STAY TUNED: Fujifilm GFX100RF Front View Image Coming Today – And See the Crop Lever Now!

Earlier today Fujifilm shared the first image of the front view of the Fujifilm GFX100RF.

Well, our sources thought that the Fujifilm community needs more than just that massively underexposed image.

So they reached out to us and passed us a very clear image of the entire front of the GFX100RF (the top and backside can be seen here).

I am preparing the article now and will share it today.

In the meantime you can see the crop zoom lever placed under the ON/OFF switch and (big) command dial.

You toggle the lever left or right to change the crop, and it automatically flips back to the center after each adjustment.

Fujifilm Shares Image of Fujifilm GFX100RF

When announcing the Fujifilm X summit on March 20 at 5AM New York time, Fujifilm has also shared the first “official” image of the Fujifilm GFX100RF.

The original images is underexposed, so you get it brightened up for you here on FujiRumors. We can see:

  • lens looks rather compact
  • the crop lever under the shutter button
  • there is still the viewfinder selector, but the Fujifilm GFX100RF has an EVF only, so it likely has another function.

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

If you want to get a clear view of the top and back of the Fujifilm GFX100RF, check out this article.

EXCLUSIVE: First Image of Fujifilm GFX100RF

So guys, thanks to our trusted sources (THANKS!!!) here you have it: the first image of the upcoming Fujifilm GFX100RF.

We can see:

  • the dedicated aspect ratio dial (a very different solution compared to the aspect ratio switch on the Panasonic LX-100)
  • no D-Pad
  • Fujifilm’s most brilliant (and most irrational) dial, the combined shutter/ISO dial
  • a rather large rear command dial
  • the usual things (S,C,M switch, joystick, marked and unmarked buttons

So far so good if you ask me, but I am curious the read what you think about it.

Stay Tuned: First Image of Fujifilm GFX100RF Coming Today… and See the Aspect Ratio Dial NOW!

Stay tuned guys… today you’ll get the first image of the Fujifilm GFX100RF.

But one tidbit just to set things right:

Some said that the aspect ratio switch is nothing new, as it is used already by other cameras like this one.

But in the image above you can see that Fujifilm adopted a radically different solution by giving it a dedicated dial which also means that very likely you’ll be able to select many more aspect ratio options that the ones we get for example with the Panasonic LX-100.

But we have more to talk about very soon… so stay tuned ;).

Fujifilm GFX100RF: More Than Just a Camera for $5K – Here’s What You Get!

We told you that the Fujifilm GFX100RF will cost about 5,000 USD.

While 37% of you either though the price is OK or suspended the judgment until they see the full specs, 63% of you straight out voted that the price is too high – see poll results here.

But that’s apparently not the full story.

In fact, after we shared the survey, the same trusted source, who told us the US Dollar price, reached out to me and wanted me to inform the fellow Fujifilm community, that there is a bit more than “just” the camera and lens coming for “about 5K”. Because included in the price there will also be:

I guess this won’t change the mind of the 63% of people, who think the Fujifilm GFX100RF is overpriced, but it is a nice set of freebies anyway.

Update: Fujifilm never gave us free filters and filter adapters with cameras. Nor did they include a square lens hood. So this is a first ever for Fujifilm. Also, the strap is of a much higher quality than the cheap one we usually get.

Fujifilm GFX100RF for “around 5,000 USD” – Let us Know What You Think – VOTE

We just told you that the Fujifilm GFX100RF will cost “around $5,000“.

That’s a lower price tag compared to what I consider to be its closest competitor, the Leica Q3.

I was curious to know what you think about it, so I launched a survey below. Feel free to drop your vote.

EXCLUSIVE: Fujifilm GFX100RF Price Leaked

Do you remember the Fujifilm X70?

And what has the Fujifilm X70 to do with the rumor we share today?

Well, the X70 is the prime example on why rumors about the price of upcoming gear are the trickiest to share.

Because not only Fujifilm can change the price of new gear until just a few days ahead of its announcement. But as we could see with the Fujifilm X70, Fujifilm can change the retail price on gear also just a few days after its announcement. Because that’s what happened with the Fujifilm X70, which was launched at $799 but just a few days later, while it was still on pre-order, Fujifilm lowered the price to $699 as we reported here.

So should FujiRumors never share price rumors ever again?

Nope… but we give you this important disclaimer. And with that said, we can share the rumor.

According to information we have received from our sources, the price for the Fujifilm GFX100RF should be “around 5,000 USD“.

That’s more affordable than what I consider to be its closest competitor, the Leica Q3.

Fujikina Prague March 22/23: Go Hands on with Fujifilm GFX100RF (and More?)

Fujikina Prague

Following the Fujifilm X Summit on March 20 (as FR told you exclusively here), there will be the Fujikina on March 22/23 in Prague.

This will be the first event in which Fujifilm will publicly display the latest Fujifilm X and GFX gear, with the Fujifilm GFX100RF probably being the main course of the meal.

You can book your ticket here.

Fujikina ≠ X Summit

Most of the Fujikina events are standalone events, meaning they are not scheduled close to product launches.

For example, last year we had:

  • Fujikina Berlin – April 6
  • Fujikina Manila – April 27
  • Fujikina Arles –  June 18
  • Fujikina Barcelona – November 17

All these Fujikina events happened several weeks or even months away from any Fujifilm announcement (there were a total of 3 X Summits in 2024).

So, it’s a fact: most Fujikina events are not scheduled in proximity of new product launches.

Fujikina Reports Lack – Why?

The fact that most Fujikina events do not coincide with new product launches is also the main reason why I stopped reporting about Fujikina events.

The reason is simple: I noticed that if I share them on FujiRumors, people assume that new gear will be announced ahead of that Fujikina event.

And since I don’t want to create false hopes or misunderstandings, I only report about Fujikina events that coincide with new gear launches.

I Can Change That

I find it a pity not to report about Fujikina events, even if in most cases they are totally unrelated to new product launches.

So I am considering to change my position and report about future events.

But it has to be clear to all FujiRumors readers: if I report about a Fujikina event, I don’t also mean to say that new gear must be announced around then. On the contrary, in most cases do not expect to see any new gear there.

If that is clear, I will report about all possible Fujikina events again.

Back to Prague

But this time, at the Fujikina in Prague, you can be sure to see brand new gear.

So you can book your spot if you want to be one of the first to touch & try the Fujifilm GFX100RF…. and who knows what else. ;)

Happy to help you out with your travel plans ;)

Fujifilm GFX100RF Coming in Two Colors (First Time Ever for GFX System) – And How to Pick the Right One ;)

In theory this should me a minor rumor.

And yet, I know it will be one of those, that will make future Fujifilm GFX100RF owners struggle quite a bit.

So what’s about?

Well, the Fujifilm GFX100RF will be offered in black and in silver.

Sure, nothing earth shattering.

But it is the first time ever Fujifilm is offering color options for a GFX camera.

While it’s nice to have more options, at the same time it also makes the choice harder.

So, which one should you go for?

Well, I have theory on which one is better: it’s the one that survives the assault of scalpers and that you are still lucky enough to find in stock somewhere.

And I speak out of experience.

No joke… I made the same error.

When the X100VI was launched, I miraculously found it available a few days after launch at my local store. They had one sample, all black. I wanted to grab it, but then I asked if they’ll get also the silver one. They said “probably next week“. So a week passed by, I went to the photography store and asked to see also the silver one. Answer: “All sold out. No idea when we will get new units“. I still pass there every now and then, but haven’t seen an X100VI ever again.

So, the one to get, is the one you find in stock. Silver or black, I am sure they’ll both look sexy.
