Fujifilm X-T3 Video: 4K at 60p, 10 bit and Zebra

Fujifilm X-T3

When the Fujifilm X-H1 was launched earlier this year, Fujifilm Manager Watanabe sair here:

We couldn’t add zebra [to the X-H1] because of hardware constraints. The processor cannot support it. It requires too much processing power.”

Well, I am please to inform you, that thanks to the more powerful processor in the Fujifilm X-T3, the Fuji X-T3 will now have the Zebra feature.

And overall the video specs are improved, since according to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-T3 will be capable of:

  • 4k at 60p
  • 10 bit (I am verifying if also internal)
  • zebra (real time highlight clipping warning during video)

Lensbaby Sol 45 f/3.5 Tilt-Shift Lens for Fujifilm X Cameras Available

Lensbaby Sol 45 f/3.5 Tilt-Shift for Fujifilm X

Lensbaby just announced the Lensbaby Sol 45 f/3.5 Tilt-Shift for Fujifilm X with fixed f/3.5 aperture.

You can get it now at BHphoto.

Tilt shift lenses are arguably one of the top 3 lacks in the Fujifilm X mount line-up. The only other native X mount option I know for the X system is the Samyang T-S 24mm F3.5. I will let you decide if the lensbaby is an option for you. Check out the first look reviews down below:

There won’t be a tilt-shift lack in the GF medium format lineup. We already leaked the complete “secret” Fujifilm GF roadmap in April 2017, and we have updated it since then, including the upcoming tilt-shift lens. The latest rumor here.

And make sure to check out our full overview on current and upcoming Fuji X mount lenses at our forum.

Fujifilm X-E3 Brown and X-A3 double Kit to be Released in Japan on August 9

According to nokishita, Fujifilm will release the brown X-E3 and the X-A3 double kit in Japan on August 9.

I remember you that we reported that Fujifilm USA has currently no plans to sell any brown Fujifilm, neither the brown X-E3 nor the brown X100F and brown X-T100.

The brown colors are available in several Asian and EU countries, as well as in Canada.

If they sell well, I guess also Fujifilm USA will start selling them.

… have a GREAT day,

NIKON Mirrorless Camera is Coming, and FUJIFILM is Happy About it

NIKON MIRRORLESS IS COMING…

So yes, they are finally doing it.

Nikon is coming with a serious mirrorless (FF… or even MF?) camera on August 23. And Canon will follow soon.

Unlike other occasions, where Nikon marketing terribly failed, this time I find the whole thing with the teasers a brilliant move. The only risk I see is that the final thing won’t match the high expectations, like when Nikon made all these Nikon DF teasers (and Kai made a funny parody of them).

Anyway, Nikon is confident, and promises “a leap into a new dimension that will last for the next 100 years“.

We know very little about the upcoming Nikon mirrorless camera. So let’s wait until August 23 before we discuss the camera more in-depth.

But what we can discuss now, is what Nikon’s and Canon’s move into the mirrorless world means for Fujifilm X and GFX lovers.

… FUJIFILM IS HAPPY…

Fujifilm managers said here that they welcome CaNikon Full Frame mirrorless cameras, because…

“[…] having those strong brands in the mirrorless marketplace increases general awareness of mirrorless, and that’s a good thing for the whole industry.”

Many people, who currently still think that DSLRs are the only real professional tool, might start to think differently, once they see that even Canon and Nikon start to cannibalize their own high-end DSLR market in favor of their new mirrorless offering.

And this is where Fujifilm (and other mirrorless manufacturers) have their opportunity.

If the message finally passes that “mirrorless is the future” (and it is the future), plenty of DSLR users (who are mainly APS-C shooters, as Fuji Guy Billy correctly said in his X-T100 first look here) will start to migrate to Mirrorless.

Maybe many will just go to CaNikon mirrorless, but at least Fujifilm has the chance to finally attract some of those mirroless-migrants to their X or GFX systems by offering already today:

  • 28 APS-C Fujinon lenses
  • 2 APS-C MK video lenses
  • 3 APS-C flagships (X-T, X-Pro and X-H line)
  • Plenty of APS-C mid range and entry-level cameras
  • 2 Medium Format Cameras (GFX 50s and very soon an affordable GFX 50R)
  • 6 Medium Format Lenses (more to be announced soon)

It remains to see if the mirrorless-migrants will be patient and wait years for Canon and Nikon to build up a complete new system, or if, since they have to change system and change lenses anyway (unless they use adapters), they will directly switch to more established and experienced mirrorless brands like Fujifilm (APS-C or MF) or Sony (FF),

… AND X/GFX SHOOTERS ARE HAPPY TOO!

What would Fujifilm be today, without the pressure they got from Sony, Panasonic and Olympus? Probably a much worst system than it is today. So, competition is a good thing.

That’s why I hope that the Nikon mirrorless camera will be a top performing camera and very rich in features, a real flagship!

It will motivate Fujifilm (and other companies) to work even harder and to invest even more money into their camera system, and hence improve and expand the Fujifilm system even faster.

