fujifilm X-Pro5 in 2025.

The fact that it takes so long made many in the comments to this post speculate that Fujifilm might just skip the 5th generation platform and use the 6th generation platform for the Fujifilm X-Pro6.

And not only some of our readers, but also guys with excellent connections to Fujifilm such as Gordon from Cameralabs in the Petapixel podcast and Ritchie from FujiXWeekly speculate that Fujifilm will skip the 5th generation and go straight for the 6th generation with the X-Pro3 successor (X-Trans VI and X Processor 6).

Now, this goes against the pretty much only thing we have heard officially from Fujifilm about the next X-Pro, which is what Fujifilm Guy Billy said.

Billy said that he can see the X-Pro getting the 5th gen specs, but the reason for the wait was that it had to be something very special.

My take?

I try to avoid speculations in this matter, because I know it matters so much to many. Which is why I will stick to rumors. And for now, I have no rumors about the Fujifilm X-Pro4, X-Pro5 ro X-Pro6 (or however it will be called), except for the fact that it won’t come in 2025 but Fujifilm is working on an improved hybrid viewfinder.

Of course the fact that it takes so long for the X-Pro3 successor to come opens up the possibility for an X-Pro on 6th generation steroids. Or maybe Fujifilm will keep the 5th gen platform as suggested by Fuji Guy Billy, but look into other ways to make it “special”, with new ergonomic solutions, some of which we could see first on the Fujifilm GFX100RF as we rumored here.

But whatever it is, I will not make any speculations right now, because people tend to mistake my random speculations for solid rumors and then turn mad on me if those speculations do not materialize. That’s OK for me most of the time, but not in regards to the Fujifilm X-Pro3 successor.

BREAKING: Fujifilm X-Pro4 (X-Pro5) is Not Coming in 2025

Fujifilm X-Pro Line Future

I don’t know exactly how to bring you this rumor, but I guess the best way is just to deliver it straight and raw:

According to multiple of our highly trusted sources (as well as a couple of new ones) there won’t be any Fujifilm X-Pro4 or Fujifilm X-Pro5 (or any X-Pro3  successor) in 2024 and not even in 2025.

I know that’s a bummer for many Fujifilm lovers out there.

But you can trust that I made sure this is an accurate rumor. I know a huge chunk of the reputation of this rumor website depends on the X-Pro4 rumors and I would only share it if I am 110% sure.

The wait for the Fujifilm X-Pro4 or may it be called Fujifilm X-Pro5 is longer than we’d like it to be.

I just hope that this also means the next X-Pro will be something super-special and worth the wait.

And in the Meantime…

While the Fujifilm X-Pro3 successor might not come in 2025, there are plenty of other cameras Fujifilm is working on for 2025 release.

And there might even more coming.

I am personally hyped about the Fujifilm X-E5.

INTRIGUING: Fujifilm GFX100RF Rumored to Feature Unique Aspect Ratio Dial

The fixed-lens Fujifilm GFX is on its way, and it looks like it will introduce a fresh innovation to the Fujifilm X/GFX series that’s bound to catch the attention of manual control enthusiasts like me.

According to new information from my sources the Fujifilm GFX100RF will feature a new dedicated aspect ratio dial on the back of the camera.

Of course it is too early to judge this new feature/dial. We haven’t seen or used it yet. However, for those who appreciate a tactile experience with as many manual controls as possible, this addition has the potential to be quite intriguing.

But for now I suspend my judgment, even though you can call me intrigued by it.

BREAKING: Fujifilm GFX100RF First Specs: No IBIS, GF35mmF4 Lens and Coming March 2025

As we told you yesterday, an anonymous source contacted us with the details about the upcoming fixed lens Fujifilm GFX camera.

First off: THANKS for the help!!! And second: it’s all very accurate according to my trusted sources, except for one thing (and at this point you know what). If you want, we can chat 100% anonymously via Signal to talk about it.

So these are the first specs of the Fujifilm GFX RF.

  • Name: Fujifilm GFX100RF
  • 100 Megapixel
  • No IBIS
  • GF35mmF4 Lens
  • Coming March 2025 (it’s unclear if this is the date for the announcement of for the shipping… or maybe even both? I will let you know if I figure that out).

