Fujifilm GFX100 Reviews: Groundbreaking Features, Justified Price and it Will Leave you Extremely Satisfied

Fujifilm GFX100 Reviews

ePhotozine published their full Fujifilm GFX100 review. From their conclusions:

The Fujifilm GFX 100 offers a whole host of groundbreaking features, starting with an excellent 100mp BSI CMOS medium-format sensor, combined with high-quality lenses and excellent image processing (and colour reproduction), and you get exceptional results. What’s even more impressive is how easy the camera is to use, whilst still obtaining results that impress. Thanks to the in-body sensor-based image stabilisation, you don’t have to worry about taking all your shots on a tripod, or using a self-timer.

The negatives we mention below are somewhat of a given, considering you’re looking at a 100mp camera, it’s to be expected that you’ll need a computer (and storage) that is capable of dealing with 100mp images. There will be those that find the camera too large (and heavy), however, again, the camera needs this space to support two batteries, and the in-body image stabilisation system, both things are particularly beneficial to get the best out of the camera.

It’s the kind of camera that will leave you extremely satisfied.

If you can afford it, and want the best available, then the Fujifilm GFX100 is a camera that delivers the results, and the price is easily justified. The Fujifilm GFX100 is, without doubt, an exceptional, and groundbreaking camera, well worth the money.

NEW Images of Viltrox 23mm f/1.4, 33mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 Autofocus Lenses for Fujifilm X

Share

Just yesterday FujiRumors reported first the news about the first images and specs of the upcoming Viltrox 23mm f/1.4, 33mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4.

Now Viltrox uploaded additional images on their weibo account, that you can all see down below.

Note that all lenses have a dedicated aperture ring, as opposed to the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 AF. Personally I consider this a fantastic news.

3½ Reasons Why Fujifilm is Waiting so Long to Release the Fujifilm X100V

Fujifilm X100V

When I recently posted the huge Fujifilm camera release timeline, I made one single error, that thankfully you guys corrected in the comments.

I calculated, that the Fujifilm X100 series got a refresh every 2 years, which is absolutely correct. But then, based on that refresh cycle, I said that the X100V should come two years after the X100F (which was announced in January 2017).

But this would mean the Fujifilm X100V should have hit the market in January 2019, which evidently it has not. Our sources say it will come at some point in 2020.

Now, not to justify my error, but, well, I run FujiRumors 365 days a year non stop, and I wrote that particular article in a bar, drinking beer, while waiting for the rain to stop and finally go out shooting again with my X-E3, as you can see here. Well, at this point I’ll just say is that it rained a lot that day ;)

I apologize if I confused you guys, so I felt I need to address this in a dedicated article.

But also, this is a good opportunity to quickly discuss, why Fujifilm is waiting so long, to finally give us a successor to the Fujifilm X100F.

Down below 3½ reasons for that:

Guys, Photography Gear is Not Real Estate, or Why We Should not Complain that Fujifilm X-H1 costs $299

Share

The Controversial Deal

So Fujifilm just launched a mega deal on the Fujifilm X-H1, where you can get the X-H1 body with vertical grip and 2 spare batteries for $999.

Even better, if you bundle it with the Fujinon XF8-16mmF2.8, you are basically going to pay the X-H1 with grip $299 only, or $499 if you bundle it with XF16-55mmF2.8.

Now, I understand it can be annoying, that our gear loses a lot of value.

But guys, the sooner we stop considering our gear an investment that has to keep most of its value over time, the earlier we’ll start feeling better.

It is inevitable, because…
