Debunked: Fujifilm Will NOT Announce Two Cameras on June 12 – Only Fujifilm X-E5 Coming in the Next Weeks

The… Rumor… (Sort of..)

So we know, Fujifilm has currently registered three unreleased cameras:

  • FF250001 – Fujifilm X-E5 (maybe not? important note at the bottom)
    Multi-frequency Wireless
  • FF250002 – Fujifilm GFX Eterna
    Multi-frequency Wireless
  • FF250003 – unknown
    Single Frequency Wireless

Recently, the Chinese weibo account E8M claimed he received information that two new Fujifilm cameras will be announced within the next three weeks – see here.

Well, to my knowledge that’s not correct.

From what I know, only one X/GFX camera will be announced in that timeframe: the Fujifilm X-E5.

E8M also reported that both FF250003 and FF250001 have appeared in the Bluetooth certification database – see here -, and that this implies both cameras are launching soon.

But again — to my knowledge — that’s not the case.

I have huge respect for E8M, because he is the best in spotting camera registrations that are made public on the internet for everyone and this is why I follow him with great dedication.

However, when it comes to rumors, I’d take them with a grain of salt.

As a reference in regards to E8M rumors, check out this list of rumors here and the rumors about the new X-Trans V sensor.

So, I invite everyone to follow E8M since he is fantastic, but take his “rumors” with a grain of salt.

But of course take also my rumors with a grain of salt. It’s all just rumors and I can be wrong too. With that said… just trust me ;).

An Instax?

Bottom line: in terms of X and GFX gear, only the X-E5 will be coming in the next few weeks.

As for other gear like a new Instax camera — maybe. That’s possible. But Instax models usually don’t appear under “FF…” registrations, so that’s a different story.

The True Question – Fujifilm X-T6 and Co?

More interesting, however, is a question raised by FR-reader Mistral:

Could it be that FF250003 (with single-band Wi-Fi) is actually the Fujifilm X-E5, and FF250001 (with dual-band Wi-Fi) refers to an entirely different, possibly higher-end camera?

That’s a possibility. If that’s the case, then FF250001 might not be the Fujifilm X-E5 after all — and that could open the door again for exciting high-end cameras like the Fujifilm X-T6, Fujifilm X-Pro4, Fujifilm X-H3, or Fujifilm X-H3S to arrive later in 2025.

But as of now, my best bet is that the FF250001 is the Fujifilm X-E5.

Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 DC ART Additional Specs … that Fujifilm Shooters Will LOVE

this is not the real lens but just a rendering
this is not the real lens but just a rendering

We have received additional specs about the upcoming Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 DC ART lens, which we remind you will be announced on June 17 along with the Sigma 12mmF1.4 as reported here.

The specs come from an anonymous source and no nickname has been shared in the message, but the way it was written I think it could come from the same anonymous source (with nickname), who shared the specs yesterday (and that source is accurate).

I share the rumor because I think it is the same source. But if that’s not the case, then I just published totally unverified rumor without any check from trusted sources. If that’s the case, take everything below with a grain of salt.

It’s now confirmed (THANKS), that the information comes from the same anonymous source with nickname, who has shared accurate information in the past.

In general a message to anyone: we also have a 100% anonymous Signal chat in which you can contact us.

  • Aperture ring, with de-click option
  • sealed against dust and splashes
  • Size: 115.9mm long, maximum diameter 72.9mm
  • 67mm filter
  • 535 gram
  • Internal Zoom
  • uses aspherical elements made of SLD (Super Low Dispersion) glass
  • manufactured with advanced polishing technology to minimize chromatic aberration, flare, distortion
  • excellent sharpness from corner to corner already at f/1.8
  • HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor (fast, silent and accurate)
  • excellent control over focus breathing
  • announcement June 17
  • shipping in July

I guess Fujifilm shooters will love it that it has an aperture ring (at least so says the rumor).

Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC ART Specs Leaked – Internal Zoom and 535g Weight

this is not the real lens but just a rendering
this is not the real lens but just a rendering

A source—who contacts us anonymously but consistently uses a recognizable nickname, and who has shared accurate information in the past (THANK YOU)—has now passed along the main specs for the upcoming Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC ART:

  • uses aspherical elements made of SLD (Super Low Dispersion) glass
  • manufactured with advanced polishing technology to minimize chromatic aberration, flare, distortion
  • excellent sharpness from corner to corner already at f/1.8
  • HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor (fast, silent and accurate)
  • excellent control over focus breathing
  • Internal Zoom
  • weight: 535g

Now, Sigma made the Sigma 18–35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for APS-C DSLR cameras (launched in 2013), but that one weights 810 grams. So there is a substantial weight reduction with the Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 DC ART, and it even has more range on both ends.