So thank you Nikon… thank you Canon… for finally joining seriously the mirrorless side of life… just please, let it be awesome mirrorless cameras ;) .

Top 10 FujiRumors Posts for July 2018 – Fujifilm XF10 Anyone?

Top Ten FR posts + the invisible XF10

I usually never do it… or I do only my Top/Flop posts at the end of the year, but this month I decided to share with you the top 10 posts of FujiRumors in July.

Why?

Because looking at the FujiRumors visits, it seems that many did not notice that, nestled between an amazing new roadmap and gorgeous new lenses, hidden between Fujifilm X-T3 buzz and new Kaizen firmware, Fujifilm also announced a new camera, called Fujifilm XF10.

The Fujifilm XF10 live blogging was one of the least followed live blogging I have ever done, even though I told you a few days before it would come July 19 (as opposed to the “surprising” XF8-16 and XF200 live blogging on July 20, which on FR went online at the very same second the lenses were announced).

But I guess this was to expect, since the XF10 was overshadowed by the XF 8-16 and XF 200 leaks, as well as by the new roadmap lens rumors. And add to that, that the Fujifilm XF10 is not the X70 successor many of us were hoping for.

Anyway… even though it seems that almost nobody here on FR cares about the XF10, I will try to give it a little bit of visibility by sharing two links with XF10 coverage you might want to check out.

With that said, here are the top ten FujiRumors posts of July 2018:

FujiRumors is Back from “Holidays”: Ready for Rumors and Editing Pictures (but Fujifilm Film Simulations make Life Easier)

FujiRumors Blogging on the Road :)

My Holidays

It’s done… I made it…

I drove over 2,500 miles (4,000+ km) with my girlfriend on my old Mazda2 and since a few days now I am back home.

It was a rather complicated road trip, due to the huge Fujifilm rumors and announcements in July. But I had great moments during my trip, and also blogging was exciting… especially the new roadmap made me happy :)

I am now about to edit my images, but I am so happy that I guess in about 80% of the cases I will get excellent results applying Fujifilm film simulations only (or slightly fine tuned).

I travelled with my Fujifilm X-E3, XF10-24, XF18-135, XF35mmF1.4, XF27mmF2.8 and Samyang 12mm F2.

And of course my trusty Sirui T-025X carbon fiber travel tripod (bought upon your recommendation).

My most used lenses were the XF10-24 and XF18-135, since I mostly focussed on landscape photography in this trip.

I used the 35 and 27 mainly to make some portraits of my girlfriend and some street photos, but so far I could not convince her to give me permission to share them on FujiRumors, but I’ll not give up, and if I get permission, I will share them on my Instagram page here.

I have shared the first few images of my trip on my social media already (more will come), so in case you would like to find out which places I have been to, just check out my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.

Just a teaser (includes yet unedited images):

Your Rumors

Now I am back… 100% focussed on FujiRumors… and I tell you: I have the feeling that rumors will come. Many of them. And here is what you should do, if you don’t want to miss them:

  • ALLOW PUSH NOTIFICATION: at the bottom right of your browser, you’ll see a little bell icon. Click on it to enable browser push notifications (or disable them, if you don’t want them). This is an excellent way to get instant notifications.
  • FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: another excellent way to get the rumors in your news feeds is to follow Fujirumors on Facebook, RSS-feed, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter

Guys, we are going to have fun… and I have the feeling you don’t want to miss the exciting Fujifilm rumors that are coming ;)

And to have an idea of what is awaiting us, make sure to check out our 2018/2019 Fujifilm rumor timeline.

FUJIFILM USA Currently has No Plans to Sell Brown X-E3 and X100F. Fujifilm X-T100 Brown Color in Asia

Fujifilm Camera Colors

Back in February, we told you that Fujifilm had plans to launch a brown X100F. And indeed, starting from May, the brown Fujifilm X100F started to appear at stores all over the world.

Then, in June, here on FR we also broke the news about the brown Fujifilm X-E3, which today is available in many markets.

Everybody was expecting these two color configurations to sell soon also in USA, especially since they are available in Canada already, but it seems we were wrong.

According to our sources, Fujifilm USA has currently no plans to sell the brown Fujifilm X100F and brown Fujifilm X-E3 in USA.

If those colors will turn out to be very popular, then Fujifilm USA might decide to introduce them to the US market, too. But at this point, Fujifilm USA is not interested.

Fujifilm X-T100 Colors

Wow, I got some very excited emails this morning, telling me that also the Fujifilm X-T100 is now available in dark silver.

But guys, the dark silver X-T100 is available since May 24, 2018, the day the Fujifilm X-T100 was launched. :)

If you missed this and other X-T100 information, you better check back our X-T100 live blogging.

What you can find, though, is the brown X-T100 here, as spotted and shared with us by FR-reader imagei here. The brown X-T100 is only available in Asia, and it remains to see if it will be sold also in Europe and North America.

Overall Asia seems very color friendly, when it comes to offer Fuji cameras in different vests. We reported yesterday that there is a graphite X-A5 in Asia, and it is available in Europe too.
