EXCLUSIVE: Fujifilm X100V with 2 way Tilt Screen

Fujifilm X100V

Hey guys, had a good weekend? I hope so.

I thought we start the week with something fun… a nice rumor, courtesy of a kind source (thanks) :).

Back in November 2, there was an original report on dpreview, that said:

I also got a little bit of gossip from the Fujifilm rep on the x100 refresh: He said that he has seen three mock ups of potential designs, two of which have flip screens (with one modelled on the Xpro3’s).

That triggered a wave of disinformation, claiming the X100V would have the X-Pro3 hidden screen.

FujiRumors tried to stop this speculation immediately on November 3 here, by telling you the Fujifilm X100V will not have the Fujifilm X-Pro3 screen.

Today, thanks to our fantastic sources, we would like to disclose the full truth: the Fujifilm X100V will have a 2 way tilt screen!

Now, you know I shoot X-E3, so tilt screens are not a priority for me. But it’s also true that shooting from the hip can come in quite handy during street photography, as Zack Arias has shown here (go to minute 0:40).

So there will be some who love the idea of a tilt screen, others will hate it. Let us know in the survey what’s your take on this.

Fujifilm X100V with 2 way tilt screen, a good Idea?

EXCLUSIVE: No New Fujifilm GFX Camera Coming in 2020. We have to Wait until 2021 – Trusted Source

Fujifilm GFX

Hey folks!

I have a very important update for you.

I recently got dozen of emails of worried people, who were about to order a Fujifilm GFX 50S/R camera.

The reason?

Everybody thought, that the last mysterious registered camera, the FF190003, would be a GFX camera, and hence they would buy gear that would be about to be replaced.

But after FujiRumors unveiled them all (X-T4, X-T200 and X100V), they proceeded with their order.

With the name of all imminent cameras leaked, everybody came to the logical conclusion, that there are no GFX cameras that are close to releasing.

But I am here today to tell you it is actually worse than that!

Thanks to our trusted sources, I am now able to tell you, that there will NOT be ANY new Fujifilm GFX camera in 2020!

I believe that the Fujifilm GFX has a enormous potential and if developed at a proper pace, could be a fantastic alternative to all other camera systems out there.

By waiting so long with new GFX cameras, the risk is that Fujifilm could miss the boat and lose the momentum that is bringing so many full frame shooters into the GFX system.

But let’s try to see things positive:

  • if you purchase a GFX now, you can be sure you won’t be surprised by any successor in 2020
  • the long wait could mean that Fujifilm does not want to offer a minor MKII upgrade, but something more substantial
  • Fujifilm could free up resources to put into the development of Fujinon GFX lenses

Anyway, in 2020, the Fujifilm GFX camera lineup will still consist in:

So this will be the first year, where we do not get a new Fujifilm GFX camera.

BREAKING: Fujifilm X-T3 Successor Shipping in March/Early Spring 2020 – TRUSTED SOURCE

Fujifilm X-T3 Successor

Ok, let’s rock it!

According to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-T3 successor will start shipping in March/early spring.

This comes surprising, as if we take a look at the complete Fujifilm X cameras release timeline, if Fujifilm would have kept their usual X-T refresh-pace, it should have come around September 2020.

But this time Fujifilm decided to anticipate the release by half a year, replacing the glorious Fujifilm X-T3 just 1.5 years later.

Now, I do not know if it will be called Fujifilm X-T4, or Fujifilm X-T5 or Fujifilm X-T3s or whatever. What I know, is that it will ship very soon.

Oh, it’s from trusted sources, so you are not allowed to doubt this rumor, but you are allowed to share the good news… and of course quote and link FujiRumors as the source, don’t “forget” that ;).

And stay tuned… as more is coming soon on FujiRumors only, of course.

The Rumor Year 2019: The Right, the Wrong and the Still to Come!

The Rumor Year 2019

As you know, I am a teacher, and usually it’s me, who has to judge and give votes to others.

But not today, as it’s time for our yearly 2019 rumors check, and to see if I did my homework well or not.

Also, there will be an accuracy rating of those rumors, that still could not be verified.

Keep in mind, there could be further rumors before the end of the year, in which case I will update this list!

Ready? Cool, so let’s start,

But be warned: I will be incredible severe to myself, as I will include in the wrong rumor section, rumors that were actually correct at the time of sharing, but just turned out wrong because Fujifilm changed plans.

It’s the case for example of the new lens roadmaps. In fact, just a few days after our rumor, top Fujifilm manager confirmed here, that indeed there would have been new roadmaps in 2019, but 2019 is now ending, and nothing came. So I was wrong, but so was the top Fujifilm manager.

DPRTV 2020 Camera Companies Resolutions: Fujifilm Should Merge X-T and X-H Line and Sony Steal Fujifilm Colors

2020 Camera Resolutions

DPReviewTV has published their 2020 resolutions for every camera company, of course including Fujifilm.

Regarding Fujifilm, they say:

When asked if Fujifilm should merge X-T and X-H line, most of you guys voted you prefer to keep both lines well separated, and I believe that would make sense, for the reasons I explained in this article.

What I believe would make sense, though, is to give us a Fujifilm X-T4 with IBIS and maybe a bigger battery. Do that, and you’ll make tons of Fujifilm shooters happy.

