First Used Fujifilm X Half Cameras Available, Fujifilm X100F and More Used Fujifilm Gear

The first used Fujifilm X half cameras are now listed at BHphoto.

There is also a used Fujifilm X100F available as well as the Fujifilm X100V (but the V is overpriced)

But there is a lot more Fujifilm gear listed used at BHphoto. For example:

Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC ART – The Prime Killer vs. Sigma 16/23/30/56mmF1.4

Arthur has compared the brand new Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 DC ART vs the Sigma APS-C prime lenses quartet, namely the Sigma 16mmF1.4, Sigma 23mmF1.4, Sigma 30mmF1.4 and Sigma 56mmF1.4.

In his video, which you can see below, he says:

  • the Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 will share up and revilalize the APS-C landscape
  • larger than any of these Sigma APS-C primes
  • can the new Sigma zoom replace these prime lenses?
  • the primes let in 2/3 more stops of light
  • on the zoom you don’t have to change lenses
  • less color fringing on 17-40 over the 16
  • the 17-40 is sharper than the 16mm
  • 17-40 optically amazing on the wide end
  • more chromatic aberration on the 16mm prime
  • the 17-40mm has similar sharpness than the Sigma 23mm at f/1.8
  • bokeh balls have similar size on 23mm at f/1.4 and 17-40 at f/1.8. But 17-40 has less green outlining on the bokeh balls
  • 30mm has slight sharpness advantage over the 17-40
  • bokeh is smoother on the 30mm
  • less fringing on the zoom
  • 56 is tougher to compare since 17-40 goes only to 40mm
  • 56mm is sharper
  • after testing, he says he’d consider selling his 16,23 and 30 for the 17-40

Silver Fujinon XF50mmF2 and XF23mmF2 Discontinued

We told you back in April that the following two lenses are going to be discontinued.

Well, now the silver XF23mmF2 is discontinued at BHphoto and in closeout sale at Adorama, while the silver Fujinon XF50mm F2 R WR silver is discontinued in Japan as reported by asobinet.

The silver XF50mmF2 can still be found for example at BHphoto here.

Also already discontinued: the Fujinon XF16mm f/2.8 R WR silver and the Fujinon XC50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS II silver

Discontinued Silver XF Lenses

Fujinon XF23mmF2 Silver and XF50mmF2 Silver to Be Discontinued

We just reported about how the Fujinon XF16mm f/2.8 R WR silver and the Fujinon XC50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS II silver are starting to get marked as discontinued in Japan.

Well, back in late March, an anonymous source whom I tried to contact via FujiRumors with this article, already anticipated to me that the XC50-230mm silver would get discontinued.

And it told me more.

Also the following two lenses will be discontinued:

It is the same source, who asked me if I ever heard of a certain camera – never rumored before – and I answered this question here (with an offer to eventually contact me 100% anonymously via Signal to talk about it). So I grab this opportunity to renew this offering to the anonymous source, who luckily decided to use a nickname. Thanks.

Sigma 16-300mmF3.5-6.7 vs Tamron 18-300mmF3.5-6.3 – Specs Comparison

Earlier today Sigma has announced the Sigma 16-300mmF3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary. You can pre-order it here.

It’s only competitor is the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3.

I used the BH comparison tool to compare side by side the specs of both lenses.

At a first glance, I’d say that at least for me the Sigma 16-300mm is the better pick, mainly because of the 16mm at the wide end. But it also has more aperture blades (which potentially means smoother bokeh) and a more sophisticated lens design. All of it packed in a lens about the same size of the Tamron and at the same price, too.

But feel free to take a look at the specs comparison yourself and let us know in the comments what you think is the better pick.
