Still leading the CSC-ranking here.

The body only version is selling better… seems that many are right now upgrading from “older” X-cameras to the X-T1.

if you purchase the X-T1 using one of the shoplinks on FR, you’ll support my rumor-work over the last months (and the upcoming one) with no extra costs for you.

Hi all

I’m just sitting in a bar waiting for the meeting at my day job to begin, and thought to make a good use of my spare time ;-).

So here is a collection of a few more first looks and thoughts about the X-T1 and 56mm and a size comparison between the three weather sealed lenses in the roadmap (18-135, 16-55, 50-140) and the two lenses that will be next one available on the market (56 and 10-24).

Fuji X-T1

(if there is someone out there who incredibly missed to read Rico’s X-T1 first look, click here and enjoy)

– Polish first impressions at optyczne here (translation). The size comparison of the lenses can be found on their website.

Fuji X-T1 – Seeing – Improved at olafphotoblog here: “In sum, a camera doesn’t have to have every possible feature — quite the opposite. Give me the best viewfinder on the market and the manual controls at my fingertips and let me do what I love to do – see and paint with light. All the rest is just distraction.”

– Karol: “Hi, Fujirumors Live photography from Fujifilm event in Poland in gallery. JPG, fine, profile Vivid and Monochrome. Fujifilm X-T1. Fujinon XF 18-55, Fujinon XC 50-230.See here (translation).

XF 56mmm

[UPDATE: Markus: “I had a brief opportunity to shoot with the 56 as well. Very casual images but maybe some of your readers will appreciate it to“. Check it out here.]

XF56mm hands on review at fujivsfuji here: “Once last time, given this lens is a preproduction unit, I think it’s more than safe to say we’ll have a superbly sharp portrait lens that delivers exceptional bokeh. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a finalized copy  of it.”

–  kammah is in love with the XF56mm here: “I will keep this article short and sweet. For one simple reason, to me, this lens is perfect.
I’ve only had it for a few hours and already, I have fallen in love.

– Some more photos taken with the XF56mm at neillsoden here.

After the first two days (and the announcement of the Olympus E-M10), the X-T1 is still ruling the CSC-ranking here. Amazon marked it at “best seller”.

[You still haven’t read Rico’s X-T1 first look? Then check it out here. He also updated his Flickr set with new full size images here]

Websites and blogs are publishing first looks, hands on reviews, first impressions, sample images, videos and more. I told you, the buzz is terrific… and the first feedback… enthusiastic!

So it happens that the German site colorfoto (tranlsation) says that, along with the [shoplink 19559]Sony A7[/shoplink], the X-T1 is “a further nail in the coffin of the DSLR“. And what do you think? Could the X-T1 be the reason for you to get rid of your DSLR?

But it’s not only the X-T1 to be praised. It’s the complete X-series. Forbes declared Fujifilm “the Apple of the digital photography“, while Petapixel talks about the X-Factor and that “the camera industry would look a lot more boring today if not for the arrival of Fuji’s X-cellent, X-otic, X-Series.” And kammah, who got his hands on a X-T1, says here what many photographers think: “the new Fuji X-T1 looks and feels like everything the Nikon Df is trying to be. […] Holy Sh*t. Those were the words that came out of my mouth when I first looked through this new EVF. I was absolutely floored. Actually… I still am. Yes, it’s that good.

Here are the initial impressions of michaelrcruz: “Although in paper, it looks like the sensor and the processor is a carry over from X-E2 but what’s different in X-T1 is the Predictive AF which in my initial testing works quite well. It is quite effective actually; I will probably do more in-depth testing in the future regarding this feature.” [videos down below]

There are also the first comparisons online: X-E2 / X-T1 vs EM-1 / EM-10 at the Spanish site DSLRmagazine here (translation).

[UPDATE: ephotozine hands on here and photographyblog samples here. More samples at danbaileyphoto here.]

In the meantime the X-T1 catalogue is online here. Also the new X-mount lenses brochure (with 56 and 10-24 lens) can be seen here.

There are also some X-photographers shooting with the X-T1…   look for their shots at fujifilm-x.com/photographers.

In stock: get the black X100S at kenmorecamera (2 available)!

[shoplink 21342 ebay] photo X100S_zps026c16d5.jpg[/shoplink]

These are the first two all black X100S available in the USA. They are sold by [shoplink 21342 ebay]top rated eBay reseller kenmorecamera[/shoplink].

There was some buzz in the last days because in Japan you can find the black X100S marked as “limited edition”. But I think it referred to a special box with some extra “original accessory” (black [shoplink 12893]WCL-X100[/shoplink] and more…).

The black X100S sold by kenmorecamera is not marked as “limited edition”, has the same price of the silver one… and is beautiful :-)! So don’t worry, there will be enough for all.

Adobe: improved X-Trans support soon (film simulation support)!

Share

 photo adobe_zps025c6281.jpg

Something is moving at Adobe (click here)…. it’s whispered that the company will soon improve the support for the X-Trans RAF files. What I know about it until now is this:

I’ve been told that, with the next update, Adobe Lightroom and Camera Raw will support Fuji’s Film Simulations. So you can finally put the Fuji X-Trans RAF’s in Lightroom and the software will be able to reproduce faithfully the various Film Simulations mode (Provia – Velvia – Astia – ProNeg Hi – ProNeg. Std – B&W Monochrome +Ye+R+G).

It will be compatible with every X-cameras, including the X-T1!

P.S.: But that’s not the only good news I’d like to spread today. Canadian readers who purchase the X-T1 until March 31 will get the vertical grip for free. Check it out.

And a must read in these days:  Rico’s X-T1 first look here!
