Singer-Turned-Photographer Bryan Adams Shooting Pirelli Calendar 2022 with Fujifilm GFX100S

original image at CNN taken by Alessandro Scotti

Here is a little weekend curiosity.

Singer-Turned-Photographer Bryan Adams is currently at work to shoot the new Pirelli Calendar 2022.

Now some behind the scenes images appeared at CNN here, and the camera we see has to be the Fujifilm GFX100S: flat viewfinder, top LCD with two buttons on the right, the “viewmode” printed on the side.

Well, at least he got one already. Fujifilm was totally overwhelmed by the demand for this camera (it is already the most owned GFX camera among the FR community), that it is still hard to find in stock (and Fujifilm warned us about this).

As for the lens he is using in the image we can see above, it could be the Fujinon GF32-64mmF4.

Well, that’s surely where the GFX system belongs: very high end professional work.

And yet, considering that medium format is now getting more affordable than some mirrorless full frame cameras and also smaller than some full frame mirrorless cameras, the GFX system is finding its way also in lots of camera bags of enthusiast photographers, who might not make money out of their images, but value image quality above all else.

You can read the full article and see the images at CNN here.

Fujifilm GFX100S: Kaza Leather Case, Reviews, Fuji Guys How-To, Comparisons, Stabilization Tests and More – Roundup

In honor to the Fujifilm GFX100S, which I own and made me break my “likes” record on Instagram, with the very first GFX100S image I’ve shared, today FujiRumors is going to dedicate to this wonderful camera, whose only issue is that it lacks of X-T alike dials, a roundup.

About Editing my First Fujifilm GFX100S Images and Saving 10% on Capture One with Code FUJIRUMORS (or AMBFR)

First this:

Among request of some members of the FujiRumors community, we have added the coupon code FUJIRUMORS to the 10% discount codes available for Capture One (all products).

So, from now on, you can use both codes, either AMBFR or FUJIRUMORS to get 10% off. Both are valid.

That should be easier to remember, if you don’t immediately decide to get Capture One, but maybe try the 1 month free trial, and then decide to get it. You won’t have to check back how the code was (AMBFR), as it will be much easier to remember the code FUJIRUMORS.

And by the way, I have finished editing my wedding images using Capture One. I have delivered the images already, and the couple is very happy with them. Phew :)

One more thing:

As I’ve told you on the first day I got my Fujifilm GFX100S, I can’t wait to finally bring out my GFX100S to the mountains and make some landscape photography. But an unlucky combination between my wife deciding to take a 3 weeks intensive course (and hence me being busy with babysitting) followed by a bad weather wave unusual for this time of the year, I still was not able to do that.

However, I did use a no-rain time window to go to the lake nearby my home and take some images of my family. Usually that’s stuff I love to do with my X series gear (especially X-E3 and XF27/2.8), but this time I went with the Fujifilm GFX100S and GF32-64mmF4.

I did share one image of my mini-trip on Instagram here and the case wants that the first GFX100S image I share has also quickly become the most liked one on my Instagram.

But since we talk Capture One and editing here, I can tell you this: one of my fears, was that editing the huge GFX100S files would be a painful experience. You know, big and heavy files. But in my experience, quite the opposite is true: it’s actually joy to edit GFX files!

With a sensor 70% bigger than full frame and with 70% more megapixel than the next highest resolution mirrorless full frame camera (and not to talk of the stellar GF lenses), the amount of data available during your editing process is simply massive, which can be quite helpful in some images.

Sure, the more powerful your computer is, the smoother your editing process will be, especially when you edit hundreds of images in a more complex way.

But so far playing around with the GFX files was a joyful experience on my 2018 MacBook Pro, so much so that I am not sure who had more fun: my son in the water or his daddy later on editing the image you can see below. ;)

Meet My Fujifilm GFX100S: What I Love, What I Hate and My First Firmware Request

The Mountains Shall Wait

So, my Fujifilm GFX100S just arrived as well as my Fujinon GF32-64mmF4.

The original plan was to hit the mountains and go full into landscape photography mode as soon as I have my GFX gear. But my wife decided she needed to take a 3 week long intensive course in Italian language starting exactly this week, which means I basically have to stay at home to take care of my son while she studies. Unluckily not the best timing ;).

But the summer is long and I’ll get my hiking opportunities. And it never hurts to have quality time with my son, too :).

This has now been solved with AtomOS firwmare 10.67.

Fujifilm GFX50SMKII will Look Exactly Like the Fujifilm GFX100S

Thanks to FujiRumors sources we know already a few things about the Fujifilm GFX50SMKII:

Now we have one more detail to share, and I think it’s an important one.

You might remember how the great guys at Nokishita spotted a registration about a camera that has “almost the size” of the Fujifilm GFX100S.

Well, our sources reached out to us, saying we should replace “almost” with “exactly“.

In fact, we received information that the Fujifilm GFX50SMKII will have the same outer shell of the Fujifilm GFX100S.

More details to follow soon on FujiRumors.
