Fujifilm X-T4 Firmware Update Imminent, But…

A source, who uses a nickname (thanks a lot), just contacted me with the information that a firmware update for the Fujifilm X-T4 is imminent.

But before you get too excited about it, let me tell you something.

Fujifilm usually announced major Kaizen firmware updates ahead of their actual release, as it recently happened with the upcoming GFX100 firmware here and the X-S10 firmware here.

In this case, Fujifilm has not pre-announced anything, which is a clear indication that it will be a minor firmware update. So don’t get too hyped about it.

BREAKING: Fujifilm GFX50S MKII Price Leaked

Ok guys, as usual, when I share a rumor, I am confident that it is correct.

But lately the world has gone crazy and behind the scenes everything changes continuously due lack of parts, cyber attacks, global pandemic, alien invasion and what not.

With that disclaimer out of the way, today I’d like to tell you that, according to our sources, the Fujifilm GFX50SMKII will hit the market with a price tag of $3,999.

If I share it now, it means I am confident that price is not so likely to change anymore. But if that should happen, I will let you know on FujiRumors.

The Fujifilm GFX50SMKII will sport the good old 50MP sensor of current GFX50 cameras, have the same form factor of the GFX100S, it will have IBIS and come in the second half of 2021 (but not on August 27).

This 3D Printed Fujifilm X100V Case Gives You X-Pro3 Alike Hidden Screen

I am probably one of the few out there, who finds the hidden screen of the Fujifilm X-Pro3 a certainly audacious, but also interesting concept. And overall, if I’d have to choose between a rangefinder alike Fujifilm camera with selfie screen or one with hidden screen, I’d go for he hidden one.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate selfie screens (in fact it was a true blessing to have one on my X-T4 during my online teaching lessons), but I feel like there are some myths around them that have to be debunked, and I’ve tried to do so in this article.

With that said, if you are one of those who might be intrigued by the hidden screen concept but own a Fujifilm X100V, then here on etsy there is a little 3D printed X100V case that will hide your screen and make it more X-Pro3 alike.

The Fujifilm X100V itself, though, is out of stock almost everywhere since several weeks now. And so is lots of other Fujifilm gear, probably mainly due to the shortage on parts announced by Fujifilm.

RUMOR UPDATE: Affordable GF Zoom Lens Coming Second Half 2021

This is an important update.

According to our sources, Fujifilm has moved the announcement of the upcoming affordable GF zoom lens from the first half 2021 to the second half 2021. Don’t worry, it won’t be delayed further to 2022. It will 100% arrive within 2021.

I don’t know if this delay is related to the shortage of parts announced by Fujifilm. Anyway, I thought it was worth to keep you up to date with the latest developments.

Anyway, it makes little difference to the substance of that rumor, which is that it will be Fuji’s most affordable G mount lens and come soon.

IT IS OVER: Fujifilm X-E4 is Fuji’s Last X-Trans IV Camera

It’s over!

Not only the Fujifilm X-E4 will be the last X series camera to come this year, but according to our sources it will also be the last one to feature the excellent X-Trans IV sensor!

The 26MP X-Trans IV sensor was used first on the Fujifilm X-T3, followed by the X-T30, X-Pro3, X100V, X-T4, X-S10 and last but not least the X-E4.

It’s still a great sensor with top-notch technology. Backside illuminated, full phase detection coverage, copper wiring for faster sensor readout. It’s the same technology we find in flagship cameras of other brands such as the Sony Alpha a7R IV.

And the future?

Fujifilm managers already hinted multiple times like in this interview and also here, that the future will bring more megapixel to the X series.

Which sensor technology will be used? Will it really be that 43 Megapixel 8K stacked BSI sensor?

Fujifilm X-H2 in 2022 Will Be FIRST X Series Camera with New Sensor and Processor

Here is what we know thanks to our rumors:

Now, since an illustrious Fujifilm managers talked about a breakthrough to achieve with Fujifilm X-H2, we all expected the Fujifilm X-H2 to feature a new sensor and processor.

But some readers contacted recently, asking me if maybe the first camera to introduce the new sensor and processor will be the X-Pro4, followed by the X-H2 later on.

And I understand where this comes from. It happened in the past that Fujifilm used the X-Pro line to introduce new platforms (X-Pro1 and X-Pro2).

Well, today I’d like to clarify that and say that the Fujifilm X-H2 will be Fujifilm’s first X series camera to introduce the new sensor and processor platform, and not the X-Pro4.

But attention: the Fujifilm X-H2 is still far away, and we will not get it until some point in 2022.

Fujifilm is crafting a monstrous camera and they are not allowed to fail. This means that they will take all the time they need to release real stunner, confident of the fact that in the meantime sales of X-T series, X-S10 and X100V cameras will keep up going strong, allowing Fujifilm not to hurry with the X-H2.

As one of our trusted sources said: it will be a long wait, but it will be well worth it.
