“A Completely New Camera”: Fujifilm X-T1 AutoFocus TURBO BOOST thanks to Firmware Ver. 4.0 in May!

An update about the FW rumor posted earlier here: an anonymous source confirms that there will be a new Firmware Ver. 4.0 for the X-T1.

With this new firmware X-T1 owners will enjoy a faster AF-speed! The source also says that, with ver. 4.0, it will be like “holding a completely new camera in your hands“. I’m not sure if this refers just to the improved AF performance or if there will be more improvements. In any case, I don’t envy those who write the X-T1 manual… and have to rewrite it continuously :).

I remind you that the firmware is said to come Monday, 11th of May. So stay tuned on FujiRumors. As always, you’ll hear and get the rumors & news here first… 365 days a year… for free ;) .

X-shooters for Nepal: Buy a Print & Help Relief Efforts in Nepal!

I am sure all of you heard what happened on Saturday the 25th of April in Nepal. I have been to Nepal couple of times and it is a country dear to my heart. I have lot of friends there. Luckily most of them are safe however I still haven’t heard from two of my sherpa friends who were believed to be in Everest Base camp or on the mountain. Anyway, Nepal suffers. People suffer and I was wondering how I could help. Recently I have set up a small fine art print online shop. I have decided that to donate the profit from every sale until 1st August to good cause. Depending of amount of sale money will be donated to charitable organisations, NGO’s or directly to people in need. My photographs can be found at richardsimko.photos.

I shared my idea here with Patrick and he was kind enough to post this on Fujirumos so it can spread further. I am not asking you to go and buy my print. Instead I am asking you to consider selling some of your photographs and donate the profit to help Nepali people and country to bounce back from this tragedy. This is purely my personal initiative, and idea that I hope would spread around not just in Fujirumors community but much further than that. This is an opportunity to do something we all love and help the needy ones at the same time.

RUMOR: New Firmware with Improved AutoFocus for X-T1 coming in May (New Source)!

According to a new source, there will be a new firmware coming soon for the X-T1, which will improve the AF-performance. When exactly will it come? The source says that it could come as early as next month and that at the moment the release is set for Monday, 11th of May.

Firmware releases are very tricky, as postponements are possible in any moment (remember X100 firmware update).
