Mat & Heather from Mirrorlessons just shared their complete comparison between the Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. Sony A6500. It’s as usual a very well done and detailed comparison. From the handling, the controls, the menu, the viewfinder, autofocus, and of course also high ISO, dynamic range and image quality overall. Excellent work, Mirrorlessons!
And who’s the winner? Well, it depends. Mirrorlessons says:

As probably many of you guys, I’m also curious about the ongoing Hasselblad X1D review at dpreview. They just shared their first impressions, and what’s relevant for Fuji Lovers, is that their studio scene samples now include also the Hasselblad X1D.
So yes, it’s time to pixel peep and compare the Hasselblad X1D (specs&price) with the Fujifilm GFX 50s (specs&price).
Although, I remind you that Fujifilm said that current Fujinon GF lenses are not used at their full potential, since they are designed to to resolve 100+ Megapixel. So it will be interesting to see if, once the 100 megapixel BSI Medium Format sensor comes true, the results will be still quite close or if the Fujinon glass will then start to shine and set apart the competition :)
So, check out the the Hasselblad First Impressions of dpreview here. And for the pixel peeping, go to their studio samples here.

Fujifilm GFX facebook member Bruce bought the FLM L bracket and shared the images here on the group. He writes:
“Trying to come up with a decent L bracket for the GFX, given the massive battery door I can’t see a custom one working. I bought this FLM L bracket which is likely as good as it can get. If you find something better let me know. I mount the bracket with a gap so I can access ports for the remote release. A bit of a kludge“
Other L-brackets in the works for GFX and that will come out soon are the Custom Kir L plate and the one made by Really Right Stuff.

Back at the beginning of March, here on FujiRumors we broke the news, that Fringer is developing an electronic smart adapter that will allow you to use Contax 645 lenses on Fujifilm GFX 50s and have autofocus and electronic aperture control.
Well, there is still nothing official on the Fringer website, but luckily the developer is part of our gigantic Fujifilm GFX facebook group, and shared the first working prototype image on our group here, as well as the first sample images taken with it.
Fringer says: “What you’ve seen is the first prototype and there are still a lot of problems to be solved. […] Although I’ll be working hard on the firmware, it would not be an easy task to make it relatively mature. Thus I can’t tell you when it will be ready for sale.”
As you can imagine, the comments over there are running hot, and Fringer is so kind to interact with the GFX community. Of course I can’t stay here now and copy and paste every comment, so feel free to join the discussions over there.
And of course I will keep you posted here on FujiRumors, with any news regarding this adapter.

When Fujifilm developed the Fujifilm GFX 50s, they had the following target in mind: professional photographers, who shoot fashion, commercials, portraits (in studio or outdoor), landscape and architecture.
But I remember a Fujifilm Manager, who said that, once they started the “GFX challanges series” and the camera was given to selected photographers for beta testing, the feedback was so good, that they started to believe the Fujifilm GFX 50s might also be quite good for other photographic genres, such as street photography… and apparently also photojournalism.
Long time FR-readers will remember, how I mentioned the first time Eric Bouvet, when he covered the war in the Ukraine with his X-T1 and X-Pro1. Well, he’s right now in Mosul, Iraq, and this time he documents everything with his Fujifilm GFX 50s.
First of all, I wish Eric all the best while documenting the war in Mosul and to have soon a safe flight back home.
And once back, we really look forward to his images, which will for sure enrich an already stunning portfolio that you can check out at his website here. We are first of all curious to see the stories he will bring home and share with us… and also to see how the Fujifilm GFX 50s performed in the arguably most challenging of all environments.
Eric is sharing the first images and videos from Mosul taken with his GFX on his instagram account. Make sure to check it out here. WARNING: It’s a war, and Eric is right in there. So you might see images and videos that could hurt your sensibility.
And feel free to join & enjoy the Fujifilm GFX facebook group. We are more than 10,200 right now. There is also a Fujifilm GFX facebook page, with news and rumors tailored to the GFX. You won’t miss a single GFX tidbit by following it.

