Godox TT350F for FUJIFILM Available at AmazonUS on June 30, 2017

So it turns out, that today it’s the “Flash Day” here on FujiRumors.

I already reported earlier today that:

  • Cactus X-TTL Cross-Brand TTL Firmware Upgrade for FUJIFILM Cameras is Now Available – Read here
  • Nissin Japan Launches High-Speed Sync Firmware Update for Fujifilm of Di700A and Nissin Air 1 Commander – Read here

But I have yet another Flash News for you… and it’s one many of you are waiting for (thanks to the FR-reader for sharing this with FR).

According to two separate AmazonUS sellers, the Godox TT350F for Fujifilm cameras will be available on June 30 (check out Pergear at AmazonUS and ZDMOON at AmazonUS). The Godox/Flashpoint TT350 for Fujifilm is available for pre-order also at Adorama and also AmazonUK.

Also, there will probably be an X2 for Fujifilm instead of X1

For more information, check out the Godox TT350F PDF here.

RECAP: Back in early April we broke the news here on FujiRumors, that Godox is working on major Fujifilm support. Here is their original plan (but there was a delay on it)

Godox Plan:
TT350F Fuji April-May 2017 (Update: delayed to June 30)
If TT350 is good, Move to 685 and V860II.
If all is good move to X1 Fuji and X1 Olympus. (Update: Rumor has it there will be an X2 for Fujifilm)
The same time firmware update for all 2.4G light accept Fuji and Olympus
AD200 60 bulb LED light head May-June 2017.

Phottix Hints Again Fujifilm Support :)

Phottix continues to be quite enigmatic, regarding their Fujifilm support.

When they launched the Ares II flash trigger back in February, when asked about Fuji support, they answered: “You never know what the future holds” (article here)

Well, recently they gave another hint on their facebook page here. They shared a video of a Fuji user using the Phottix Indra 500 and Indra 360, and in the comments they said:

No dedicated Fuji trigger, yet.”

When asked more explicitly if they plan Fuji support, they answered:

Fujirumors says we do” [here is the article with the rumor]

The flash problems for Fuji users will soon belong to the past. Godox & Co are all working on support. And how else could it be, given that in the last 5 years the Fuji X (and now also G) system exploded. The Fuji X (and G) user market can’t be ignored anymore.

Switching systems is a big step no matter how well you know photography. Reviews do a good job of explaining how good the camera is, but they aren’t very good at explaining the learning curve which may or may not be painful coming from one system to another.

For Nikon switchers, I’ve tried to cover the differences in article. It’s written primarily coming from a full frame Nikon (or the D750 in my case) so it may not be applicable to all Nikon’s. It’s a little long but hopefully I’ve covered it in enough detail to keep everyone happy.

Fujifilm X-T2 Settings for Wedding Photography

Why write about Fuji X-T2 settings?

This brief article is to share my Fuji X-T2 settings for wedding photography and I hope you’ll find it useful.

I switched from Canon to Fuji for my wedding work because I was looking for a lighter, more portable alternative to my DSLR’s that wouldn’t wear me and my back out during the marathons that have become wedding shoots. Weight was becoming a serious issue for me with my Canons and thankfully this last generation Fuji APS-C X-Trans sensor seems to perform well enough in terms of resolution, noise (lack of), latitude and high ISO capabilities to output excellent results in a light and compact package: small sensor means small lenses and all that comes with it. Also, with this last iteration Fuji X cameras have gotten a lot better in terms of controls (exposure compensation dial and focus point selection joystick above all), features (double memory slot) and software and have become great tools suitable for professional use during weddings.

What happened then is, I switched for the size and weight and got hooked by the shooting experience. These Fujis are really fun to use and – once you get used to them – they are also practical and quite functional. These cameras are very versatile and offer a lot room for customization. Depending on your style of shooting and type of photography, there’s a lot to work on as far as setting up the cameras to get them to perform in a way that is suitable to you, your work flow and the results you’re after.

Fuji X-T2 for Documentary Wedding Photography. Now I can!

guest post by Andrea Bagnasco: www.andreabagnasco.itFacebook.com/andreabagnascopicturesInstagram.com/andreabagnasco

My name is Andrea Bagnasco and I am a professional wedding photographer based in Northern Italy. My style is mainly documentary, in that I like to stay as unobtrusive as possible during the day to capture the candid moments that make the story of the wedding.

Like most everybody else, I’ve been relying on full-frame dslr’s for years to shoot my weddings. I’ve been adopting the Canon 5D cameras from the beginning until the Mark III model. They have always been great cameras to work with: very reliable with excellent image quality and have been improving significantly every time a new model was released, especially concerning noise at high ISOs, dynamic range and autofocus. Which are all most important factors for my type of photography, mostly done with available light.

Over the years I’ve been trying to strip down my kit as much as I could as weddings have become endurance marathons and hauling around heavy equipment the whole day is a sure way to get to the end of the wedding completely exhausted and devoid of any creativity or energy to take good photographs. No matter how good and nourishing the vendor meal or my level of physical fitness. Despite my determination to travel light, I’ve always been taking three camera bodies with me at weddings, where I’d have two cameras on me for most of the day and the third one as backup in the bag.
