X-E2 Beyond the Manual – Deal

You can now sign up and get notified as soon as the X-E2 book is available for purchase in English here at rockynook. You’ll then get an email with a special code that allows you to save 40%. (if you click on the Rocky Nook links in this post, you’ll see the book marked as available in September, but this is just because Rocky Nook has still to change the date also on the “PROMO PAGE”)

The German Version can be purchased at dpunkt here.

_ _ _

In the last few days, I’ve received some emails and tweets from FR-readers waiting for the English version of Rico’s (excellent) X-E2 book, telling me that the publisher, Rocky Nook, notified them, that the release has been pushed back to September because of “new software” coming. In fact, I’ve checked Rocky Nook’s Page, and the book was marked as available in September…  but just for a short time.

The expected release is now again August. So there won’t be any further delay (the book was originally scheduled for late July).

The book is coming, as expected, this month + I haven’t heard anything about a new firmware, ergo → I don’t think a new firmware is imminent.

But this doesn’t mean that we can’t keep up thinking at which improvements we would like to have for our X-whatever. What should be next? The +/-3 bracketing? The direct Instax Share Printer Support? The WiFi remote control for all X-cameras? Noise reduction improvement at high ISO for skin tones (jpeg’s)? The ability to change the focus point even when face detection is enabled (but no face is detected)?

I’m sure you’ll have some nice ideas to add in the comments, so keep them coming.

Also, here are the results of the super-firmware poll of January. It’s still open, so feel free to keep up voting the ultimate Kaizen firmware polls (3 blocks, each one with a maximum of 3 selections).