Sebastian Lee shared here: The 32-64 wasn’t quite wide enough to get the composition I wanted so had to shoot a pano. Didn’t go crazy, came out to right at 12,096×7585 though my 5K iMac I think was starting to melt processing the pano haha. Eight 1 second exposures with lots of overlap. Is Sony stiching 4 separate sensor panels into 1 big MF 44×33 MF sensor? That’s what meshmag suggest. The image you see above is what you get with an 8 minutes exposure and body cap on.
No big deal… it works just great :-)
Btw, stiched or not, the “problem” (if we can speak of “problem” when we get such a terrific IQ) with this huge MF sensor is that it uses the same technology used in the 3 years old Pentax 645. The readout is not fast enough to allow 4K, ultra short black-out times etc.
Sensor readout speed is the main area of improvement needed in the GFX. So please Sony, for the second generation stich together 4 sensors with high read-out speed, and the GFX will be perfect :)

I promise this will be the last time FujiRumors will talk about the DPReview article. But I just wanted to show you two things:
I don’t know you, but when I use DPReviews own studio comparison tool, and make a 6 stop push starting from ISO 100, I can see a clear difference (see screenshot above). Look at the purple thread, which basically loses completely its texture in the Canon 5DSr and looks not good on the A7RII, too. The D810 is better than the other FF cameras, but the GFX 50s is still visibly better than the D810.
NOTE: I’m not saying the other cameras perform bad, not at all. I just say the GFX performs better.
I don’t know why DPReview did not mention the ISO invariance test results in their article, where they criticized the GFX. It’s a very important test, for example for landscape photographers, who want to be able to recover shadows with as little noise and retaining as much details as possible.
The GFX combines everything into one camera: lots of details, great dynamic range and awesome noise performance.
Is it worth the extra money over a high-end APS-C or FF camera? I don’t know, and luckily it’s a question I don’t have to think about it too much, since the GFX does not get along well with my bank account anyway.
With that said, I’m still firmely convinced that our beloved APS-C X-series cameras can do 90% of what the GFX does.
But yes, if you want the ultimate image quality and ultimate freedom to push your files to the limit, then the GFX is the upgrade you are looking for, since it does these 10% extra you are looking for better than any APS-C or Full Frame camera out there (as demonstrated also by DPR’s own studio tests).
That’s all folks :)

DPReview
Ok, so it’s not only me, who found the latest DPReview article very strange.
A few days ago I said that it’s kind of strange to take the best Full Frame cameras on the market (Sony A7rII, Canon 5DSr and Nikon D810), take of each one only the very best aspects, merge them together into one mythical SoNiCan D8A7Sr (can somebody photoshop it? ;) ), and compare this monster FF with 1 single camera, the Fujiflm GFX.
When it comes to IQ, all those FF cameras can’t match the GFX. You need 3 of them to come close to it.
Anyway, as I said, I’m not alone. You can also read this and more arguments at “DPReview Killed the Fujifilm GFX 50S using facts, they say. I Disagree” via thephotofundamentalist

ROBOshoot
John Poremba contacted me with some news to share that you might be interested in:
The next RoboSHOOT firmware version is being prepared for release. It is expected to provide additional flash support, enhances manual mode operation/performance, and supports In-Camera Flash Exposure Lock. Details are listed below.
WHAT’S NEW IN THIS VERSION
Added flash support – the added flash support includes:
– Nikon SB-800 and SB-5000
– Godox AD-360ii-N and X1N (Radio Remote)
– Profoto AirTTL-N and supported Profoto monolights
– Impact Venture Monolights with their Nikon Remote (reported support)
Plus, Monolights can be used along with normal flash at the same time.
Note, the Monolight support generally does not allow TTL+HSS at the same time. In that case, use manual power control In-Camera or on the controller for the Monolight. AutoFP will be selected according to shutter speed even if the light is in manual mode.
Manual Mode improvements (Selecting Manual Mode In-Camera for all groups with TTL flash):
– Manual Power is settable In-Camera for each group independently.
– AutoFP is available.
– Frame Rate of 8fps is possible.
This enables full In-Camera control of manual power and HSS while retaining high frame rates.
The In-Camera Flash Exposure Lock may now be used. The RoboSHOOT FEL function is still available but cannot be used at the same time as In-Camera lock (it is prevented).
