The Fujifilm X Dream Team: or a Fujifilm X-T5, X-H2 and X-H2S Roundup

Share

Ah, remember the good times called “2022” when Fujifilm dropped three higher end APS-C cameras within 8 months?

Well, 2023 is still long, so let’s hope in awesome new gear to drop also this year.

But until then, let’s look back at the Fujifilm X awesomeness of 2022 and dedicate a roundup to the Fujifilm X-T5, X-H2 and X-H2s.

The Roundup

Sean Reid at www.reidreviews.com has recently published a full review of the Fujinon XF 30mm f/2.8 LM WR Macro as well as a review of the Fujifilm X-T5 and detailed side-by-side studio tests of the X-T5 and X-T4. Those studio comparison tests look at resolution, color rendering, noise at various ISO levels, moire and the X-T5’s pixel shift performance.

I asked Reid if he could share an aspect of his test results that might be particularly interesting to Fuji Rumors readers. He noted this:

One of the things that we don’t always think about, with higher resolution cameras, is the positive affect increased MP count can have on moire. In essence, every square mm of a subject is seen by more photosites when photographed with the X-T5 than with the X-T4. All else being equal, the change should decrease moire and that’s just what I saw in the studio comparison tests.

Reid has previously reviewed many other Fuji X and G system cameras & lenses and the article topics are all listed here: https://www.reidreviews.com/articleindextable.html.