No IBIS makes sense, considering that it will be very compact for a medium format camera. In fact, we told you it will be “about the size of the Fujifilm X-Pro3“.

Also 35mm was to expect, as we always told you it will be a 28mm equivalent lens (hence 35mm on GFX). We also told you it will be an f/3.2 lens, but we were not sure if it was f/3.2 on GFX or f/3.2 Full Frame equivalent. Well, we can now say it will be f/3.2 FF DOF equivalent (hence f/4 of GFX)

October 14 X Summit: Beyond New Gear, Fujifilm’s Spotlight on Design Might Steal the Show

If I should point out one single thing that really intrigued me to follow the just announced Fujifilm X Summit on October 14, then it’s the highlight Fujifilm put into the “Design” aspect of the event.

I mean, all the new gear is nice and good. But it could be the design aspect to really steal the show, just as it did in the past.

But let’s go with order.

The X summit on October 14 will take place at the Fujifilm’s design center “Clay Studio” in Tokyo.

Fujifilm said in the launch video:

The theme of the X Summit is “design”. From product design to engineering design, we will deliver new information to you from a design perspective. You won’t be disappointed with the X summit.

This theme opens up a lot of exciting possibilities.

Fujifilm could give us rare insights into how they develop and produce new gear, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their design philosophy and processes. From the initial concepts for a new product to the real-life challenges they encounter during development, all the way through to final production.

Now that alone would be very interesting to me. But I am a nerd for such things. And by the way, the best insight in terms of Fujifilm gear manufacturing we got so far is this one here.

But we could get more than that.

We might even see mockups or future concept designs that showcase Fujifilm’s vision for the evolution of their product line and maybe even get development announcements.

It happened already in the past, when Fujifilm displayed the moduar GFX design concept, or they made the Fujifilm X-Pro3 development announcement, or when they displayed the first design concepts and mockups of the Fujinon XF33mmF1.0.

They even showed us early GFX concepts including an X-T styled GFX (which btw showed us the hidden LCD screen concept half a year before the X-Pro3 development announcement) and much more.

And whenever Fujifilm has showcased potential design concepts for the future, those ideas have consistently overshadowed the actual products announced at the event.

Who knows, maybe we will even get first design hints to the Fujifilm TX-3 panoramic camera possibly coming in 2028 or the fixed lens GFX scheduled for 2025.

Emphasizing design could provide us with valuable insights into the direction Fujifilm plans to take with its future products.

But whatever Fujifilm will show us, this focus on design has the potential to be the most captivating part of the event.

I, for one, can’t wait to see what Fujifilm reveals, as I have a strong feeling it will satisfy my inner nerd and tech enthusiast… and who knows, maybe even give us a glimpse into the good stuff to come in future ;).

Fujifilm X-Pro4 (X-Pro5?) Coming with Improved Hybrid Viewfinder (and What I Hope it Will be)

Today we have an update regarding the Fujifilm X-Pro4… or however it will be called, maybe even Fujifilm X-Pro5. That name would make sense, since Fuji Guy Billy said he can see the X-Pro line getting the 5th generation goodness, hence I think there is a possibility that Fujifilm could call it X-Pro5.

We have been informed by a source, who was right in the past (THANKS), that there will be an improved hybrid viewfinder on the X-Pro4/X-Pro5.

I don’t know yet what the improvement will look like. Is it just a higher resolution EVF? A larger viewfinder?

But what I really hope is the same what Thomas B. Jones said in his latest X-Pro5 whishlist video (see below in German): the return of the slot-in magnifiers.

So what’s that?

Well, if you are not familiar with the X-Pro line, up until the Fujifilm X-Pro2, the X-Pro line offered a slot-in magnifier for 0.36x and 0.60x magnification mode in the OVF.

This has been changed on the Fujifilm X-Pro3, which offers a fixed 0.52x magnification which is great if you are shooting with Fujifilm’s  23mm, 33mm or 35mm lenses (which most X-Pro users do).

However, with lenses like the Fujinon XF18mmF1.4, the image that hits the sensor is larger than the one that can be displayed on the OVF.

The return of the slot-in magnifier could solve this problem and make the XF18mmF1.4 the perfect match for the next X-Pro camera.

But again, I do not know what the change the hybrid viewfinder will have, nor if it will be something minor or major. But if I hear anything more, I will let you know here on FujiRumors.
