The Fujifilm GFX (and Lenses) will Start Shipping February 23 (in USA) – Annoucement January 19

The current shipping embargo of the Fujifilm GFX is February 23. Of course there can be changes anytime, mostly depending on eventual last second firmware issues. But also in that case, Fujifilm will work hard to ship the GFX before the end of March, when the Japanese fiscal year is ending and Fujifilm would like to share some positive GFX sale numbers with its investors ;)

The shipping embargo rumor is for USA, but it should apply to all the world (maybe it will ship even earlier in Japan).

Recent rumor confirm, that the price for the body + lens (63mm) will be of $8000

Fuji X-T2 Shipping Starts Late August

I know, Fujifilm said it in the official Press Release and all the stores also say the same: the Fujifilm X-T2 shipping will start on the 8th of September (that’s the “shipping embargo” date).

However, a trusted source would like me to share with all of you, that Fujifilm decided to start shipping the Fujifilm X-T2 already in late August.

Of course, I never doubt what my trusted sources tell me. In fact, it already happened in the past, that they shared information with us, that contraddicted everything that Fujifilm has said, announced and even shown to the world… and yet our sources where right ;) .

Now, since this trusted source contacts me anonymously via rumor box (using a nick name) I’d like to ask it, if this is valid for all the world, or just for some countries.

KEEP IN MIND: shipping might start late August, but it will take longer until the X-T2 is marked by stores as “in stock“.

Why is the X-T2 shipping earlier?

But why is the X-T2 shipping earlier than originally announced by Fujifilm?

I don’t know it, but maybe the Firmware is now finalized. Hence, Fujifilm can now upload it on all the X-T2’s, put that beauty in a fancy box and send it straight to X-shooters all over the globe!

Or maybe the Fujifilm X-T2 pre-orders were lower than Fujifilm expected, so that the company can start shipping the X-T2 earlier than expected.

But that’s just all speculation. What matters is that, those, who pre-ordered very early, might get their X-T2 already within the end of August…. if no last minute bug is found ;)

Lucky Fujifilm :: 24MP X-TransIII Sensors Produced before Kumamoto Earthquake :: No Significant X-T2 Shipping Delay :-)

Many times we X-shooters had to wait more than expected for X-gear to ship… and sometimes the waiting was just ridiculously long, just like in case of the X100S, announced in January, but only widely available in October.

But sometimes…

sometimes even X-shooters are lucky. And in this case the good news comes from mirrorlessrumors.

They say that many companies are delaying the launch and shipping of their products for at least 4 months, due to the Kumamoto earthquake… but not Fujifilm:

And a lucky note on Fuji: They ordered a big lot of the X-T2 sensors made by Sony long before the Kumamoto earthquake. And lucky enough Sony produced most of those sensors before the shutdown in April. Fuji could ship the new X-T2 already now but they prefered to start shipping the cameras in September to reduce the production gab between this first batch of cameras and the second batch that is affected by Sony’s production delay.

Good news, at least for us Fujifilm aficionados. And this might also explain why some stores initially marked the X-T2 as available in August (actually some still say this way), while they now changed to September 8.
