February was an extremely busy month.
With 108 articles published in 29 days, you might have missed some here and there, so here are the top articles shared in February.
On the 11th position, but worth the mention here, is the Fujifilm X Summit live stream article.
I hope you had a good time in February.
And I have the feeling that March could be exciting, too, because we might have to talk about some important decisions Fujifilm is making.

The silver Fujifilm X100V is now in stock now at BHphoto.
Here is the best selling gear on FujiRumors for February.
Top Accessories
It looks like people ar getting ready for the Fujifilm X-T4 by grabbing the brand new batteries and the dual charger. I did the same, pre-ordered an additional battery and will very likely get the charger, too. Sure, you can charge all batteries on the X-T4 and battery grip through the UBS-C port in the camera, but having an external charging option is always useful.
Top Fujifilm Series Cameras
The Fujifilm X-T4 was definitely the hot camera of February, followed closely by the Fujifilm X100V. A great deal on the Fujifilm X-T3 assures decent sales also for the X-T3.

Since this post is about shutter sound, I would like to introduce it with the words of Tiziano Terzani:
“My life changed on the 30th of April 1975 [Note: last day of the Vietnam War], because on that day – when Americans flew from the roofs of Saigon – a skilled Vietnamese thief was able to steal a Leica M3 of an American. I met him at the market of Saigon a few days later and bought that camera. Wonderful. Simple. For 100 Dollar! It became the camera of my life. […]
The nice thing of that camera is, that it is very easy to load the film, that’s very important. […] You keep it around your neck, turn, open, insert film, close and – trum-pum! It’s ready to use. Easy. And once you selected shutter speed, aperture, black & white, 400 ASA, you take the picture. You simply cannot do anything wrong!
And then there was an almost erotic aspect, I mean, you put this camera for example at 1/125 and when you take the picture it makes a “cloc-cloc” that is such a joy to hear!”
“Cloc-cloc” or “click-click” or “flap-flap“. Whatever the sound is, I agree with Tiziano that pressing the shutter button and hear it sealing the moment is a joy.
And now, after this introduction, let’s see how the shutter sound of the Fujifilm X series evolved over the years, thanks to a video by nyphotog2006 you can see below.
The comparison is between:
To me, the Fujifilm X-T4 shutter sounds even a tiny bit more quiet than the Fujifilm X-H1 shutter, which is rather impressive!
Then he throws a Fujifilm X100V into the comparison, but that’s like cheating, as it makes almost no sound thanks to its leaf shutter .
Cultural Sidenote: I love the books of Tiziano Terzani, and highly recommend you to read them. They also made a movie out of one of his books, it’s called “The End is my Beginning“. If you have some spare time, it’s worth to watch it. The actor playing Tiziano is Bruno Ganz, an absolute gigantic actor, who played iconic roles in film history, like the Hitler in Downfall and Wings of Desire of Wim Wenders.
A couple of FR-readers contacted me saying that they got notification from some stores, that they are boxing up and shipping their silver Fujifilm X100V. The black Fujifilm X100V should start shipping on March 12.
At our Fujifilm X100V group you can also see some fellow X shooters already holding this beauty in their hands :).

DPReview interviewed Fujifilm Chief Designer Maszumi Imai and Senior Manager Shinichiro Udono.
They talk about the Fujifilm X100V.

BHphoto video – Introducing the X100V
As you probably know by now (if not, do your homework and check back the X100V live blogging ;) ), the Fujifilm X100V has a new XF23mm f/2 lens, that definitely delivers a significant improvement over the previous lens, which was designed for the 12 megapixel original X100.
Finally Fujifilm updated it. And they did a pretty damn good job.
But how does it compare to the other Fujinon 23mm lenses in Fuji’s offering, the Fujinon XF 23mm f/1.4 and the Fujinon XF23mm f/2?
Well, today we try to investigate this any many more question in a dedicated Fujifilm X100V roundup:

This Sunday I would like to investigate a crucial question.
It’s probably the questions of all questions.
The Fujifilm X100V looks better in silver or black? ;)
I have a theory I will explain later… but first the rankings.
If we look at the BHphoto X100V page, we see they mark the X100V silver as “#1 seller“ and the X100V black as “top seller“.
But the ranking might be “drugged”, as the silver Fujifilm X100V will ship 1 month earlier than the black Fujifilm X100V. So people might have grabbed the silver one, to get it earlier.
And now my theory:
I find some Fujifilm cameras look better in silver, whereas others in black. I never knew why. But one day I got the illumination, and I found the answer.
Rangefinder styled Fujifilm cameras with optical viewfinder look better in silver (such as X100V), whereas Fujifilm cameras without optical viewfinder look better in black (such as X-E3).
Of course this is just my personal taste. But I noticed this pattern in my taste. Don’t know if it’s the same also for you.
With that said, frankly both colors look awesome on the Fujifilm X100V.