I guess that’s something we can really look forward to.

Fujifilm X-E5 with IBIS and 40 Megapixel – The Most Powerful X-E Ever… But at What Cost?

So, we have shared two crucial rumors regards the upcoming Fujifilm X-E5:

Now, every Fujifilm X-E camera launched so far had a price tag below 1K USD.

But this time it seems that Fujifilm has really packed all they can into the X-E5. And because of that, I think (not rumor) that we can forget it to cost 1K USD or less.

I know, I had 40MP and IBIS on my nice-to-have X-E5 wishlist. And I was aware that all this goodness would come at a price.

So personally I was be ready to pay more than 1K for the X-E5 with these features.

But what about you?

Would you consider buying the X-E5 only if it costs 1K or less?

Feel free to vote the survey:

Would You Still Buy the Fujifilm X-E5 If It Costs Over $1,000?

RUMOR: Fujifilm X-E5 IBIS Yes or No? – The Truth Revealed!

→ IBIS: Yes or No? This says it all :)

This is probably the question I have received most about the upcoming Fujifilm X-E5.

Will the Fujifilm X-E5 have IBIS?

And trust me, I feel the pressure to be absolutely right with this one.

So, while nothing is 100% sure in the rumor world, I’d say that I can now give you the answer with a 99% confidence.

Ready?

Some will be happy about it, others not. As always. But here is the answer.

Fujifilm X-E5 with 40MP Sensor – A Good Move? VOTE NOW

We told you that the Fujifilm X-E5 will use the 40MP X-Trans V sensor.

Some rejoiced at this news (such as me), others instead would have preferred the 26MP sensor in combination with the X Processor 5 (like on the X-S20 and X-M5).

I think that for a photography first camera, 40MP is the best pick, whereas for a mid-range hybrid camera (such as the X-S20) 26MP makes more sense.

But let us know what you think by voting the survey down below.

RUMOR: This is the Sensor of the Fujifilm X-E5

→ in short: it’s the same sensor of this Fujifilm camera

One of the big questions I got recently was if the Fujifilm X-E5 will adopt the Fujifilm X-S20 solution (26MP + X Processor 5) or the X-T50 solution (40MP + X Processor 5).

And look, I know this is something I can’t get wrong, so I have waited to have mulitple confirmation from several trusted sources before sharing it.

Well, now I am confident enough to share it….

Fringer EF-FX Ultra with Focal Reducer Announced and New Firmware for Fringer EF-FX Pro III, EF-FX Pro II and EF-FX II

Fringer has announced two things:

Fringer already teased the Fringer EF-FX Ultra back at CP+ along with the Fringer P645-GFX.

All details below.

Firmware Update

2025/3/30
Version 2.80

  1. Added support for the focal reducer version (EF-FX Ultra)
  2. Added following lenses to the tested and optimized lens list:
    1) Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM
    2) Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM + 1.4X
    3) Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM + 2X
    4) Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8L USM
    5) Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM
    6) Sigma 28-80mm F/3.5-5.6 Aspherical Macro II
  3. Issue fixed: Hunting problem in focal range 15-22mm of Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
  4. IS logic change: For some lenses with built-in IS function, the user can choose to enable lens IS or IBIS. The control logic is as follows:
    1) When powering on the camera or switching back to shooting mode from playback mode, the state of the lens IS switch determines which IS is enabled: if the switch is ON, lens IS is enabled; if the switch is OFF, IBIS is enabled
    2) If the lens IS switch is ON when the camera is turned on, the lens IS is controlled by the lens IS switch and the IS mode in the camera menu. The IBIS function is always turned off. Even if the lens IS switch is turned from ON to OFF when the camera is turned on, the IBIS will not be automatically activated. To activate the IBIS function, please turn the camera off and then turn it back on, or play back a photo.
    3) If the lens IS switch is OFF when the camera is turned on, the IBIS will be
controlled by the IS mode in the camera menu. The lens IS function remains OFF. If the lens IS switch is turned from OFF to ON at this time, the camera will automatically restart to re-enable the lens IS function. 4) The lenses that currently support this IS selection function include:
    i. Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM
ii. TAMRON SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD
iii. TAMRON SP 45mm F/1.8 Di VC USD
    5) Lenses with IS function that is not on the above list still work with lens IS only. They don’t support IBIS.

You can download the new firwmare at the Fringer website here.
