Fujifilm Manager: GFX & X-T2 Demand Higher than Expected :: Fujinon 200/2.8 or 200/2 :: Fujifilm X-E3 :: X-T2 Kaizen & More

These are busy days for journalists at the CP+ in Japan, and the next interview with Fujifilm Managers just hit the web, this time again with Mr Makoto Oishi. Some excerpts:

  • We’ve sold more X-T2’s than we ever expected.”
  • X-T2 shipping problems due to Kumamoto earthquake. But “from this year we’re in a better position and we have enough stock.”
  • The request to control ISO on X-T2 via FN button/command dial instead of dedicated dial is something that Fujifilm “should consider” to add “maybe a firmware upgrade
  • GFX more demand than we expected
  • “When we announce our new telephoto prime we also need a higher performance body”.
  • “We’re still thinking about the focal length and the aperture. There’s a big difference between a 200mm f/2.8 and a 200mm f/2 – they’re totally different.” – NOTE: a rumor of last year, February 2016, said 200mmF2.
  • X70 was successful last year and Fujifilm wants to keep small fixed lens compact cameras in their lineup – NOTE: X80 Rumor
  • X-E3: “With the strong demand for X-E series cameras we have to think seriously about the future lineup.” NOTE: Check out this X-E3 rumor

The Fujifilm X-T2 is Shipping Now… at Least at Some Stores :-)

twshiping-600x396

I know, there is an official “shipping embargo” on the Fujifilm X-T2 set at September 8. And yes, we also know it since this post, that Fujifilm already shipped the X-T2 to stores.

Well, it seems that some stores are just as excited to ship the camera, as customers are excited to finally get it. So it’s the case of Canadian Californian Store OC Camera, who officially said on their instagram page here:

Now Available FujiFilm X-T2 Mirrorless Digital Camera at OC Camera!! We already had our good friend @chrisdiset pick up the first one to come in stock so be sure to stop by today or check out our website

thanks for the link ;)

Fuji X-T2s on the Way – BHphoto Gets First Batch Tomorrow, but Shipping Will Start on September 8

Fuji X-T2 BHphoto

submitted via guest post feature by Steve

“I just called B & H to check on the status of my July 7 X-T2 order because I’m leaving tomorrow (8/31) for a 2 week trip to Ireland. They told me they were getting several thousand in tomorrow. Of course.”

ADMIN NOTE 1: If the information Steve got is correct, then it seems BHphoto will have a quite large stock of X-T2’s available tomorrow.

ADMIN NOTE 2: Keep in mind that Fuji has some kind of “shipping embargo” on products (in the case of the X-T2 the deadline is September 8). This means that, although stores get the products earlier, they have to wait for the shipping embargo to end, before they can start delivering. Don’t ask me why stores have to sit on those X-T2 boxes for one more week.

And what about your pre-order? What is your store saying? We have an X-T2 Pre-orders thread also at our Fuji X Forum here.

Fuji Video Edition

At the beginning of the X-series journey, most X-shooters didn’t bother about using video on X-series cameras.

An example of how little we cared, is when back in July 2013 a faulty X-Pro1 firmware update introduced a serious bug in video mode… well, that was the day that most of us discovered that the X-Pro1 can actually shoot video at all, and we installed the faulty firmware anyway :) .

However, things have changed since then, and people are now looking more and more for hybrid stills/video cameras. It took Fujifilm longer than other companies, but they finally catched up, thanks to X-TransIII and X-Processor Pro camera.

The next “level up” in Fujifilm video world will come with the Fujifilm X-T2S, thanks to IBIS (in body image stabilization).

Anyway, I thought it might be high time to work on a little roundup dedicated to Fuji & Video.

Of course, being about video, this roundup includes youtube videos, so save your mobile data and feel free check it out when you are connected to WiFi network.

Big Fujikina Event in Toyko September 7, 2017

Earlier this year, on January 21, Fujifilm launched the first “Fujikina” event in Kyoto, Japan. On that event, Fujifilm also announced the Fujifilm GFX and more.

Well, Fujifilm just officially announced a new Fujikina event, this time in Toyko on September 7, 2017. If you want, you can sign-up now for the event.

And if Fujifilm does it like last time, also this one could be a nice event to finally unveil to the world new gear, such as the rumored X-E3, XF80 Macro, the GF 45mm and maybe even more.

And don’t worry, if you can’t go to the event, FujiRumors will be the one place where to be, to get virtually as close to the event as possible… your window to Fujikina 2017!

So make sure to stay tuned on fujirumors via Facebook, RSS-feed, Twitter and allow push notifications (click the bell on the bottom right of your browser), to get all the information you need in real time here, non-stop and super fast 24×7 ;)
