Fujifilm Announces Plan to Deal with Parts Shortage Issue

Fujifilm seems to be trying to takle the parts shortage more seriously compared to that creative (and failed) solution of using blockchain for that purpose.

Now, down below you can read the google translated version of their plan, which is not 100% clear, but I guess it overall simply means: we’ll get more parts from more suppliers.

On the 6th, Fujifilm announced the goal of expanding the target to a total of 30,000 parts of 30 suppliers by the fiscal year for digital platforms that optimize parts inventories such as digital cameras. We have been conducting verification for 4300 items from 8 companies since October last year, but we have started full-scale operation as we have been able to confirm the cost reduction effect such as inventory management.

Oh well, better late than never I guess.

Let’s hope this will have positive effects also on the Fujifilm X100V, which in Japan is suspended since 8 months and as Fujifilm managers told us recently here, if the entire world would stop to order the Fujifilm X100V today, it would take Fujifilm still up to 3 months to manufacture and ship all the cameras already ordered until up to this point.

And quite frankly, there are plenty of other cameras that could benefit from a more stable parts procurement, maybe there could be even a revival for the Fujifilm X-E4, which was discontinued even though MANY of you had one on order. Fujifilm simply gave up on being ever able to ship it in a reasonable time.

Fujifilm X Summit on September 12: What Camera are You Hoping for to Come? VOTE NOW

So, we just leaked the date of the next Fujifilm X Summit, which will happen on September 12.

Now I am curious to know what you guys are hoping for to come.

That’s why I have now launched a survey that includes plausible, less plausible and borderline impossible options.

I’ll not include 110% impossible cameras, which would be for example a Fujifilm X-H3 or Fujifilm X-H3s, as those cameras are hardly 1 year old (or less). Or the Fujifilm X-T6 or Fujifilm X-S30.

What we will inlcude are the Fujifilm X-T5s (X-T5 with 26MP stacked sensor of X-H2S), Fujifilm X-Pro4, Fujifilm X-E5, Fujifilm X-T40, Fujifilm X100V successor (X200, X100VI, X100 whatever), Fujifilm X80, Fujifilm XF20, Fujifilm X-T300, Fujifilm X-A8, Fujifilm X-A30, Fujifilm X-M2, Fujifilm GFX100 successor, Fujifilm GFX100S successor, Fujifilm GFX50R successor and Fujifilm GFX50SII successor.

I will give you two options to vote on, because Fujifilm has so far registered two yet to be released cameras.

Have fun voting :)

On September 12 I would like to Get the Following Cameras (max 2 votes)

The Impressive Rise of the Fujifilm X-T5 (Despite X-H2 Competition) and Popularity of X Series Camera Lines – Poll Results

Recently I asked you which Fujifilm X camera you own.

The goal of the survey was to find out how popular the newest 5th generation X series cameras have become among the FujiRumors community.

The results surprised. And not because the Fujifilm X-T5 sold well. That was to expect. But because despite being launched just a few months ago, the Fujifilm X-T5 is already the most owned Fujifilm X series camera among this community.

And more impressively: this is the first time that any Fujifilm X-T camera has some serious internal competition in the higher end Fujifilm segment thanks to the Fujifilm X-H2. But despite this stiff internal competition, the X-T5 made it to the top as your most owned camera in just a few months.

Speaking of X-H2, it is 7th in the ranking, showing the huge popularity of the 40MP X-Trans V sensor.

In the battle X-H2S and X-H2, the X-H2S wins and grabs the 6th spot, but with only a few votes of advantage.

The first non-XT camera in the ranking is the Fujifilm X100V on the 5th spot, slightly ahead of the X-H2S. The next rangefinder camera is the X-Pro2 on the 9th spot

NOTE: The popularity of camera (lines) on FujiRumors is not indicative for the overall popularity on the worldwide market.

Which Fujifilm X Camera do You Own? – Measuring the Success (or not) of Fujifilm X-T5, X-H2 and X-H2S – VOTE NOW

Pretty much exactly one year ago, Fujifilm introduced their 5th generation platform (X-Processor 5 and X-Trans V) with the Fujifilm X-H2S.

The launch of the X-H2S was followed by even more 5th generation goodness with the Fujifilm X-T5 and Fujifilm X-H2.

And very soon we will also get the Fujifilm X-S20.

And given all those major releases, I was wondering how successful they have been among the FujiRumors community.

That’s why today I will launch an updated survey where you can tell us which camera you own.

Let’s see if there was a breakthrough in terms of 5th generation gear here on FujiRumors or if many of you did not update to the latest and greatest and stick with their older gear.

  • Important Note: If you pre-ordered any of the gear listed below and just wait to get it shipped, you qualify as owner.

As a reference, here are the top 5 cameras we had in our last survey:

  1. X-T3
  2. X-T4
  3. X-T2
  4. X-H1
  5. X100V

Unleash the X-Trans IV Power: X-Processor 5 to Boost Fujifilm X-S20 Video – Video Specs LEAKED

A while back I told you that there could be a huge potential in the combination between X-Trans IV and X-Processor 5.

Well, it looks like this combination will become real soon.

In fact, today we can finally tell you what many of you already saw coming: the Fujifilm X-S20 will use the X-Processor 5.

And in addition to that, our trusted sources (thanks!!!) told us that the Fujifilm X-S20 will be able to record 6K/30p and 4K/60p video.

We remind you that the Fujifilm X-S10 with the very same sensor can shoot 4K/30p max.

It looks like the combination between efficient and powerful X Processor 5 and fast sensor readout of 26MP X-Trans IV, is making it possible to put 6K/30p and 4K/60P into the small camera body of the Fujifilm X-S20, without having serious overheating issues that would make such a feature impracticable.

Considering the hybrid nature of this camera, 6K/30p and 4K/60p are a very welcome feature.

Fujifilm Factory Tour: Meet Fujifilm’s Most Complex Gear to Manufacture and How Adjustment is Key to Image Quality

The French website Phototrend had the opportunity to visit the Fujifilm factory in Taiwa, Japan, which where many premium Fujifilm gear is made, but not only premium. For example, also Fujifim’s oldest X mount lens, the legendary Fujinon XF35mm F1.4 R is assembled here.

In this tour, Fujifilm will also tell you which is the most complex gear to manufacture. Spoiler: it’s this beast here, which consists of over 1,000 pieces!!!

There is lots of interesting stuff to read and see, but I found one sentence particularly interesting: “adjustment is the key to image quality“.

So while the assembly takes time and is indeed complex, all the micro-adjustments made during and after the assembly are crucial to ensure a consistent and high quality product.

Down is a quick summary where you can read all the details as well as some images.

Fujifilm X-E4 Discontinued at BHphoto and Other Stores

The Fujifilm X-E4 was launched in January 2021 and the last time I’ve noticed the X-E4 in stock was back in October 2021.

Not even the Fujifilm X100V has such a bad shipping record as the X-E4.

And now, after 2 years only, stores are already starting to mark it as discontinued, as for example BHphoto here (in all its combinations) and the Australian store Camerapro.

It’s a pity that such a beautiful little camera hardly ever shipped and now it even seems to be over for it.

At this point, the Fujifilm X-E5 can’t come soon enough.