I am not sure about the Fujifilm X-A7 flippy screen, though, as this would make it tilt in the wrong direction, when shooting portraits. Maybe that’s more something for the Fujifilm X-H2.

Neopan 400 is a much loved film, as you can see from these customer reviews. So make it happen, Fuji!

As recently measured, Fujifilm has currenty the worse face/eye AF. But I would not worry about that too much. A major improvement is coming via firmware, soon.

You can see the full video above, where, among the others, the recommend Sony to steal Fujifilm colors ;).

“Soon the Fujifilm GFX System will Make Full Frame Difficult to Choose” – Fujifilm GFX100 Review

Fujifilm has a clear strategy: do not join the overcrowded mirrorless full frame war, dominate APS-C and MF, and then attack full frame from both sides.

If that will work, only time will tell.

But GxAce seems to be one of those, who thinks this strategy could actually work out well for Fujifilm.

Back in October he published this captivating and controversial video called “Bye bye full frame“, as he believed the X-T3 was one good reason not to go full frame. If you want to see and read his arguing, check out this article.

Now he also reviewed the Fujifilm GFX100, and he says that:

in a few years, when the features and reliability and performance of the GFX100 trickle down to cheaper cost models, it really will make full frame difficult to choose over the alternative

Looking at the fact, that already now 70% of GFX users come from Full Frame, as a Fujifilm manager officially said here, he might not be too far off with his prediciton.

You can see the full review above and read a summary below.

  • it surprised him how similar it was to a Fujifilm X-T3, in the way it performs and handles
  • 10,000 seem much, but it’s priced around a top tier DSLR
  • it’s by far the easiest and most reliable medium format to use
  • images are just ridiculous
  • it’s actually a light camera
  • futuristic and modern looking design, he likes that
  • he’d like that “cyper-punk” design also for the X-T line
  • very good battery life
  • AF is not as good for video as it is for stills. He shoots manual focus in video anyway
  • he used an anamorphic adapter
  • the GFX100 opens up doors to get similar aesthetic look to an Alexa 65 or an Imax camera, for a fraction of the cost
  • he’d live Indie filmmakers to make videos on GFX100 instead of a Red or Blackmagic. You get a look that isn’t possible with those cameras, unless you go up an spend $100,000 for an Arri Alexa
  • this camera is a paradigm shift in photography
  • first MF camera that functions and works just as easily and as conveniently as your tipical mirrorless camera
  • a huge step in terms of bringing medium format to the everyday person
  • in a few years, when the features and reliability and performance of this camera trickles down to cheaper cost models, it really will make full frame difficult to choose over the alternative

Exclusive: Fujifilm X100V Release Month and Price Leaked – Read Now on FujiRumors!

Fujifilm X100V

As you can see from our Fujifilm camera release timeline, Fujifilm usually released a new X100 camera every two years, but this time, they waited unusually long, and we gave you 3½ reasons why Fujifilm is wating so long.

But at some point, it had to happen, and now I can tell you when.

The Fujifilm X100V will see the light of the day in February 2020.

Moreover, our sources tell us that the price should be around $1,500, but that’s just the current estimate. However, in terms of price, things can change from here until launch, but right now Fujifilm is gravitating towards this price tag.

Top Selling Gear in November: Neewer 35mm f/1.2 beats Fujinon XF, Fujifilm X-T3 Claims its Throne Again, Capture One Above all Else

TOP 3 SELLING…

Here is the best selling gear on FujiRumors for November.

Top Accessories

Top Fujifilm Series Cameras

With the Fujifilm X-H1 now widely discontinued, and the X-Pro3 buzz slowly settling down, the Fujifilm X-T3 claims back its throne as the best selling camera.

Top Fujinon X Lenses

The launch of the exclusive X-T3 with 16-80mm bundle with the addition of a special rebate has boosted the 16-80 at the top of the ranking, closely followed by the discounted XF16-55mm f/2.8 and the also discounted XF90mm f/2.

Top Fujifilm GFX Gear

All Fujinon GF lenses (except for GF50mm f/3.5) are now heavily discounted. See the full list of discounted GF lenses here.

Top X Mount Third Party Lenses

The Neewer 35mm F1.2 becomes the most sold lens overall (even better than Fujinon lenses), thanks to a further price reduction that now makes it ridiculously cheap.

The evergreen Samyang 12mm f/2 makes it back in the list.

Top Software

  1. Capture One Pro
  2. Adobe Creative Cloud
  3. Luminar 4

Capture One Pro remains unbeatable, but Adobe Creative Cloud saw a nice revival here on FujiRumors, probably thanks to the black friday sale.

Phase One has released Capture One 20.

Fujifilm X-T4 Rumors Surfaced – REPORT

Fujifilm X-T4 – SPECS

Over at our wonderful Fujifilm X-T facebook group, Jason claims to have talked to a reliable contact at Fujifilm, and it told him here regarding the Fujifilm X-T4.

  • X-T4 with IBIS
  • expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier
  • On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal
  • anamorphic ratio
  • fully articulating flippy…essentially an S1H but APSc with Fuji color and obviously much smaller
  • release end of 2020

I don’t know if this is correct. Surely IBIS sounds plausile, as Fujifilm managers repeatedly said, that they work on making the IBIS unit smaller, so that they can fit it into other (not X-H) X series cameras

Where I disagree, though, is Jason’s report that the Fujifilm X-H2 will never come. To my knowledge, the X-H2 will come!
