Good news first: The indigo blue X-A1 is in stock at BHphoto. Click here to check it out.

Bad news: It seems that BHphoto was too optimistic when they estimated the availablity of the XF 23mm f/1.4 for today. The new date is Octobere 30. Thanks Roger for telling me about it and to LetThereBeLight who said: “Just an fyi… I ordered my 23mm f1.4 through your site link to B&H. I noticed their expected availability was October 3rd and I looked today and it is expected on the 30th instead. I spoke to B&H customer service and they said the 30th is what is expected now and they do not have a shipment currently expected for tomorrow from Fuji. The representative told me I was near the top of the list as my order was placed at the time of pre-order release. I should be expecting shipment to begin on the 30th.. I guess we will be waiting a little longer!!”

Neil wrote me an email saying that “the PictureCode people have come out with preliminary support for X-Trans sensors in their latest PhotoNinja pre-release 1.20. I had sent them some pics earlier to help and they had some other work done but even with it being preliminary it feels like it’s better than the other raw converters out there.”

Another feedback from Larry: “PictureCode (of Noise Ninja fame) is working on a version of Photo Ninja that will accommodate the Fuji X-Trans cameras.  Even in the pre-release version, they claim fewer problems with the greens.”

Now the final version is available here! If you want, try it out and leave your feedback in the comments.

In the meantime VKphoto made a first comparison (Photo Ninja, LR5, C1 and Iridient Developer): “I found that Photo Ninja’s renders x-trans raw files very similar to Capture One Express and a bit of moire is also visible on the bird’s feathers. Iridient Developer is still the “King of Raw Converters”. It pulls more details with no traces of moire whatsoever.” Check the comparison out here.

enjoy your day

The X-E2 is in the pipeline, but it seems that the latest X-E1+kit lens deal is still a attractive for many photographers. At least if we take a look at one of the biggest online retailers. At the AmazonUS CSC ranking both, the silver (9th) and the black version (6th) are in the top ten, followed by the [shoplink 13828 ebay]X-M1[/shoplink] and [shoplink 12882 ebay]X-PRO1[/shoplink], still in the top 20.

win an X100S

The contest expires October 3rd so the winner will be announced tomorrow: like the US store pictureline at facebook here, share with your friends and you could win an X100S! Will a Fujirumors reader be the lucky winner? I really hope so… and I’d feature his/her first X100S shots in the next FR-readers zone.

good luck to everybody
Patrick

Fujifilm announces “X-Lovers Festival” on 18 OCT: new products will come (X-E2 and XQ1)!

Let’s say that this comes from an absolutely trusted source! Fujifilm announces an X-lovers festival and the launch of new X-series cameras on October 18. This confirms the rumors previously shared on Fujirumors about 2 new cameras coming on that day. The trusted Japanese source told me of the X-E2 and a compact camera with a 2/3 X-Trans sensor (XQ1).

Follow Fujirumors on October 18. I’ll live blogging on that day, and one never knows if there will be other surprises ;)

Stay tuned via facebook, twitter and RSS feed
